Hey Doc! So glad to find a kindred spirit! I mostly use the Green Rub I get from the Apothecary at Ren Faire, both for myself and my pets- it's native American medicine made with multiple herbal extracts that he makes himself, in an olive oil base. The allantoin in the comfrey REALLY works fast to heal the skin, it's amazing! One of the best things about the green rub is that it neutralizes the pain/ sting/ or burn from whatever you've got on your skin! Even red wasp stings, pain is neutralized in less than 5 minutes!❤

My dog has a raised round spot. That’s very slushy. It almost looks like the top of a finger protector. He just keeps slipping, licking it, licking it. I’ve been wondering what I could put on it. I think I will try this.

Omg thank u so much!!! My Nico is a house cat and he snuck out when i was on my to work. When we got back home we heard him crying so loud and it looks like he got attacked and he has a wound on his leg! I feel so bad now because I didn't know not to use neosporin and it worsened his wound! I unfortunately can't afford emergency vet care so I just put coconut oil on it. I'm praying for the best because I don't wanna give his little sweet self up at all. I love him too much! Thank u for this video!!!!!

I use triple antibiotic cream from the Dollar Tree for myself and my cats.
Who makes it, I wonder? I need some sort of antibiotic for my cat. Been using Bacitracin. But, it’s only the one antibiotic type.
Keep it simple. If there is a reaction, you won't know what ingredient did it. Castor oil, oregano oil, bacitracin works best. They all kill (draw out) infection, fungal and bacteria.
I have awesome good results with oregano oil.
@eight-ball3625 You might consider using Colloidal Silver instead. It cost just a bit more than Bacitracin but it is much more effective. Also, if you're so inclined, there's quite a few videos on CZcams that teach you how to make collodial silver at home.
We actually used Neosporin to culture bacteria in when I was Microbiology!! I stopped using that stuff years ago!

My dog chewed a hole in his foot almost a week ago, it started oozing puss and became severely infected by the time I found saw it.
He could barely walk and was in a fair amount of pain I cleaned it with peroxide and Generic neosporin (triple antibiotic) and now his wound is healed and he's walking good again.
Problem is that they eat the ointment which isn't good for their stomach/GI track, but his foot is all better.

A nurse practitioner, who landed my injured hand told me that the neosporin caused the issue, and that he had seen people lose eyes over the eye cream that contains it.
I use castor oil on my dog and it instantly stops her from scratching for a few days. She’s tiny, so I am always checking her as soon as I bring her inside after pee pee, and wash off all her paws otherwise she’ll start chewing on them. I’m sure she’s allergic to grass and the dew in the morning.
Hi Sabrina, no humans should not be using it either. Skin is the largest organ of the body. Everything you apply topically goes into your bloodstream. Unfortunately things that are approved for use , are often times toxic to our bodies. Leading to countless health issues that we have been brainwashed to think is normal with aging...
We also notice summer itching from a walk in the grass seeds. I keep my lawn mowed, and just a pee on our grass can be fine, but for the long walk, every single time, I put doggy in the laundry tub and with the extension hose I thoroughly wash off each fluffy little leg and up in between every little toe to flush out every grass seed with cool water. Im allergic myself so I get it how thorough you have to be with this. Just doing this every day stopped the chewing completely. Dog loves the water and enjoys being pampered like this as I say how beautiful she is. She dries herself off on her own big towel on the patio before coming back inside and all done. I would try the castor oil if it got worse - so thanks for your comment. Handy info to have.

My go-to solution is lavander oil. Heals my doggie's itchy areas and scratches on her skin healing it pretty fast, relaxes her making her to sleep, leaves her with a better smell and if she licks it, won't harm my doggie😇
Interesting, in the past i would mix neosporin with clotrimazole (athletes foot cream) 50/50 and use it for just about everything, mainly on my horse but, sometimes on the dog. It always worked quickly on cuts, dew poisoning, thrush and scratches. I’ll have to try castor oil in the future - thank you for your tips!

Years ago my dermatologist told me not to use Neosporin as it can cause inflammation/allergic reaction at the wound site. I’d always had that happen but had t realized it was the Neo. Have use Polysporin since.
I was given CKL healing oil for a dog by my vet. But on doing further research, it's used on livestock and may have essential oils. I don't know If I should trust my vet, but I don't have an alternative for the open wound on my dog's face.
My cat has an injured paw, I've been treating it since Nov. 3 2023 with antibiotics and prednisone by my vet with no success. Any help would be appreciated.
I always go for the castor oil because I've found coconut is more hype than good.

I read evidence that the petroleum jelly that actually does most of the protection. So the antibiotic actually doesn’t do much. In any case a barrier like petroleum jelly should work

My cats also go crazy for oregano. But isn't it toxic to pets. I read somewhere so I stopped giving them oregano
@@elly3359 I doubt toxicity for dogs. Wouldn't give routinely. Only give when needed. Great for insect bites. Heals wounds quickly. Blessings
Hi sir, is betadine good for dog wounds? Because I need to know it, my dogs quarrels with each other everytime and I'm worried. I cannot buy those castor oil and coconut oil because I'm poor and am still just a student so I'm wondering if betadine is okay for their wounds.

Dr. My wonderful Fur Buddy was diagnosed with CCD. Bless his Precious Heart. I can't even begin to tell you how devastated I am. Luke and I have been apart of your community since the very beginning. I'm wondering if you would be able to do a video on this topic. I thought of a lot of things that would happen has he moved on to his later years but never considered the day might come when he won't know who I am. I know you can understand how it's tearing me up inside. He's just in the early stages but I worked for people with dementia for years and Anna where it's impossible to know how quickly or slowly things can progress. He has been prescribed acepromazine when he is really struggling or I need to take him somewhere as he is a big boy. And a venti joint and brain chews to be taken daily. I think it would be helpful for your viewers to be aware that this is a possibility. I have had many elderly dogs and although they had normal cognitive difficulties as they age it certainly didn't start this young. He's only eight. Many thanks.
Neosporin isn’t good for pets or HUMANS! Use Calendula instead for both pets and humans.

Whaaat? I have always used it and took stock in it I have so much in my fridge for that just in case, living in Mexico you can't get it, so I bought a lot of way back when. I have never had a skin reaction in all breeds I have rescued over the years and the wounds always healed rapidly. Hmmmmm. Wow.

It’s not the petroleum that’s the problem in neosporin. It’s whatever the heck the active antibiotic ingredients are.
As someone who prefers going the natural route, petroleum (jelly) is actually as natural as it gets.
It’s inert. I use it as my sole body moisturizer after I shower

@@giselafiege7169 I’ve read all the scary propaganda associated with petroleum jelly already .. using words like gasoline, petrol, fuel, carcinogenic (it’s not).. etc . I even bought into it for a while as a huge proponent of natural products
But all this bad rap is rather recent actually because it is in reality a clean, natural, and effective product.
It is all the other chemicals and additives added to the final products that could be problematic. But other than that, petroleum jelly itself is clean in it natural state.
The native Americans used it medicinally before the Europeans discovered it.

I used betadine and eventually had to get him in a cone since he wouldn't stop licking no matter what I used. Does this stuff help more or do you always have to cone your dog?
the cat is bleeding for months on his ear. he never heals because he scratches it. I tried ecollar but he goes psycho and he removes it. I don't know what to do with the cat. His ear is rotting and almost slowly dissapearing.
It is probably cancer. Is the ear mostly white? Sun can do this. The bad part needs surgically removed. I’ve been through this with my cat.
