Florida June 2023 Day 13: Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Hotel & Kennedy Space Center! 🇺🇸

- Join us for an action packed day in Florida, starting off at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, enjoying a full day at the center, showing all of the exhibits and experiences available in an out of this world experience!
In the afternoon we check in to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort to experience a night in a luxury DVC Disney Vacation Club member room with stunning Savanna and animal Views! We show the room, the resort and experience some of the unique things on offer such as roasted marshmallows! Our first ever stay in a Disney World Resort.
For dinner we head to somewhere we have never tried before, Wing Stop on the 192! They have a variety of Chicken and Wings available and we could see why it was so popular with locals and tourists! After a nice bite to eat we relax in the Hot Tub at the Resort under a thunder storm!

Mick Garvey’s enthusiasm and knowledge made this a real treat. I’ve never visited Kennedy Space Center during my trips to Florida, but I’ve been to the Johnson Space Center in Houston (Texas), which is older, and is so fascinating. MG was the perfect companion to bring. Seeing an actual launch must be amazing!

We loved staying at AKL. We didn’t stay in a DVC room, just a normal one so we didn’t have the kitchen area like you guys and we had two large beds. If u stay again, make sure you take advantage of the evening extra magic hours. You can do this if you stay in a deluxe resort. Parks will change. Just so you know, because I’m sure there will be another time 😊

Brilliant Andrew. Loved your dads knowledge. Hes not sad writing to Jim.ll fix it. I grew up watching the Moon landing and wrote to President Nixon for a photo and the astronauts autographs. Actually got a postcard from them which was amazing. Still got it . A piece of hustory. Learnt a lot from your vlog and i agree how much uts changed. Was 1996 when i last went. ❤

We had bought tickets on line in the UK for KSC for our visit last January but we had to cancel our trip with a week to go due to emergency surgery. We are due to go again January 2024 and my husband still wants to go to the space centre as we have not been for about 20 years. Your vlog has made the decision as there is so much to see since our last visit we will be going.

This is one my favourite vlogs you've done Andrew,it was so interesting from start to finish and your Dad's fascination and knowledge of NASA was lovely to watch,we haven't been to KSC since 1996,it's changed so much.How kind of Gareth gifting you a night in AKL,it's a stunning resort,we often go over Christmas for a look and a Boma breakfast,the hotel is stunning when the tree is up for Christmas.You would like seeing Wilderness Lodge too.We were gifted a 2 night DVC in the Poly too,loved it.

My mum worked for a company called spectrol reliance which made very small windings that were used in the Luna module and command module, I was always so proud to be able to tell my mates as school about that 👍🏻

I haven't been here since 1993, OMG how much has changed. I watched a shuttle launch and I acquired a small piece of moon rock from our tour. Shout out to your dad, what a mind of information. I even shook hands with Buzz. also they are launching the first moon landing for 52 years!!!!!

We were lucky enough to see a shuttle launch STS-97 in 2000 and a rocket launch in 2019. It’s a fascinating place to visit.

So loved this vlog. Two of my favourite places KSC and AKL. For next time - you must try Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. Amazing food and by the savannah! After a day at Animal Kingdom park, dinner at Sanaa is the perfect finish.

We loved it at the space centre 🙌 there was supposed to be a launch when we were there in May/June 2022 but it got cancelled becos of the weather was gutted 😢 would recommend to all 👍

I'm like your dad , I was a big space fan being born in 1959 and grew up in the Apollo space programme , and just like Paul wanted to be an astronaut, so when I visited Kennedy space center in 1999 I was totally made up , planning to go back in 2025 as so much has been added since then . Great to see via your vlog , thank you 👍🏻

We were on vacation and went to nasa and it as closed. We stopped at a 7/11 and the cashier said the launch was about to go off. I asked where can we go to see it. He said where we were parked was perfect. It was great. This was back in the 80’s.

They have night vision goggles at jambo house well worth doing and it’s free , around the fire they have a cultural representative telling African folk stories ! Lots of activities around the pool ! In Jiko they do a wine tasting for a fee very good at Jiko on a Wednesday I think ! We did lunch with a keeper over at kidani that was really good and worth the money . The pool is fantastic and Laura the pool barmaid is an absolute star . One of my favourite resorts .
Can I ask you how much it was to change your 14 day passes at Disney to an annual pass please and was it easy to do. Thanks

Honest question. How did you not have tea at the resort on you’re first night in a Disney resort?
We stayed there for 2 weeks back in 2013 when it was cheap in comparison when it included full free dining plan!
Sanaa was one of the best meals I’ve had on Disney property, where as we felt like Jiko was overrated (and a massive rip off without that free dining).
You’ve got some loyal followers to gift it, what a legend!
