The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese - Steven Wright.
"If the pen is mightier than the sword, in a duel... I'll let you have the pen." - Steven Wright.
@@Mrvictorfernandes If it doesn’t look right, then it’s most likely wrong - Not Steven Wright.
@@user2144 "If all the nations of the world are in debt, where did all the money go?" - Steven Wright.
@@Mrvictorfernandes If there is no more ketchup in the refrigerator, then I need to go to the store to buy more ketchup - Not Steven Wright.
"I have the world's largest collection of seashells, I keep it spread out on the beaches around the world. Perhaps you've seen it." Stephen Wright
Not just one of the most original comedians but he also has a brilliant delivery. Love watching old episodes of Steven on the Craig Ferguson Late Late Show. Thank you for posting this.

One of my favorite of all time. I had his album (cassette) in high school. No matter how many times I listened to it, I would always laugh.
No you wouldn't.
That same wonderful deadpan comedy hasn’t changed in over 40 years. Which is awesome.
Yes it has.
@@scarygary-qq1pj You’re Wright. He’s overflowing with exuberant emotions these days.
@@TurtleTimeVoiceOvershe's quite hyper
@@MrFlackle Yep. Hyper like a sloth.
I wear my heart on my sleeve. I wear my liver on my pant leg.

Stupid.
I got food poisoning yesterday. Not sure when I'm going to use it.
Yes you are.
Loved those title cards in between breaks on Carson.
No you didn't.
@@scarygary-qq1pjshut up
Absurdist humor at its best.
No it isn't.
I used to work in a factory making fire hydrants…couldn’t park anywhere near the place.
First thing I ever saw him in was So I Married an Axe Murderer where he freaks out Anthony LaPaglia. Love his delivery. My kind of humour.
The airplane scene was hilarious. "It shouldn't take very long. (pauses) Actually I have no concept of time."
"That's the artificial horizon which is better than the actual horizon." 🤣
@@bonwatcher "I had this dream...I was born...I was 8.5 months premature.
-shut up!"
I bought some powdered water, but I don't know what to mix eith it.
Yes you do.
A true original

@@scarygary-qq1pj You have no life?
My favourite Steven Wright line is about putting wax in his humidifier.
No it isn't.
Here he was way younger than I thought Steven was. capable of being.
The Tonight Show was generally pretty straightlaced. They didn’t have to put him on. And they did over and over again, to everyone's delight.
He was discovered by Tonight Show producer Peter Lassally.
Carson liked good comics. To be successful on Carson meant you had arrived.
Not that straightlaced. Don Rickles was a regular. As was unpredictable Steve Martin.
Believing in life after death, but without so many line ups…Steven Wright got me thinking…Like he does so many.
No he didn't.
@@scarygary-qq1pj if people ain’t thinking Wright…people ain’t thinking right.
Legend

😂 excellent !
No he's not.
Hilarious 🤣
No he's not.
❤ Steven
No.
The master of one-liners was Henny Youngman.
No he wasn't.
The master of one liners was Henny Youngman!!!
I remember that title for him, would think something in the one liner genre would be closer to Rodney Dangerfield. Steven is ok (comedy is indeed subjective), but not in the master class of comedy imho.
Whatever happened to Steven Wright I haven’t heard about him since those days gone by?
He actually just wrote a book, and he's been touring over the last several decades pretty consistently.
Why not put him on? He puts everyone else on!
😄
That wasn't funny.😢

humerus from your funny bone!
you don't know your humerus from your funny bone.
I went to school with a Steven Wright in Jamaica Plain section of Boston. I’m a little older than this Steven from Boston but there does seem to be a resemblance. I always wondered if they were related.
Hes from the Boston area. I'm pretty sure he lives in Cambridge now. I ran into him in Harvard square in the early 2000's. I lived in JP for some time. Near Forest Hills T stop.
Steven likes to reminisce with people he doesn't know so you should be in luck.
🇨🇦👽🎸👍🏼
Isn’t that the guy on the couch?
He must have influenced Anthony Jeselnik a lot!
No he mustn't have.
@@scarygary-qq1pj I think they have a similar vibe and speech tempo, but I’m not an expert :)
He reminds me of that other comedian Mitch Hedberg, so I’m guessing maybe Steven was a big influence on Mitch cuz his comedy is similar. PEACE!
No he doesn't.
@@scarygary-qq1pj It’s just an opinion, take it easy buddy.
5:50 to the end: Steven Wright out-Johnnys Johnny. He didn't know what say. He knew he couldn't be that intellectually funny. Johnny has charisma and he's good at dad jokes or the jokes you'd read on the wrapper of Laffy Taffy, but he's no good at impromptu sophisticated intellectual humor.
Not so funny
Yes, but we keep you around anyway.
@@briandeschene8424 ❤
Then don't comment blud
Maybe you have to be strange to understand his humour.
You're kidding me.
I'm surprised Johnny Carson would say that this guy is the best one liners when one of his best friends is actually the best ever Rodney Dangerfield this guy is only 10% as good as Rodney
"When you're a dog, every day is Saturday." Steven Wright.
I know he said it, but I can't find it. Let me know if you do.
