The fact that he wasn’t helping his sister is a dead give away
Or help his dad fight
Most people believe that it was him who did it
@@cheesepuffangel2774 The court found him guilty of a triple cold blooded murder
And he was maddddd calm on the phone with dispatch
plus the fact that while he was enacting the scene w/ the axe he didnt seem to have any overwhelming emotion or PTSD. thats when i knew something abt him was sketchy.
I'm so angry I read the comments before the video was over and accidentally spoiled myself
caramel taehyung same though! i was like what the fuck did i just really spoil myself? im not even 5 minutes yet
samee
caramel taehyung me too ☠️☠️
that just happened to me....literally 30 seconds ago
i spoiled the video before she even introduced henri lamo
Anytime I hear a story where an entire family is murdered but one person is left alive I automatically assume it was that person who did it. And unfortunately it usually is that family member.
Exactly unless it was like the 16 y/o who had life threatening injuries
Same. That's always my first thought.
It almost always is smh. They give themselves away too- so obvious
Yes lol...and when he was so calm i was like we got another murderer
Watch THE MOTIVE (THE DOCU) netflix and see if you still say that ;-)
the amount of trauma that girl was put through is heart breaking. the ONLY immediate family member she had left was the one who killed the rest.
AND tried to kill her as a teenager!
I literally had to skip through the phone call stuff because it was so irritating. How in the hell is that a legit emergency service
Thats South Africa for you. We have perhaps one of the worst energency response times and service.
Alejandra Molina SAME HERE!!! It was horrible!!
Lol. That's South Africa for you
In all honesty I now understand why that call went like that she was in disbelief of what he was saying, he also laughed so I can't judge her
Rochelle Johnson don’t u feel unsafe??? What if ur in an emergency ?
That emergency lady . Is a horrible disbatcher. Like wtf.
Ikr
no seriously I live in SA, our emergency operators are pathetic
That's South Africa for you sis, I live here, so I'm allowed to say that
Well if she thought it was a prank...
Jme Baby girl I know!!! It frustrated me so much. I hope the lady got fired
He literally sounds like he’s calling because a kid got their head stuck in a banister or something, there isn’t an ounce of urgency or despair in the call.
I completely agree. An absolute abomination. Smh
EXACTLY!!! I don't think the operator is at fault for lacking urgency in dispatching an ambulance the way he's talking it almost sounds like a prank call/time waste call ("hello, yea, my washing machine has stopped working, send help")
when she asks what’s wrong w them too he just says “head injuries” or something. like THIS WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO SAY THEYVE BEEN ATTACKED AND CHOPPED BY AN AXE AND ARE SLOWLY DYING
The first thing I LITERALLY would’ve said would be “SOMEONE HAS JUST TRIED TO MURDER MY ENTIRE FAMILY AND THEY RAN, I NEED THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE PLEASE HURRY!” He was so nonchalant, I don’t blame her one bit for thinking it was a prank at first.
Bella: *starts telling story*
Me: “well obviously it was Henry.”
I wanna know what the conversation was to his girlfriend when he called after the attacks
Same, and I wanna know her name
She didn't answer the phone, this isn't the best source of info on this case!
He prob wanted to confirm the insurance $$ they would split
according to him, she didn't pick up and he passed out on the stairs
She didn't answer
“i need an ambulance. my family’s been attacked”
“cool. lemme put you on hold”
She pissed me right off
She thought it was a prank phone call because of how he was acting; not panicked, thought she heard a little giggle etc 🤷😬
*Calm elevator music starts playing*
slim jaydeey so you’re still meant to treat it as an emergency until you get there to assess, who is she to assess she should just do what’s she’s paid to do
welcome to south africa :(
His version of events is actually laughable. He’s so cringe.
He makes it sound like it was a scene from a crappy slasher horror movie.
He really called the authorizes all casually like “yea so when can y’all pull up? My family dead, and my sister well she bleeding”
Based off the the call alone it’s obvious it was him.
Like ordering a pizza
A pizza delivery will get to your house faster than the police and emergency services will in South Africa. Sad but true :(
@Hannah Tate Sad truth!*
@@natashadesousa3567 same difference
Same in Australia when it comes to police usually in some areas

Yup!
Dua lipa
When she showed him "reenacting" the fight scene I thought he looked too nonchalant about the whole thing. If his story was true, doing that fight scene over would have been traumatizing, instead he looked like he was practicing a part for a movie.
Also the fact that he wasn't at the hospital with his sister
Wonder why he didn’t finish off his sister?
Also none of it looked like an actual fight and he seemed to have no idea how it happened either lmao
I cant even tell a lie to skip work and not feel guilty, imagine coming up with this story.
as soon you started to describe his behaviour during the murder, i immediately knew there was something off.
Elísabet B Many people close to the family claim that the unrest within the family was due to Henri’s drug use and his father not approving of it. He could have been highly under the influence as he allegedly used tik, which is quite hectic.
Elísabet B same
Baby u dont need a ugly henri guy like that he is the true devil..👿.....come will me, i am the true god of life..?.....🌹

I love the way she tells these stories because her accent makes it more calming and less scary xx
lulu sirl that’s so true that’s why I watch these instead of the others XD
lulu sirl I don’t like her accent...at all
Sacha M Z that’s mean I have the same accent we are Australian
lulu sirl I’m telling you 💯
lulu sirl I don’t know why but when she says „to“ i get chills 😂😂 it makes me angry
I hope he’s in prison for life with no parole. Never let him out
Two things I want to know: does his sister still believe his story and what was the purpose of the murders? All I can think of is wanting the family fortune for himself.
She said she suffered from amnesia and can not remember anything since the attack. So i dont think she is in the mental state to think so far...
I want to know too
This was my first thought. You didn't hear about that in court. What did he stand to gain from it?
He was a meth addict apparently, could have been a psychotic episode.. just speculating
For everyone wondering his motives: he was a heavy drug user. He wanted to receive inheritance money from his family to fill his drug addictions.
Really? How do you know this? I have long wondered why he did it. Was he in a trance? Also, why wait until that day/night? Maybe he was using when he killed them. Do you know?
His girlfriend said he would never do such a thing. Was she a user too. Sorry to bombard you but I've never heard a motive before.
Elisa Mastromarino Sunday Times wrote an entire article about the information we know about him! Apparently, before the murder, his family threatened to cut off his allowance if he continued using drugs (if I recall correctly). On Wikipedia, it states that his drug dealer mentioned he was a consistent customer and there was apparently video footage backing this up. I’m not too sure why he chose that date specifically. I’m not too sure if the girl was a user as well. Assuming this is all completely true, he wanted to receive all the money in order to fill his drug addiction. However, there are allegations stating he was mentally ill. Wether this is true or not, there’s a chance he was and this could’ve also been another factor into his murder/motives.
@@jaybonilla701 Oh thank you! I will try to find out things about him that I guess I missed. That explains a lot! Thanks again.
jaynuary like the month that’s just straight up sad to choose drugs over your family who cared about you and has been there for you thru thick and thin may there souls Rest In Peace ✌🏼
And a psychopathic disorder. The “flat” way he acted, not much show of emotion, the decision to slaughter his family members, the 911 call and how calm he sounded on the phone, the lies and excuses. That’s all deeply-rooted psychological behavior that is considered anti-social and unhealthy.
You were born in a rich family that cares. Let's you do whatever you wanted. And you killed them. What the actual hellll.
I think the girlfriend had something to do with his motive.
Gwen Nakagawa exactly
He's dad didn't want to put him in hus will and Henry was broke for the most part,,, but he killed his parents so that he can get his parents millions and millions,,, i remember watching this on the news but it had a lot to do with money x i live in South Africa
She forgot to mention that he was on drugs - he was addicted to meth
His family was going to cut him off financially because of his drug use and he killed them to get their inheritance.
I'm from South Africa, Cape Town and this story shook us all. Thanks for covering it🙏🏼
I live in SA and agree 100% about the call to emergency services being one of the most frustrating calls ever!

He honestly thought he would get away with it? He could have at least come up with a better story, it sounded made up from the beginning!
I didn't think it was made up at the beginning but at the end it got sketchy
U know he was a drug addict right?
the part where he said he passed out for 2 hours and that's why he took so long to call for help had me actually laughing
Yeah he could have said he was hiding somewhere as soon as he saw the situation

she probably bought them from somewhere
Don’t want spoil the video for anyone who didn’t watch but
I knew it was him the minute I heard the emergency call. He was too calm and patient for a person whose family is dying.
never a good indication. tons of people are innocent that are calm during these situations and tons that sound genuinely upset are guilty.
Holly Stiener yeah true, but i think its so bizarre, to me at least, to think of someone texting and being totally patient and fine with waiting 25 minutes for ambulance to arrive with their family dying right in front of their eyes, especially some of them breathing knowing time is everything during those situations.
@@999shosha Listen he is completely guilty. For me I knew as soon as she started telling his description of the events. It did not add up. I watch a lot of the ID channel and there have been a lot of people that are innocent and are freaking out on the 911 call and in front of relatives and detectives that are guilty and a lot of innocent people that are completely calm and indifferent at the this time. And these are solved cases.
Holly Stiener yeah i get it
He had said he passed out for 2 hours. I reckon he had assumed the unresponsive axed family was almost assuredly dead.
I'm sure this isn't only me, but the entire "fight" scene between Hanri and the "attacker" just proves he's definitely making it up
I'm South African, I remember when this happened and the trial and everything. Thank you for covering a South African case 🙏 ❤
i live in south africa n i can safely say that our police services are TERRIBLE , i tried calling the police for an assault case n i got shouted at for being distressed n not speaking clearly enough, literally shouted at me n told me that they would NOT help. i had to call 3 different times before i got help 30 minutes later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 911 call wow. He was so calm after murdering his family.

As a South African, I agree! South African justice system is horrible
i knew it was henry the second you said that he called his girlfriend BEFORE emergency services in the beginning
Yes!
Expert I see,...
I knew it was him when his whole family is killed, but some how not him? Its always the lone family member left that did it
@@caffeinatedkat3 true, if I was the attacker I would of gone for him bc I would see him as a potential threat first, since he could over power me regardless if he was in a state a shock. Also what attacker would leave him alone while he walked from the bathroom to the corner of the room? Makes no sense, also the story that he was able to take the axe away and push him back so easily while the dad struggled? What?! Nope he did it
also he didn’t seem to want the police to come out.
Honestly the saddest part about this case is that Marli lost everything that day. As a 16 year old kid at the time. I’m at least glad the media weren’t allowed to interview or photograph her. Hopefully that helps her lead as normal of a life as she can now.
Ammaarah I’ve met her a few times at parties and stuff and I had no idea who was , she was super nice and bubbly. Afterward my sister told me it was her but I would’ve had no idea 💡

The fact that the attacker was laughing makes it lie 1000x scarier
yes 😰😰😰
The attacker was Henry the son
i love how she tells the story as it was found out. like she doesn't just say what actually happened she tells the story how the police and the public would've heard it
I love it. I hate when bloggers and writers say what happened at the beginning with no explanation, then jump around.
Yessss! I love the mystery aspect
Yeah but we never heard the motive for why he murdered his family 🤔 Not even for the prosecution’s case. Maybe she accidentally left it out?
@@LaNoturna greed. He wanted his Familys Money and live his Life.
I was thinking this too!
Even if the operator thought it was a prank it’s still her job to treat it like a serious situation smh
So basically, Marli will inherit a damn lot of cash once she is old enough. I think she is subconsciously aware of what Rudi did, and who knows why he didn't finish her off. My take on this murder is that he did it for the inheritance, but stuffed up royally. May he rot in jail, pity the death penalty is abolished. Spoilt little brat, and greedy to boot.
I realise how frustrating it would be to have idiots pranking emergency services, but you’re right, they should have played it more safe than sorry! I live in Australia and this comment reminded me of a young woman that had gotten in a bit of trouble with a couple of drug dealers but she managed to escape and call 000 for help. The 000 operator didn’t believe her and was disgustingly condescending. If you listen to the recording, the victim is begging for help and even says ‘I am hiding in a bush, if I speak any louder, they will hear me!’ You can just hear the frustration in her voice! Anyway, the poor woman ended up getting murdered and the 000 operator got in sooooo much trouble when it all came out
I looked it up. It’s the murder of Penelope Pratt. It’s awful listening to the 000 call an how shitty she was treated! 😡
Note to self: learn the emergency phone number of whatever country you travel to
This is a super old video, however, just found your channel and you’re so good! It’s interesting hearing about completely new cases instead of the same 10 recycled American (where I’m from) stories.
Can we just take a moment for her makeup...
That's what I've been staring at for the past 10 mins of the video 😂
Ava Bradley
I saw her once with little/no makeup and she was just as beautiful. She a gorgeous woman.
“And bleeding from the head hehe” wtf
DV M exactly why I believe he said please just in an accent no one deadass laughs like “hehe” it’s obvious he went “ple-ese” instead of the a sound he made another e sound which is why it sounds like hehe instead of please
Tatiana Cole he said please as in please hurry it’s pretty obvious the way the word could be used if you look at other 911 calls we deem as normal they say “please” so if you state that him saying please is weird because of the situation what’s your excuse for us not questioning the other people who said please if they’re just convicting him because of saying please on the phone it’s not a rightful conviction
he could have been laughing out of disbelief, not because he thought it was funny but because he couldn’t believe what had happened and he said it out loud for the first time
Nothing was said about any reason he had for killing his family.
yeah... I wanted her to talk about it, I was waiting till the end. Motive makes a story so much interesting.
I'm guessing he wanted to bring his girlfriend from Australia and impress her by both of them living in this mansion together and not wanting any family interference he decided or tried to kill them all.
It's called "Duper's Delight" when a lying person giggles or grins or smiles after telling their lie.
His was so obvious
Multi-million dollar estate but the boys shared a room? Strange. Update: I wish you could mute replies on youtube comments cause y'all are too ready to argue over nothing.
that’s actually a really good point lmao
I thought that too, then I also thought that it might be because they didn’t actually live at home anymore? They were both abroad in school, and only the one boy ended up moving back home. The other one joined them for his summer break....

A real psycho. Funny how wealth is no barrier to psychopathy but likely a breeding ground for it.
Yes!! Someone mentioned this in another video and im just CHILLS man
Yeah he sounds like he has a petty mindset that aims to win at all cost. Even if he has to eventually suffer for his own behavior.
Either he giggled or is just bad actor. I used to do that half giggle half sob tone when pretending to be sick so my mom would pick me up from school.
Also he said the killers was laughing the whole time. Either he's even more of a sicko or he's trying to seem like the traumatized victim who will never recover from how evil his "attacker" was.

@@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim I wrote this comment before she said that
If a guy calls 911, chuckles repatedly, sounds calm and joyful like he is ordering a pizza, answers endless questions without any urgency and it takes him over a minute to finally mention that "his family was attacked," I have no idea how I would have reacted in her place. People who had just wrestled with an axe-murdering maniac over his family's corpses do NOT sound like this. If he was so calm and emotionless - why expect hysterics from her? Probably didn't even believe him...
I am from South Africa and have to say thank you for explaining the case so nicely.

Just saw ur comment loooool noticed now
“The” ?
Lilliana Ramos same i thought they were something else at first then I realized they were knives
I actually notice her Jane's addiction t-shirt 😂
What resonated with me throughout the video was that he said he was able to hit the attacker in the shoulder with the axe. If that was true, they would’ve found foreign DNA on it. But it only had the four peoples DNA
The re-enactment showed he hit him with the blunt side of the axe so maybe that’s why
I figured he was using the blunt side in the re-enactment so he didn’t accidentally hit the guy lol
maybe but he was just lightly tapping him with a fake axe anyway so he would’ve shown which side he hit him with I guess and it would’ve worked more in his favour considering it was a false re-enactment if none of the attackers DNA could have gotten anywhere it was just a strike so he’d drop the knife, but that’s just how I interpreted it 😅
Blunt side of the axe or not he hit him hard enough for the attacker to stop or whatever he did. So yes DNA would have been somewhere.
Gotta love DNA!!!
I know I am very late with this comment but, as a mental health worker, I would have liked to hear if any psychiatric examination was made and what Henry's reasons for such savagery were? Greed would appear to be the most probable cause, and yet someone becoming an axe murderer without any prior signs of mental disorder is highly unlikely. Of all possible less violent, less painful, less bloody and much quicker ways to end someone's life, this young man chose one of the most violent and most cruel weapons against his closest relatives, which included lot of physical effort from him and lots of spilt blood. That points at the fact that there was not only the desire to end his family members' lives, but also to cause lots of pain, to destroy their bodies and spill their blood. It was not only very personal for him, but also unnecessarily violent, cruel and savage. No sane person, who has never showed any signs of mental problems before, suddenly transforms into an axe wielding family murderer without prior signs of significant psychopathology.
agreed 🥴
Maybe he has a dissociative disorder...he describes the events like he's outside of him self observing
I was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe I missed the part where Bella talked about Henry's motives.
@@linnyw1072 doesn't really matter what type of mental health problem he has or what condition he's suffering from, the fact remains he's pure evil and he shouldn't be allowed to draw breath

Yess just that when she so with the accent that she has so it sound like soor it just bothers me 😬
But she needs notes to stay on track and keep her info accurate
Otherwise i liked it ok
If he had stabbed the guys shoulder, there would have been the dudes blood somewhere in the house, especially on the axe, therefore they could have tested the blood on the axe and see if their blood matched or not, and if not that means someone was there.
But remember he also attacked the family so that would have meant the alleged "attacker" and family's blood would have mixed.
alex vanlinder and he also murdered them all so
alex vanlinder that’s what I was thinking, bc if he had got hit in the shoulder w the axe, the dudes blood would be somewhere

you can see in the videos of him reenacting it in court that he had turned the axe around and hit him with the blunt end
Edit... ( you covered this).
He doesn’t let the operator know that multiple people are mortally wounded until way on in the conversation and he doesn’t seem panicked at all as to get her attention it was urgent. I think he did this purposely. She kept saying “Hoska “ and he kept saying right. I think she ws stuck on hoske because he agreed she hadn’t looked for “goska “. I don’t blame her. He never said “help my whole family has been slaughtered “ at all.

@@illy1581 i didn't mean to blame anybody else I really don't care to be honest. Its not like a had big intentions with the comment, just wrote it. Geez sorry for upsetting you.
I’ve called 911 because of my work and the questions are sometimes so frustrating
I'm from south Africa 🇿🇦 and this was such a big story at the time. Is such a sad thing that happend.
Thanks for your clips I just love them
And the award to worst dispatcher of all time goes to......
I am south african and honestly it is smarter to call your private security when there is a problem because they will actually come. At least in my city.
She thought it was a prank
Tbh he had no remorse in his voice so i dont understand why she'd taken him seriously in the slightest. You'd never sound like that if your family members were battling between life and death
N S That doesn’t matter as a dispatcher. You’re not there to assume, you’re there to do your job. If there’s an person stating that there’s an issue, you dispatch emergency services. End of story. Leave the detective work for the ACTUAL detectives. Have a great day though!
@@Hello-zh8yh definitely understand where you're coming from but if they're living in a city with high crime rates, emergency services need to prioritise situations over others. You'd be more reluctant to dispatch when someone is laughing and is monotone than someone screaming or crying. Also, she couldn't even find his address initially which makes it seem as though he was joking or even lying. But yes you're right, they always have to assume the worst (she just didn't buy it tbh)
Theresa - mother
Martin - father
Rudi - son (2 years older than Henry)
Henry - son
Marli - daughter (4 years younger than Henry)
Lae Col thank you! I was confused when she just started to say names because I didn’t memorize it.
Father Martin and Mother Theresa. Thats cool
I appreciate you!!!!!!!! 🧡🧡
Oh I kept hearing Molly not Marli.
i cant believe I only found this now. Thank you for doing a South African story
Such a beautiful family, Henry’s siblings look very kind..how could he kill all of them?? Some people are just born Evil😈
He's guilty as hell! I think he's a spoilt arrogant evil person. I'm so glad he's in prison. He's a complete psychopath. This case is horrendous and he couldn't care less. He's pure evil
that's what drugs do to people
He is not saying please, he giggles. Also he has the most absent of emotion voice. The only time he had any emotion, it sounded like he sighed in frustration once. This guy deserves every minute of prison time he was given.
Katie Crocker - and more
Yeha I think he said please
HES DEFINITELY SAYIGN PLEASE no one says a sentence like that then laughed after it just didn’t sound right
He laughed for sure
It’s sounds like a giggle while saying please. But I make that same “giggle” when I’m tired of explaining myself or frustrated with someone. The whole call sounds like he’s getting annoyed with the responder because she can’t find the location and is asking all these questions, but not taking the situation seriously. I’d probably give that exasperated giggle as well if my entire family was murdered and the responder was arguing with me about my location and not sending an ambulance after asking several times, like are you for real right now?
I don't know how your channel hasn't showed up on my feed of recommendations sooner... but I guess better now than never. I appreciate what you offer and looking forward to catching up with more. New Subie, Thank you.
I love your videos. You can really tell how much research you put into each case. I love the earrings in this one too! So cool 😎
He does sound like he’s giggling a little. He also has no sense of urgency at all. No emotion. He’s very calm and seems unconcerned that his entire family has just been brutalized. He’s guilty in my eyes. His story just doesn’t sound feasible. Hope he’s enjoying his prison cell. What an idiot. I wonder if his sister will ever regain some of her memory. I hope she does.
why ? imagine living with the memory of your brother trying to murder you
Probably because there was no freaking emergency. Those poor people were long dead 😭😭
I hope she never remembers that day. Imagine how traumatizing it must have been to see her brother kill her family and attempt to kill her.
@@kellybotha9294 but he's already in jail. He admitted to it
@@purplehearts144 i think it's to gain a sense of closure, but honestly we have to take into consideration if it would benefit her (knowing the truth) or if it would make things worse.
bruh that was literally a “teehee” NOT “please” there’s no way
yeah, but it sounded so artificial to me
It was please
Pl ee ee z
Yeah it doesn’t make sense saying basically, my parents were hit in the head, please. Or something along those lines, it just doesn’t make sense grammar-ally.
It sounded like suck a fake giggle though like who would say “hehee” it really was a real giggle even if it was one
I love your accent and voice. You relay the stories, the facts and information extremely proficiency (you’re beautiful looking too, which is a plus lol) Really enjoying listening to your uploads 🥰🌟🧡
First thing I noticed was the chuckle. Plus to be so traumatized that you can't move to being so calm.
Me at the beginning of the video: Oh he's cute
Me by the end: Nevermind....
Julianna Devereux Some first dates are like that too. 😁
😂😂😂😂😂
Omg everytime hahaha
same!
Is it bad that I still find him cute
The reason he “passed out” was cause he wanted his sister to bleed out before anyone could help her or have her disabled which he got what he wanted but the thing I was thinking was how come there wasn’t cameras in the house and just cause there’s a fence cameras and guards dosent mean someone inside the gates couldn’t of done it
Why he didn’t stab her again?
They probably though that we have high security gates and that will do it
I think that when he tried to wash things off
they didnt have cameras because the entire house was gated with a electric fence
@@loisacheampong3167 thats a stupid way to go about it
His version of events sounded like a movie scene and too good to be true that he magically got away with his life with minor injuries. The slowly walking up to him with an axe and him grabbing it out of the attacker’s hand sounded like bullshit.
No one :
Every South African watching this: 👁👄👁
Me being from south africa
I'm law student in South Africa and I'm here because I'm forced to do an assignment on this 🤦🏽♀️ I didn't even know this happened
wait i am confused. so he made up this whole story and he just actually killed them. he even renacted the whole ax scene.
Most murderers do make up stories?
it sounds like he went ''hehee''
nah he said please. listen he is a creep, but he did not laugh.
I hears hehee too
HeHeHe😂😭
I heard him say please lmao
That's not the only time he sort of giggles
Im from SA and there was lots of speculation at the time that the sister could be involved as her injuries was not as severe as it was made out to be. Lots of people also wondered about the amnesia as she was the only one who could 100% say what happened that night before and during the murders
