Boy when she sings, she really sings. This song is so damn hot! Why the hell she ever bothered with rap I will never know. And she's one hell of an actress to boot. I almost forgot her real name trying to find the good stuff.

I remember this song by Carol Thompson back in the early 80s or even late 70s.
I suspect few are aware this song was originally done by Dr Buzzard's Original Savannah Band.....most of their albums are out of print and not available on CD. If you can find them, pay ANY price.
I wish there were more of her "Dana" songs on you tube.

This song was first done by Cory Daye the lead singer for a 1970's band Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band. Latifah hasn't even made any changes but is using the same style. The original is still the greatest this is okay.

Umm, that "rap crap" helped her get to the point where she could display her singing. And BTW, she is still one of the best female MCs out there no matter what you think of rap.
Why she even bothered to rap? Because a long with being a hell of an actress, singer...she was a great rapper, and one of the greatest female MC's of all time. I hope your opinion isn't as fickle as it was 5 years.
