  • The second concert of Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival 2020 is a two-part historical journey into music-making at Hatfield House. Iestyn Davies and Elizabeth Kenny perform some of John Dowland’s most evocative songs in the Long Gallery while Richard Gowers performs music from the House’s archives on the organ in the Armoury.
Four concerts will be premiered on Friday evenings from 11 September - 2 October as part of the 2020 Festival. See our website for the full programmes.
Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival was recorded in front of a private audience in July 2020. If you have enjoyed this concert, please consider making a donation to support our musicians and the future of the Festival via our website.

The Organ sounds very good and Richard Gowers plays it with distinction. Very pleasing on the ear. Anything written by Handel usually sounds perfect played on the organ. Richard presents himself very well apart from the absence of a tie on his attire.

Beautiful played, but not well balanced in the recording between lute and voice. Watch it.
