As someone from Europe with an American fiance, the first time I visited America I was constantly going like "OMG that's so American, so cool!!" about everything 😂
For all Americans: yes, we grew up watching movies about your school system and coming to the US and actually seeing one is the coolest thing ever. 😅 I had the SAME reaction and of course the SAME high school musical delulu 😅
In Italian high schools we don't do sports or play music or have lunch there. We usually have a science room, but we go there 2, maybe 3 times in the span of 5 years. You go to your classroom in the morning and have classes always in the same room for 5-6 hours then you leave and go home. The only exceptions are the break after 2-3 hours where you can go wherever you want and PE where we go to the school's gym, but it's nothing like you see in American shows.
We go to 8 different classrooms a day, 1 for each subject. And you also have different special magnet programs where you leave your school on a bus and then go to another campus for trade schools and gifted class stuff and then after that you take the bus back to the original school to take your regular subjects during the day. We have 5,000 students in my school and 2 different campuses next to each other but a school bus loop in the middle as the only thing that separates them. And so you can have one class all the way at the end of the west campus and then after that your next class all the way at the end of the east campus and vice versa and take you like 15 minutes to walk to each one but you only have 7 minutes between bells and so you are going to be late to each of them and they don't give af. And this with zero stops along the way to your locker or talking to people too. Eventually we did even and off days. So on an even day you take your 2, 4, 6 and 8 classes and then on the odd day you take your 1, 3, 5 and 7 classes. So with this set up if you have a boring class then you are sitting in it for 2 hours each.
I (British) spent a semester in US high school and kept exclaiming that it was just like tv too! The lockers, the school dances in the cafeteria! I was even in the marching band, all experiences that I'd never had in England.
Tbh this was how I felt in Japan. Years of watching slice of life anime seeing Japanese schools. Then I went to teach in one for the first time and it was kinda magical.
Main reason is because Everyone in Europe grew up with American films and TV series from an early age to the point of becoming familiar with things that perhaps you have never seen in person Like New York, you've seen it in so many films that you feel like you know it and when you see it for the first time it's an emotion...
@@Infertilewithaturtle you are correct. But how we explain to the people who only look the apereances and not the basic respect humans rule. Wonderful day.
This exactly how I reacted when I first stepped foot into a high school (I’m homeschooled 🤪) “this is exactly like the movies!” That was literally me lol 😂
If there's a longer version of this video I wanna see it. Its so cute watching him freak out. This also really makes me wonder what Italian schools are like.
As an Italian who grew up watching Ned's Declassified Highschool Survival Guide, I'd react the same way! Hallways with lockers are legendary for us all, lol
I took my Brazilian friends to a highschool the other day and they said “it’s just like the movies” too when we passed a hallway that had trophycases lol
Both of you like fan girls 😂 and the Ned moment 😂❤ so cute. They have a podcast or something by the way! At least last I heard they were all on a podcast 😊 you guys should go have a look/listen!
I have literally never met an Italian this sweet with a childlike sense of wonder. He's so sweet and emotionally intelligent. You literally found a gem 💎 😊.
"It's exactly like the movie! TOGETHER TOGETHER!"😂
🎶 TOGETHER EVERYONE! 🎶

What movie is that?
@@ChucksCherubs3High School Musical I think
Made me laugh so hard 😂
Carlo is more excited than the time he was at Disney World 😂
Now I’m curious how different an Italian high school looks
FR
totally different, usually old buidlings or 70s brutalism, no canteen and student stay in the same classroom, the professors move
You can see my comment
There's espresso machines in every hall and marlboro red cigarettes available in every class
@@daviderenda9211staying in the same classroom all day would drive my adhd mind insane 😂
“Where’s Troy Bolton” *starts singing high school musical* 😂😂
That shit killed me bro fr
That would have blown his entire existence! 😅
I always love when non-Americans ask: “is it like on tv?” Yes. Yes it is. 😂😂😂
“Hi little hail” had me dying 😂😂
I thought he said "hi little hell!" lol
I HIT MY HEAD STOPPP😭🤣🤣🤣

@abcPIPPO95 oh wow, that's so interesting! Our elementary schools are the same room for all classes. So that might be a little similar.
