Great job, Nate! I look forward to the day when you two can actually move into and live in this house! How great will it be?? ❤
Your hard work is really moving things along! Enjoyed the music.
Looking so good!
Looking good you must be so proud
Good evening to both of you . I'm happy cause you have a house and land of your own.❤❤❤❤❤.
I have six children but we
dont have a land of our own We have a house but not yet finish.I hope someday we can buy tools like you're using to renovate your house,so we can fixed our own.❤❤❤God Bless
How different it was working in the dark down there. As a claustrophobic, my tummy was getting very tense. Well done you, and I hope you have now finished with below ground work.
You're turning into a pretty good carpenter Nate! I am impressed with all you have learned and how you have stuck with it. Proud of you!
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the update Nate
Amazing job! Like the music too! ❤️
That's great Nate! One day closer to moving in! Blessings 🙏🏻🤗
isn't every day a day closer to moving in?😉
You are making great progress!
Looks fantastic! Now I’m wondering if you will leave all those shim ends sticking out 🤣🤣🤣
Excelent job Nate.
wow that looks good
Oh yeah all the hard work has paid off!! Great job man. Now on to bigger and better things.
Great job 🤗
Looking good for a fall winter move in!
Hello 👋 Nate from Jackson Tennessee, holy smokes you have a lot more to do than than I I did on our ‘38 cottage in Oregon. Yes, we had to replace four foot up the walls most of the way around, but ours was still on the original foundation. I’m impressed with the progress and effort you’ve put into making this your home starting this winter. You’re doing an amazing job 👍💪🙌🤞🍀🌈✌️
Way to sturdy up the floor joists!
I like your music selection.
Nice work Nate, going to be a great house come Winter
Love the music thank you
Nothing bringing those floor down 💪💪
In the dictionary under “over engineered” it says “see Nate Kramer”😂😂
All the tricks there Nate. Blocks and shims in the hangars and under the joists. The lag bolts and structural screws. Great work to make it all tight and really well-laid and supported floor. Well done.
Wouldn't the shims be the first piece of wood to absorb moisture and rot? I can understand the pressure-treated blocks, just not the regular pine shims.
@@XtremeChiliPepper Very possible. I did put a LOT of glue in the space with expectation that the glue would be a barrier between the shims and the concrete.
@@nkraemer I saw, you're doing great so far! I know you put the felt liner between the wood/concrete, you're probably right about the glue surrounding those outer exposed areas on the shims. Either way, solid floor for a long, long time!
❤❤❤
Good job! Can’t wait to see what’s next. Keep up the hard work!!!!
looking good
Seeing lots of wood wedges going in that will swell and shrink year around, They do make a polymer wedge and the cost isn't much more, they are about all i ever use anymore!
You’re rocking it Nate, great progress and I’m happy for the two of you.
Exceptional job
How far away does Jim live from you?
Looks great y’all have done a really good job!!
I’m sure you’re not wanting to do this ever again‼️
Great video. Good music choices
Hello Nate
Wow well done! That floor will be there for a very long time to come! I can see why your so tired on your other channel when you talk about the work you have done on the floor. I would be exhausted as well. With that all done on to the top of the flooring and the interior walls. I see you both will be on the house before winter for sure. So happy for you both you guys surely deserve it.😊💪🙌👊👍😃
❤
Whew! Job is almost done. Great Work. Nate, I have a few questions if you
don't mind. Are you going to put some sort of mold prevention solution on the
new lumber?
Are those piles of dirt or concrete piled up against the concrete blocks near the
floor level? If it's dirt, are you going to remove it so that it doesn't retain moisture
in the basement? And then are you going to put in a cement floor to seal up the
dirt floor?
Just asking.
I'm not sure if I'll be spraying the new lumber with any mold prevention -- I do still have a lot of the RMR-141 which is a mold killer and preventative, so maybe I will. The dirt along the south and east wall are very slanted. The small bit of dirt on the west wall in the corner is slanted, but not by much. I'm not planning to remove the dirt along the foundation walls at this point. I did start encapsulating the basement in 2022 and never finished it. I do think I'll resume that work eventually - for now, the two dehumidifiers I have running nearly 24x7 are keeping it very dry. No on the cement floor. most likely I'll have it covered with the same 10 mil plastic I'll have up on the walls. good questions.
OP@@nkraemer
lol
Are you having the same crew of guys to put up the sheet rock, after the insulation is on.
based on earlier videos, the plan is to reschedule them after the framing/electrical wires/insulation is done...so it's very possible he could have all walls framed/sheetrocked by Labor Day weekend, if not earlier, now that he has a great support team in place.
Yes! I like their work product. and they were nice guys that had pride of work.
@@AB-ol5uz That would be amazing for sure!
From floor level which is the south wall?
The "front door" is on the south wall. The wall with the two double doors is the west wall. The wall with the sliding door is the North. and the wall that leads into the hallway is the east.
Who gave you professional direction to use ALL those shims??????????????????????
No one. I like shims. :)
Question for you -- is there anything wrong with using all these shims?
Why is it that you tubers have to have some annoying music in their videos? I hate it. I'd rather listen to the sounds of their tools than that music. 😡😡😡😡
I like the music. I'll try a video w/o the music and see how it goes one of these days.
Great job!
