Freedom of Dumfries Parade 2023

In June 2023 I ventured down to Dumfries to catch 2 SCOTS The ROyal Highland Fusiliers partake in a freedom of the town of Dumfries parade.
The bands are 2 SCOTS Pipes, Drums and Bugles and The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Sitting here at 7 o'clock on Christmas night watching this on loop what a shot in the arm after a day of total reflection on what's been quite simply a horrible horrible year for me personally a grim day I've had but now it's alot better after watching these MAGNIFICENT professional BRAVE / DEAD SMART SOILDERS ON PARADE just fantastic it's just what I needed I must say it's one of my personal fav of all your tons of video uploads now excuse me as Iam gonna watch it again Tony Fae Fife... & MERRY Christmas everyone I sincerely wish you all the best peace and good health to you all and of course you Jim cheers.

Smart as carrots. Maybe it's just me, but they seemed to really switch on when marching to the P's & D's. The brass instruments of the RRS didn't have the same effect. Helluva trek too. Well done to all involved. Thanks for filming it. SP & NO.

How long have the drummer been wearing their sporran slung back on their arses like civy bands. I can remember when they didn’t wear a sporran when marching on parade. The exception was when duty bugler or quarter guard.
