That intro was prophetic. How could he have known? 😂
I think it was my massive pile of grey models waiting for attention
My piles light black, not grey
Oh, I thought he was talking to me 😂
I didn't need to be called out like this.
@auspextactics How dare you sir, all 4 armies of some minis are all painted.... in different colors of primer.
No need to start with a personal attack
😄
He's right tho
Vicious
Bro woke up today and chose VIOLENCE!
#called-out
My dozens of unpainted guardsmen watching me order another tank: "Father. Look upon us. Look upon your failure."
does sound like an actual 40k qoute
*slowly looks away from the baneblade kit i got a week ago*
Slowly looking away from my brutalis dread...redemptor dread...repulsor executioner...blood amgels combat patrol...6 eradicators
...6 bladeguard....10 hellblasters ive bought in the last 3 months@@ayy-lec6462
Same, fellow trooper, same...
I am so seen!!!
Auspex: *Explains he’s tailoring the video to armies of 500-1000 points.*
Me, with almost 20,000 points of Nids: “I definitely need more.”
40000 points of ketchup for my bugs, because they need help digesting all the local necrons
Me with world eaters: Fk warbands we are legion once more!
17k in world eaters and khorne daemons
I've poured so much money into my unbalanced Space Wolves army 😅
Auspex just calling us out with that intro huh...
I did not expect to get called out like that at the start of the video.
Your opening thoughts immediately made me think of Gary Oldman from The Professional. "EVERYONE!"
I saw notification, clicked on, and got called out
For all the Tyranid players out there:
If you are struggling to deal with enemy armour, the Tyrannofex is completely insane in this edition. The Rupture Cannon is very reliable, even against units with Invuln saves (every failure is CRIPPLING, with that average of 7 damage rapidly cleaning up big foes). I’ve played them in many games, and it has not been uncommon to pop Leman Russ Battle Tanks in one round of fire, along with dreadnoughts and other vehicles below the Knight/Titan class. Even super-heavies can be swept away by a pair of these guys. Just a week ago, they cleaned up Angron and a Chaos Knight in one game (with some help from the Swarmlord and Zoanthropes, who should not be slept on), and blasted apart Mutalith Vortex Beasts and Magnus the Red. A solid 3-0 showing from the bugs in a local tourney, with the T-Fexes doing the heavy lifting against the enemy heavies. The Exocrine also appeared in that list, and I’ve had success with Maleceptors as well, but the T-Fex is king, I promise you! Best anti-tank in the book, with close to the best durability in the standard codex at a very efficient price.
New Tyranid player here, thank you for confirming what my next purchase was going to be lol
@@samuelhayden1107 Happy to help!
the 40,000IQ play is to buy armies for Kill Team and play that, then expand them into full armies as you like
think about it:
- each kill team box nets you a full kill team (except inquisitorial agents, we don't talk about them)
- each KT is only like 6-10 guys, enough to know if you like painting them or not, but not so much you will never push through if you aren't having a good time
- kill team rules mimic 40k rules, especially in flavor, so if you love a kill team there's a chance you will love playing them as an army
- it's pretty cheap, if you use 3rd party and can get that 20% discount (shoutout Wayland games, you guys are the real mvp's) it's normally £30 a box
- once you have a kill team you can use it as a regular squad in full fat 40k
- quarterly boxes come with neat terrain and two teams for a reasonable price, and the starter set still even beats that on value by including a core rules book and the measuring things
- the KT specific wargear you can equip to make agents like the hearthkin Kognitaar or Lugger break up the silhouette of otherwise monotonous troops and provide a lot of bits for kitbashing later
- they offer a wide variety and cooler models than are available in the main line armies, for example, the veteran guard team is all DKoK infantry, made out of plastic, the void-scarred corsair team I just bought because unlike the other elves, they look cool, will be my only eldar models, but if I want I could run them in a dark eldar army or a regular eldar army
- I get to actually play kill team... please play kill team
Honestly that's how I'm building nids. Was like "maybe I should grab genestealers for killteam?" And it led me down a road to a fun list
Really hit with the off the cuff callout
5 seconds in and I feel so attacked. Auspex just declaring open war right off the bat.
The Jordan Peterson “paint your goddamn primed models” of 40k lol
Hey man I didn't expect to get called out as soon as the video starts. We don't talk about the pile of shame.
I feel attacked. How dare you start by accusing me of something so bold and so, so accurate? (Best intro ever.)
(Looks at 10 einhyr hearthguard and a hekaton still on the sprue...)
Guilty as charged.
Looks at 3 fully unpainted army’s…
Guilty as charged
Feels like personal attack that intro
man that intro really hit us in the grey area huh
Ha. Hahaha. Get it because the sprues are grey too?
I probably shouldnt elaborate jokes for others too.
That intro went hard
I wanna make a note about the hekaton fortress: you don't need to magentise it at all.
The big gun on top has 'swap-outable' barrels, so all options are available and when painted, they're enough tension so that they don't randomly fall off.
Both of the guns on the top have a little nub to slot them into, so no magnets needed.
The guns in the front ball-things are literally slotted in, so again no magnets needed.
As a World Eaters player, I have nothing to get next, because the range is so small I already own not just EVERY model, but half of the legends models too.
That's the best part about tyranids. As long as you get more tyranids of any kind, you're winning
Facts
extra idea for Admech.
I recommend buy sicarian box and build Ruststalker then mix them with some of your existing skitarii.
and now you have model ready to play Kill Team.
That opening… ‘he doesn’t need new models… he’s a very naughty boy!’
kitbashing a few marines, got a huge back log of unpainted minis ~80, but all assembled, primed and somewhat based at least... Nice vid!
I have never felt so directly and accurately attacked by an introduction. 😂
Great Video! Thanks for all the hard work.
that intro 100% felt like i was being called out haha
All factions need to buy an ork stompa. Even if you don’t play orks. Get a stompa. Just to build and paint. For fun.
If you want to suffer, don’t look for a numbered version of the instructions. Force yourself to build the behemoth with no numbers on the diagrams, like Gork and Mork intended.
I play salanders and I have an ork commando dressed up as a salamander. it's not quite a stomps but it's just as fun and I love him
Anyone interested in World Eaters: Buy the combat patrol box, build Lord Invocatus from it, and you really only need to build 10 Berzerkers. Buy Angron, buy Master of Executions, buy 12-18 Eightbound/Exalted models (3 per box), buy a Rhino, buy Kharn.
Planning WE as my second army. Going LoS, allied knights, allied demons and angron, not sure if I have any points left but lord avocado with some eightbound seems good
@@GM-rs2fv Nice! Keep in mind, the allied units don't get access to army rules, etc and you're required to have a battleline unit of daemons before you're allowed to take any other daemons. They really screwed us with that one...but I do see people use the Chaos Knight's Karnivore or Brigand, as those can be really effective.
The intro made me cry, I had to pause the video... went on a journey of self-discovery for a whole episode and clicked play after saying "We ball"
Roasting everyone in the first five seconds was hysterical! 😂
Great video, would love to see each chapter break down in a fufute video like this!
Bro caught me as I'm in the process of painting through my grey pile of shame :/
I can't believe you called me out like that right at the start
Lots of Imperial Agents are pretty great in Grey Knights. Inquisitor Coteaz is a favorite of mine right now, plus the Callidus Assassin.
got full armies of Gray models :D
ofc i'm getting more :D
i feel called out in that intro with my massive grey tyranid army
I have over half of my orks officially assembled and primed. I’ve had most of them for 15 years
That intro is savage. To be fair, my "backlock" is an order I picked up just yesterday, so I don't feel too guilty. Everything else just got a coat of primer an hour ago, ready for more airbrushing.
Hey! My Kharadron Overlords are in no rush to be painted! But yeah, Dark Angels have all my time right now....
The beginning I feel personally attacked. My "needs painted" list includes.
2k points votann
4600 pts custodians
4000 points orks
2600 points grey knights.
It's like he knows me. Srop hiding in my basement and putting me on blast.
While it takes a while completing a codex i think is a good idea. Keeps you focused and means you won't be spending on making tiny little forces, like I have unfortunately done. Now I'm focused on orks and csm
Massive backlog of unpainted grey models?
Bold of you to assume they're off the sprue and glued, my good sir.
Man straight up called us all out in the first 8 seconds and didn't even apologize D;
Wayland Games in the UK offers typically a 20% discount on GW prices and has a cheaper minimum for free delivery (Element Games is £80 for free delivery, Wayland is more like £20-25)
Thanks for the call out auspex
Shoutout to the couple of people who do not feel called out by the video intro. My 40k backlog is finished, but I can't say the same for AoS backlog.
Looking for something to get after going 1-2 comp win loss with index orks considering the codex drop :D perfect timing
For not a bad addition to a CSM army , Geting the 20 men Heresy era tactical squad and geting the weapon upgrade kit is not a bad idea. As depending on the weapon upgrade kit you can get some havoc's cheaply from a Heresy squad of marines . Another way if creative enough is geting a MK4 Heresy tactical squad and making what units you want from the bits assuming you have the properly sized base . As i did this for some chaos lords and CSM characters ,
The World eaters combat patrol box as is currently and Genestealer cult combat patrol . They are not a bad by for the points worth of models you get getting 2 or 3 of the same set . As if you have enough bits laying around you can get your money worth for the corrrect amount of time for kitbashing or conversions. As i did paint the genestealer cult neophate to be used as CSM cultist minus the Genestealer icon for my CSM to save on money for having 2 armies .
Great vid.
That what I like about my Tyranids. They have so many cool models, I just get what I think looks cool and literally try to get them all! Lol
Regardless of what army you play, do yourself a favor and pick up a box o’ Gretchin. It’s like $20 usd and was just the most painting fun I’ve had in forever. So much personality and you can add so much flavor to them and just have fun with it.
I now have 40 points of Orks to my name and I don’t regret it for a second
Long day at work, kids out to bed, sit down to relax after a stressful day…. Attacked in the first 5 seconds
I know for sure that I have a pile, GSC is coming due for its codex and almost certainly going to be getting a new combat patrol, so I picked up a few copies before I can't ever afford to run a GSC list, but until I finish my current projects they are sitting in boxes
'Over-solve' is going into the lexicon. Brilliant!
Worth remembering for new marine players: most kits come with extra weapons (Hellblasters for instance have 7 plasma rifles for every 5 marines), so if you have an excess of Intercessors you can easily transform them into other units by simply swapping arms. E.g. I myself, since I have a lot of old Deathwing terminators, and their arms seem to fit basic marines, I'll turn 9 Intercessors into Bladeguard vets by giving them shields.
Try your hand, if there's one thing marines are great at is being easy to be creative with 👍
Mine are all assembled and primed in various colors.
Intro was cheeky...but accurate 😂.
I'll have you know, my backlog of GSC is only greyish because they're all zenithal highlighted. Mind ya biness Auspex
so close on the intro! only have a backlog because i got 2000 points of new grey crack on Wednesday. here for nids, necrons, tau, marines and now Custodes ^_^
This doubles as a "What to paint next" video for those of us with big backlogs
*looks up from my assempling of centurions* HEY NOW, not need for violence in the intro.
I day may come when I address the giant pile of shame in my back bedroom.
But it is not this day.
Guilty!
My pile of shame is so large pretty sure it's become sentient and will hopefully start painting itself.
Ork boarding patrol, old ork combat patrol, stompa boyz....
And a pile of space marines.
I have a problem.
Thanks for the attack ib the intro...🥺
I recently ordered some custom Orks to fill out Bully Boyz and Green Tide detachments. I already owned a unit of Meganobz but thought they were super dated and low effort models. The custom Meganobz I bought are 10 times better looking. Same with GW’s Nobz, which I only owned because of the Killdakka Warband BF box. I ordered 2 units of 5 custom Nobz and if they’re as good as they look on the pictures, I’ll probably order 3 more so I can run 3 squads of 10 Nobz.
Since Green Tide could feature up to 120 Boyz, I needed more variety than GW’s mono-pose models, which don’t allow for either an all melee or all shooting squad.
While I was buying custom Orks, I also found some awesome “Templar Knights” models for my main Black Templars army. I was very disappointed that GW only released new Terminators in 2023 and not Assault Terminators, so I’ve bought 2 squads of custom Assault Terminators.
You didn't need to call us out at the beginning like that lol
I've only got two models waiting for paint.
edit: Should be clear, it is an enginseer and a skatros. Both assembled. Neither actually in my army.
edit #2: I should be more clear. They are the only two models I have currently and that means my grey pile of shame is 100% of the models I own.
MVB is always out of stock, and places like eBay has them priced higher than their MSRP, so honestly you're better off with converting a model into the Vortex Beast. My suggestion would be using kits like a Necrosphinx or even a Maulerfiend to do a bit of doctoring to make it look like a Cthulhu Daemon of destruction.
0:00 you didn't have to call me out like that XD
I think my next project is gonna be getting some AM-bots from necromunda and converting them into IW possessed
All of us Auspex, all of us looked over at our grey piles of shame.
I didn't come here to get attacked if the first five seconds😂😂
My nids be kinda gray
My harlequins be...mostly gray
My wolves...only a bit of gray
My knights....lotta gray
I would love to see sisters of battle on bikes. Chainswords, melters etc. Be good fast attack.
lol, I actually just finished painting my leviathan tyranids today and was wondering what I should add to them 😂
The first sentence out of this man’s mouth was fighting words lmaooo.
Mutalith Vortex is one hard model to find, been sold out for at least a year on games workshop website. Also the Lord of Skulls is crazy expensive and also sold out for at least a year on GW website. Its more than madding to get model buying advice that can't be followed.
Of Course, Imperial Knight players don't want to waste points but now that the Callidus Assasin is 100 points people might consider adding a cheap inquisitor to their Henchman Squad because if attached to a Henchman setup with a Mystic and Gunman you have a 12 inch drop denial a heavy gunner and yes an Inquisitor making them great for protecting home objective as well as maybe coming up the board and hitting secondaries.
Unpainted? A few thousand points. Grey? Two Doomsday Arks.
I got about 1000 pionts not painted and another 1000 that i just stripped cuz i didn't like the paint scheme half way thru 😅
Leftover Nobz bits + Space Marine Terminator bodies = excellent Meganobz kitbash
You can make 5 for a little less $ than the 3 you get from the regular meganobz kit
Man the immediate personal attack.
Just 3d print whatever you want and prime it and call it a day for a secondary army
As a blood angels player with tons of assault units, I think I should wait until my codex drops.
"No paint, only assemble!"
Unbuilt Rhino/Razor, 14 of 17 Vanguard box set marines, and a re-paint on metal Azrael and that's it, no shame here I can see the end of the tunnel!
Havent even finished building my Worldeaters, Im already thinking of building GSC/Votann. 🥴
Hey i'll have you know my World Eaters is fully painted and ready to go!
Death Guard on the other hand...
HEY..! Yes, I do have a lot of grey models in need of attention
Okay, the first sentence earned my like :D
tha intro felt like a personal attack
Between the intro and the fact that I ran out and bought 3 chaos vindicators my shame level is at a all time high
How dare you sir, I'll have you know it's not just a 'massive backlog of unpainted grey models'.
There's also a second massive backlog of models that have been primed too! 😅
It's called pile of potential thank you very much. Also yes it is massive as its supposed to be, how else am I going to kitbash unit of five models out of six different kits?
Me with my 2k of unpainted custodes and world eaters as well as many character models to paint for my ultramarines: ah yes how should i expand my necron army
Recommends buying Maleceptor for Tyranids. As a Tyranids player "IF I COULD I WOULD!!!" Little shits are harder to find than a piece of wood from the true cross
I didn't expect to be called out in the first line!
First few seconds and the question: All of us. 😉Now stop Pile of Shame shaming us. 🤣
I have to say, Genestealer Cults have been calling to me and the fact I haven't bought a Xenos army to balance out my trio is really the more important thing than that pile of shame that keeps growing.
When the spoilers drop for this summer's release, that's when I'll get my GSC boxes because at least then I ensure that I get exactly what I want. If the new CP is as good as the old one and the Battleforce is as good as the Custodes/Ork/CSM ones? I'll 100% buy it as my third purchase for the faction as that would give me a roughly 2k point list.
Imperial Knights need the Cerastus Atrapos released in plastic. I have no idea why it was omitted when they brought the rest of the Cerastus line into plastic.
