- Inadvertently found myself in a haunted ghost town at night, you won't believe why they say this old town is haunted.
Exploring this old ghost town was pretty eerie at night, I'm not one to scare easily but this was pretty creepy. This town dates back to the early 1920s, the town was essentially built just to service the neighboring mining towns. Their mining tunnels had flooded and they had long distances to carry waste material and ore to process so they figured building a tunnel from this site to the flooded mines would solve two problems. Easier said than done, they miscalculated and never hit the flooded mines - essentially wasting a bunch of money and time. The town was left abandoned. Check out this old town and why it's haunted, quite interesting who lays to rest in the cemetery below.

Doc -- you show courage and curiosity -- a rare combination. Thanks for bringing me along.
Ghost towns are so cool. Especially when you learn the history on them. Makes you want to go back in time to see them on their heyday.
That was a great little video with some good information about the town and things that had happened in the area. Thanks for sharing 👍 Have good evening and be safe 😊
Love these short videos, you do a great job researching and then creating a fun and interesting presentation into a neat package.
Hi Hannah I love your free spirit your willingness to explore Can't wait to see the next adventure
I really love the sound of your voice. It's very soothing. Great video been awhile since I've seen one.
Spectacular view...thanks for inviting us on this (ghostly 👻) adventure!
Love the Ole' Spaghetti Western style music intro... sets the scene perfectly. Must be in the high desert somewhere. Incredible scenery and sunsets.
Signed: Wish I was there... sigh... Mitch
Great job setting up that last shot. The lighting and those shadows multiplied the eeriness! Hope you found a "safe" camping spot!
Thanks for taking us along, looks like it would alot of enjoyment.
I enjoyed the history and even some cool lighting effects with a simple lantern! Very Cool indeed!
The area and the buildings just seem to speak their own tales. Too cool!! 💛💛💛
Wonderful place!!! Thank you so much to share it with us, Hannah!!!
Stay safe my lovely DR ,, thanks for all the adventure footage 😉😉
I lime the historical narration interwoven with your experience, well done.
Been there a couple of times but it's been awhile. Nice to see the buildings are still in decent shape. It's an awesome area to explore. Great video.
Beautiful vid. Haunting in more ways than one. All the best.
I'm in Cerro Gordo and it has it's moments of beauty and moments of creepiness. I love your adventurous spirit.
Didn’t one dude here on CZcams buy the whole town and he’s trying to re-establish it
Hey Doc you are at it again... WOW That was a great view.. amazing stories are behind every one of those ghost towns and mines... no ghost??
I am glad you planned another video. It shows you aren't afraid of no ghosts!
Excellent video Hannah, so interesting to see how they processed the ore and how they lived, very basic but like you said work, eat, sleep repeat. Hope the ghosts are friendly....🤞
Love your videos. So much fun exploring ghost towns :)
Great vid Doc. Probably a good thing it was still cold there no telling how many rattle snakes you would have stumbled across. In hot weather they like the shade of those old buildings. Take care.
That's so cool, love ghost towns & American History.
Sweet calm approach to what can be a scare for some 🙄 love your narration. Thanks for the post 👍😁
Hannah, great video, thank you. Also "make" yourself a shade for the back of your lantern so it will not shine in your eyes. If you use foil it will block toward you and reflect to the front. Old time candle holders had the same thing.
It was spooky when you went through the doorway and then suddenly appeared in the window lol. Great video. Loved it.
Good luck 🍀 you are one brave lady .. I would be scared all by myself alone out there.
me too
I'm so jealous, I love all your adventures.
Absolutely spectacular, have fun and be safe.
Thank you for another mini vacation, love these posts =)
A very interesting video , thanks for doing research and informing us Brits and giving that information in the tour . I wondered if there would b a cemetery . Just as in your video when you visited Bodie , i cant help wondering how hard life must have been for the people who lived there , working all the hours they could to make a living , and at the end of the day , too tired to appreciate those views . You always discover amazing places , and your commentary is a pleasure to listen too .
Thanks for the history lesson and great videography. Doc, you never cease to amaze. Thanks again.
Thank you Thomas=)
I love your positive energy. Great video!
Nice Exploration! The nighttime shots with the lantern were pretty cool.
Love these videos, keep them coming!!
Thanks for that enjoyable 👻 miners town tour, interesting how the miners👷⛏️ managed to extract the precious metals by crushing the ore with them stampers
I love stuff like this, keep em coming! I Thank you!
Great video as always Dr. Hannah
Nice tour of the ghost town, I did the same thing years ago and I should go back now with B&W camera to photograph. Look forward to your next campsite!
The cabin was wonderful, the great view was spectacular!, watch the tumble weeds! Wonder what the population was? Loved the adventure Hannah. See you next adventure.
Gotta love those creepy old haunted towns.Just need to sleep with one eye open and the lights on...Sweet dreams x
I love watching you and your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for showing us this old ghost town. People like that can't get out to places like that it brings it home to us.
A tip: you can watch movies at KaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Knox Jeffrey Definitely, I have been using Kaldrostream for years myself :)
Wow so cool ,thanks for sharing this amazing adventure with us. And yes I could imagine sitting buy the fireplace looking at the beautiful views especially if you are with me., I really love old abandoned towns .
Be nice to remodel one and sit with the coffee and listen to a fire while watching the sunrise and sunset. Nice history of the town. Have a wonderful night
Another great video Doc
Good morning Dr. Hannah, thanks for sharing this video. Hope you didn't see any actual ghost. Have a wonderful day.
I could see myself alongside you drinking coffee and enjoying my view of you!
Amen to that 🙏🏻✝️🤣
What a life... so dedicated to exploring and sharing. Well done...
Love how you present your videos.
Wow, Hannah, don't you ever get creeped out by these old abandoned places? You sure don't show it. :D Your research on the background of this and other places you visit is very enjoyable. As is the view! Oh, and the mountains, yeah. :)
Wat cool thank you for sharing! Stay safe and happy trails 👣
Love all your videos I remember seeing this place in another video I follow. Great job
Thank you!!!=)
Hi Doc!
Great Journey... PLEASE STAY SAFE
RESPECTFULLY,
Luv Ya Jimmy USAF🇺🇸🙏✈️💜
Hi Hannah,, great video as usual. Dont worry about ghost. There arent any. Unless you get scared!!!!!Great adventure. I always love them, Dave from Ohio
Thanks Hannah,, I hope you didnt encounter any ghosts in your ghost town. Like you in your adventures I have been studing many things in the past years. Things that most people wouldnt agree on. But to me they make alot of sense. This is one of them for you to ponder when your in the open spaces and look up to the sky. Where is the end of space? I came up with an actual number, 1 Septillion miles. Thats a 1 with 24 zeros behind it. So you are one of only about 7 people that know this. So your lucky. Keep up your great videos. Dave in Ohio
Love the videos can't wait for the next one where have you been?
Good video like how I feel I learned something and then some keep it up sugar love your channel 😬
Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter Hannah.🌹Have a great weekend dear.Be safe.❤️😘
Love see the places you go to. Almost like being there sometimes. All the best from the UK 😊👍
That’s a nice lantern you have in the cabin. Makes it look like daytime!
Another amazing video
Wow! The views of the mountains!
😱😱😱😱Good Luck and Goodnight Hannah
Hanna, love your videos ❤️
Very Brave! Great Production!
Awesome vid! I actually lived in a ghost town back in the 70s. Was kind of boring for a young kid, but as I look back it was pretty awesome.......
Cool video, love mining history
Loved your background music. Sounded like the beginning of a Tarantino movie. Such a cool place to check out
Another fantastic video!! 2:51 - Joshua Hendy Iron Works was a leader in the mining industry, supplying equipment to mining companies globally, including ore carts, ore crushers, stamp and ball mills, and other equipment. Many of the engineering innovations developed by Hendy became mining industry standards, employed as late as the 1970s, such as the hydraulic giant monitor, the tangential water wheel, the Hendy ore concentrator, the Challenge ore feeder, and the Hendy hydraulic gravel elevator. In fact, Hendy giant hydraulic crushers were used to excavate the Panama Canal.
I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but the airspace above where you were camping is still controlled by "Joshua" Approach Control. And now when I'm in that area looking down, I'll know that you're down there somewhere making your own history. By the way, your editing and music where incredible in this video, thank you.
Can't get enough of these old ghost towns,. have my eye on visiting one in particular. Hope the Hannah Gold-digging project is coming along. More good shyte,, thanks again.
Great shots.
loved the old tree strump
Good evening Hannah. I love ghost towns.
My favorite ghost town.
The sunsets there are amazing.
Nice Video of TC, Nevada..You should come down to Yerington, Nevada and head out to Pine Grove Ghost Town. Is going to be a lot of us there on Sunday and we are restoring and cleaning it up a bit. Restoring tombstones that have broken or tipped over. When I say a lot who knows how many will actually show up lol. Pi8ne Grover is a very interesting Ghost town. This Sunday if you are still close to Reno Area.
Enjoy what you do, in the west. Hope to move out there sooner than later. Watching your channel, is giving me itchy feet.
Yes! You should do it, no bucket lists allowed=)
Your videos and locations are epic!
Thank you thank you!!=)
Wow, that was an awesome video. Love seeing and exploring old ghost towns. Where was this one located? I might have to check it out sometime.
Love all your video's wish you had at least one or two a week. Just be safe
Cool ghost 👻 town.old abandoned towns I think are awesome.oh if the walls could talk,I bet they would carry some good tales from history. Great views also. Thanks Hannah.Be safe doll.Your still the best part of the videos, with your beauty inside and out.👍🌹😘
Joh, thank you!=)
@@DrHannahStraight your welcome sweetheart.
That looks like a lot of fun. A great opportunity for photos.
Interesting place. The view was something else!
The white powder is limestone powder. It was spread on mine floors and walls because in the event of an explosion, it would absorb the heat and possibly stop the chain reaction.
The other option is that it's a drug dealer's den and now that they know who was messing with their stuff (they subscribe to Dr. Hannah's channel, of course), they'll be hunting her down.
Dang good name you got there, my middle name is michael, TEXAS
Most mine explosions expand at 2.000 feet +- a second, I doubt that the explosion will slow down enough to check out the limestone... Would make a cool "O-ring" smoke ring blowing out the end of the tunnel though along with rocks and other items...
No, it is not limestone used for the purpose of limiting the propagation of an explosion. What you’re talking about was only used for coal mining and coal dust. This is Mazuma ghost town and they did NOT mine for coal.
I so love going to old towns and cemeteries like those.
@Grant James how do you know what Anthony looks like? ☺️
Enjoyed watching this again . Has it really been three years.
Faboulus place 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻 really nice video Hanna👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
awesome , I would love to tag along with you in some of your adventures, sight seeing Hannah. thanks for sharing, sweetie.
The building you were in that appears to be for storage was most recently used to store rock samples. One of the cloth sample bags was labeled with a black marking pen, a typical method used by geologists when taking rock samples on a property. These samples are sent to a commercial assay laboratory to determine the concentration of elements of interest. Looking at your video the sample bags were probably samples from an exploration drilling program.
In addition, the masonry building you were in was probably part of a processing and power plant. Typically a mine office would not be constructed of hollow clay tiles with a high roof. Mine offices would be constructed of wood, much like many of the other buildings on the site.
As for the white powdery material you were concerned about, can’t really say without examining it and possibly running a few tests. You took the right approach, no reason to take any chances. For example when I was doing gold exploration in SW Idaho in an old mining district we came across some boxes of old dynamite just inside an adit. Apparently a raccoon had been chewing on some of the sticks, and probably had a serious headache afterwards. But the dynamite had been sweating nitroglycerin and was highly unstable, and could have detonated with the slightest touch. We carefully removed it outside the adit, where we were going to be working, and safety burned it. How the raccoon didn’t set it off I’ll never know.
You have me so pumped up to go camping, I have set up my 4X4 to head out into the Sierras. Maybe between clouds right now but good weather is right around the corner. Thx
I love to hear this!!! Have fun, watch out for the snow coming our way=)
@@DrHannahStraight I do have an overhead camper sitting on my land up in Plumas County buried in snow. A bear broke into it so as soon as the snow melts, I will need to get up there and see if I can salvage anything :( Be safe. Watch out for trouble bears :)
Hello Dr. Hannah. Good to see you again. I just wish the video was longer.
I truly can't help but say it. I love hearing your voice. You have the voice of an Angel. I know I've said it before in comments and I hope you don't mind me saying it.
I love stories, so glad you enjoy listening=)
