Repairing a coaxial cable without a connector can be challenging, but you can try the following steps:
Strip the Ends: Carefully strip the outer insulation of both cut ends using a coaxial cable stripper. Be cautious not to damage the inner wires.
Expose the Inner Conductor: After stripping the outer insulation, expose the inner conductor and the insulating layer around it.

Диаметр центральной жилы, и диаметр оплетки очень важны! Их соотношение, в скупе с диэлектрической проницаемостью диэлектрика, даёт волновое сопротивление 75 или 50ом.
При таком соединении, никто не знает какие характеристики будет иметь кабель!:)

Totally bad procedure. This change charateristic impedance of the coaxial cable. Correct fittings must be used.
I use to do that manny years ago till now it is effective no bad effect at all
Do Not Do This! This will cause ingress (noise) on your signal. A network tech will be at your house to filter out that noise coming from your house causing you to have sh*t reception and a degraded internet connection.

Просто устанавливаеться через накрутнве или компрессионные (обжимные) F-разьемы. Бочка F-F и ВСЕ!!! И кабель не теряет в длине ни миллиметра.....
Honestly I would not mind this video if it had included a brief explanation that this type of splice alters the geometry of the cable which results in a performance hit especially to channels carried on higher frequencies. It could also get into impedance control, reflected power, SWR, etc. but then it wouldn't fit the short video format, but at least including this information could prompt the viewer to go down a rabbit hole and learn something about radio frequency transmission lines.

This gets a "well maybe from me. You still will get reflections off the joint. The type of insulation and the ratio of the inner conductor diameter to the inside of the shield sets the impedance. You know the way light will reflect off the air/water interface. The same sort of thing happens with reflections as the nature of the cable changes.

man must have had to repair a few VCR cables as well honestly this was a go to method for fixing the cable if a piece of it was bent to much and the inside copper broke somehow

@@user-pp2xc6ky4c это разве не одно и тоже? Давно в автозвуке .Всегда синонимами считал сопротивление и импеданс . При нагреве катушки на динамике идет рост импеданса. Был например 1 ом, при нагреве стало 3 например.
@@30hz79 какие динамики? речь за коаксиальный кабель, а это - волновод. погуглите "коаксиальный волновод" и поймете, почему при скрутке/спайке импеданс кабеля падает.

This can work, but, probably this modify the impedance, or increase de noise. Depending of how long is the cable. The join conectors are really cheap!

The ground shield must me firmly connect too, it's the circuit ground, the signal don't comes over core without a return path, it's return path is the circuit ground available on external shield. But even connecting firmly, jointing without a connector it's wrong anyway because it gonna change the impedance! 🤣🤣🤣
Uh. No. RF is more than making a connection and "shielding" it. You're going to lose a lot of power (e.g. signal strength) this way. And if this is amplified vs passive antenna, it's going to leak like heck from the tips of barbs you tried to wrap in dielectric and shield. Different frequencies travel through the connector in different ways radially along the conductor, and this impedes many of them. There is a reason F connectors, BNC connectors etc are designed the way they are.
