Well to be fair, most anime adaptations only plan one season at first to see its succes rate - and then evaluate whether a second season is worthy or not. Especially in categories that are less typical/safe bets. But I think now Slime isekai has cemented itself into anime history :)

I think it just happens to be in there nature to want to serve someone worthy. Being of use to there masters seems to give them such joy.

As much as I absolutely utterly love this show, it's got insane competition with Dr. Stone and then comparing anything to Re:Zero is just not fair. The fact that we got Stone, Slime and Zero in the same season is gonna make the next several years of anime just feel underwhelming.

@@matthewevans5486 I don't want to spoil too much but the Demons in this world are associated with colors. and like every demon race in every fantasy ever there is all ways a more powerful demon. this one is the King of all the black demons! I should also point out so you do not get confused. the Demon lords. and the summoned Demons are not related in anything other then sharing the name demon. the Summons are spiritual like creatures that exist in a parallel realm alongside but separate from the world. and do not have a physical from until summoned. and of course the summoner needs an offering for them to take on a physical form. such as the 2 who summoned him way back in the end of last season. the better the offering, the longer the demon can stay summoned, and the more of his true strength he can bring to bare.
In the book it explained that the immense power to control the magic to revive just one person was beyond the realm of possibility for most humans and many of the demon lords, and Rimuru was preforming about a hundred resurrections simultaneously.

Even the Demon Lords (excluding the 1 I donât want to spoil) wouldnât be able to revive a single soul, let alone over 100 souls. What Rimuru did shouldâve basically yielded him a negative percent chance of success and killed him in the process, hence why Raphael said âUsing life force as a substituteâ but it didnât. Because his Magicule storage is practically infinite (not infinite, but close to it)

The 2 that were sacrificed were underlings of the primordial... and them being able to become one with Rimeru to provide power for the resurrection of hundreds of people is what made the primordial jealous of them. But then seeing Rimeruâs success made home want to serve Rimeru all the more, cuz thatâs something no other being had done.
And did this for âfriendshipâ and such.
I love how he went to catch his humanoid form as super speed, misses and is confused.

This is because of his (overall) good nature. And it is why the primordial demon desperately wants to be his servant, in addition to the fact that he is powerful enough to bring back hundreds of dead people from the town. Where as the only other demon lord who can actively bring people back has difficulty with doing only 1 at a time.
At this point in time the demon sees Rimeru as a near god like entity, which is t exactly wrong either.
@@aaronmathewson5522 It's important to note that this isn't because Rimuru is the most powerful, but his skillset is very suitable for the task (Beelzebubs power and Raphaels immense calculation ability combined allows him to manage souls very easily so he can res people).

The shows acts like medieval fantasy One Punch Man during at least 50% of its run time. It's still a joke.
The author hit the jackpot when he made a "civilization" genre with an Isekai. I never saw those two genres together and they worked so well on this show.

That tends to happen. When you write something as a joke, entire franchise's tend to be made. It's happened with a ton of books shows and movies. Biggest one I can think of off the top of my head is RoboCop.

This and last are best slime eps so far. And among anime episodes in general, are insanely good. Chills and smiles throughout both constantly
Agreed, it was getting a bit same-y for the episodes before the war. Now we've had a constant barrage of progression, super excited for the future episodes.
Yeah the first half of the season had a lot of building up small details that correspond to events later, so itâs hard to do progression that is understandable without all the setup. Some animeâs try to do it without much setup, but then it just kinda feels cheap and obvious if you know what I mean.

Yes. He recognizes Rimeru as still having a good heart, and his power to resurrect hundreds of people at once which no one else has ever done, he doesnât care what the position is as long as he can serve this being who to him is god like for not becoming evil when becoming a demon lord.
Well he sees the power and potential of what Rinimaru is doing. Rinimaru is unique and different something he's never seen before. The resurrection spell is rare and requires an immense amount of control and magic and here he is able to do it and then uses it for his underlings. Demon lords dont usually care of their minions. As he stated earlier when he was summoned he's been waiting a long time for a new demon lord and this one is different. Plus Raphael was brutal and just ate the 2 demons magic with no hesitation.

@@ThePolish2107 the âBlackâ demons arenât swayed by power as much as other demons, tho it is a factor. More what sways them is if they find it interesting, stimulating, or fun. Diablo knows that Rimuru has the potential to become the most powerful being in existence, and that he isnât like other demon lords. As well as that Rimuru is literally at a nexus event that has already happened in the anime, changing the very fate of the world. All of these are why he wants to serve Rimuru.

I love how everyone ignores noir over his pledge of servitude. Thatâs huge when you think about it as the demon progenitors are known as beings more powerful, feared, and respected than any other beings, is willing to serve another. Minor spoiler alert.......the reason he is willing to serve our new demon slime lord and savior is because noirâs raw power pails in comparison. Him being named by rimuru ends up evolving his power level, and even after the power up, his power still pails in comparison.
not to mention that he is not just any demon, but 1 of the 6 primordial Demons. So you saying that Rimuru currently is a lot stronger than Diablo?

He wants to serve Rimeru because while he became a demon lord, heâs still overall a good person, and because Rimeru just did what no one else has ever done... resurrect hundreds of people at once. Plus, he knows that things will be getting very interesting going forward and he wants to witness all the great things to come.

The only other person who can resurrect people is another demon lord and they have trouble with doing only one person at a time.

The vampire lady demon lord
Not gonna lie, this got me a little emotional. I think the character progression in this series is up there as one of the best, but what i really like about this season specifically is the little details they animate in. It's like the team actually "knows" the characters better..and they're giving them more personality in the small actions. Even the choices for the scenes, the panning, its way more detailed.
I cant wait to see more from this series, and I hope the animators keep it up!

Slime tensei is just your average action packed isekai fun. the characters are still paper thin in depth, and Rimuru is just your average shounen protagonist "I'll do stuff to save my friend" "let's all get along together" "I'll completely ignore the intricacy of national politics and do whatever I want regardless of consequences because I'm too powerful for people to tell me no".
Aside from being "the nice guy", Rimuru is not that really interesting as a character. he's almost too perfect, and perfect OP characters are dime a dozen in anime. flawed characters are more fun to watch.
