Work Play Drive I love these mats, I've had to search high and low for these and I believe I found them on eBay. I'm going to be doing an interior/exterior detailed mod review with some product info.
Awesome, I saw them in November at SEMA and thought they were an awesome looking and feeling mat and I've been trying to nail a set for a few weeks now. I think I just got a notification on your interior vid so I'll go check it now.
Let me help everyone here. Heat a large bowl of soapy water for 4-5mins let the brake pedal soak in the hot water for about 30-45sec maybe a full minute. the rubber is now soft enough to fold over. Start from the top down>The rubber is soft enough to fold out the bottom > flip over the pedal. Took 1min tops.
For anyone in 2021, soaking the break pedal in hot, soapy water is still the best method. I did the opposite of what he does in the video and started from the top, to the sides, then the bottom. Finishing with the bottom flap was easier because you have more space to work with. Didn't need tools, but I can see how having those "surgeon" tools in the video would be helpful. I got lucky on my first try but if you get frustrated just put it back in hot water and start over.
Nuts!! I just picked up my '22 Scat Pack and they were in the trunk also!! I texted the dealer and they said they dont put them on. Ive spent 45 min trying to get them on and now had to resort to You Tube. Gonna try the hot water thing.
@@irishjack7228After calming down, I boiled some water and set the part in it. Added some dish soap to the water and yes, it took less than a few minutes to put on. Dodge should revise their instructions to use that method. Thanks for the tip, I really appreciate it.
After 45 minutes of what quite possibly might’ve been the hardest task of my life i have a few tips for you guys. 1) hold the pedal over the stove for a few seconds(not too close to the flame) to make the rubber ma liable 2. Setup a miror behind the pedal to see what needs to be pryed (i used my phones front facing camera) 3) use something thinner than a flathead screwdriver
After trying to put on the brake pedal cover for an hour without success, I found something that worked for me. I brought some water to a boil and took it off the burner. I put the pedal cover into the super hot water for about 10 minutes. After that, I got it on the pedal in 5 minutes. The hot water made the rubber much more pliable and manageable.
Pain in the ass! I just did this on my Hellcat tonight... after wanting to break something, I calmed down and it popped right on. Thanks for the video!
Rydin N Style mine didn’t... they were in a box in the trunk, most likely because of the lazy dealership. My Jeep SRT came with them already installed.
Rydin N Style hahaha great idea! I spent so much time at the dealership (6 hours) that day that when it was time for me to finally leave, I didn’t think about anything else but getting out of there. I haven’t posted any videos of the Hellcat yet because I’ve only had it for a few days... but I’ve already put quite a few hours of work into it. I spent several hours removing the two ridiculous racing stripes and buffing out the residual lines, changed the air filter, completely detailed it (dealership did a horrible job), changing out the badges to the red ones tomorrow. Seriously, your video helped me calm down and not let the pedal beat me!
Ugh this is a battle…know what you’re going into before starting. But I am so proud of us that we got it on at all without trading in the car first. Holy s**t… Great video!
Great Video, but I think your anecdote about the dealer giving you "larger" instructions so you can "see it better" was the best part lol. Thanks for the lesson and the laughs.
It took me less than 5 minutes to do the brake pedal, heres how I did it. Boil it for about 3 minutes. I sprayed the whole thing with non stick cooking spray. Started with the top part and used a pry stick to get the rest on. But boiling it is key. It softens the rubber
I honestly really enjoyed watching this video. The motivational speech about not giving up and starting with the gas pedal made me laugh haha. Thank you for the help!
I got mine on in about 5 minutes with no hot water. I think it would have been easier with the hot soapy water method, but I was lazy and wanted to try it dry first. I worked it on from the bottom first, then the right side, then used my fingers to pry across the top from right to left and up the left side from bottom to top. It took a few minutes, but I finally got the top left corner to snap in. Very happy with them and thanks for this demo video!
Great video!! I got these in yesterday. I took a lesson from fitting my kids mouth pieces for football and put my break cover in a bucket of almost boiling water and it took me about 30 secs to put on. Hope this helps someone in the future.
I just did these tonight on my SRT Durango. At first, I did it as the instructions says and couldn't do it. Being a female, I ended up using my hair blow dryer to heat up the rubber of the brake pedal for a few seconds on each side. Dip it in the soapy water. I used a wider flat screw driver. Started from the top, then ended up propping the lower right corner last. Phew! Some work!!
Love the added humor. Very entertaining. I just took delivery of my Challenger 1-2019 and was surprised to find this kit in the trunk.(My salesman never mentioned it). Anyway, what I'm going to do is have a bottle of dish soap handy and just use my finger and lay a bead of soap directly around the edge of the metal brake pedal. Wish me luck !
I love the look. I just ordered mine today. Can’t wait to get them installed. Great video brother. I did read the reviews online and that brake pedal is a pain in the balls to install
Love the comment about commitment. I have the gas pedal installed, took a break to find a video that showed others having as much fun, and will get back to it shortly 🤣
Not sure if you know this but they make a little one for the park brake as well www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Charger-Challenger-Magnum-Chrysler-300-Emegrency-Brake-Pedal-Pad-OEM-MOPAR-/190666228868?vxp=mtr&hash=item2c6497c484
I installed mine by soaking the pad in a hot bowl of water for a minute. First I got the right side slipped over and that top corner then the bottom followed by the left side with the help of a shorty flat blade screwdriver. The top is real hard but once you get the top twp corners worked over it is just a matter of prying the rest of the top lip over with the shorty. Each side gets progressively harder to install. I went to the middle area of the top lip and worked it over then just fight the rest over. You have to get up on top of it dude and be all man with it but it's really nice when your done. Thank God the gas pedal is easier. I did not have enough left in me if they both would have been that hard. One battle wound later and done. Took me about 5 - 8 minutes on the brake pedal cover install after figuring what order worked best for me. You have to keep pressure on the pad along the way while your working it on so it does not come back off during the process. Soap might make it easier or a small piece of kite string loaded into the pad and used to pull the lips around kind of like a window rubber. Did not try these two methods but after thinking more about it may be worth a shot. Good luck guys.
@@RydinNStyle Hi RnS, Yeah it's really good they are hard to install because you sure don't want it coming off when your standing on that b_tch after jumping up to 120 mph on the interstate topping a hill and the traffic is dead locked in front of you on the other side. GREAT ADVICE FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL!! 4reals, Ur attitude about patience & perseverance is an awesome outlook and should be utilized in all of life's challenges. Nothing feels better than to finish what you started and then saving $50 dollars from paying another man for doing what should be something one can do for oneself. Unless one has back trouble, than I can see paying labor chargers at A dealership or maybe ask A friend or family member. I just bought A 2019, 1320 scat pack and the same covers came in A box that was in my trunk. They look better, but now I get why the salesmen at the dealership didn't bother to tell me about them because I would of said "putting them on since I just handed you A cashier check for $45K".
I have lost all feeling in both my pointer fingers and have cursed for about a good half hour straight. I read through comments and they somewhat helped. Combined them. Gotta coffee cup threw the shit in there and poured some hot water in. Let it sit, flipped it around a bit. Then hot potatoed it outside. I started top to bottom, get the top and sides over and then reach in the bottom and pull like you're life depended on it. I smashed my fingers between the brake pedal and cover bur I couldn't get it on any other way. In retrospect its probably best if you get the left side on, and then move around to the passenger side and pull the rest on. It's a small space and the steering wheel just adds even more frustration. The gas pedal was great in comparison.
@@RydinNStyle thank you sir, it is a mission. Next time either the car comes with it already installed or forget it. My uncle didn't want to put his on his challenger so he gave them to me... so it was free but I still paid the price in the end lol
Pro Tip: Had mine on in 5 min. Use your cellphone front facing camera. You can see exactly where you need to pry with the screw driver. I thought mine was fully on until I broke out the camera to check and sure enough most of the top and the corner was still not on.
Great video. Excellent narrative about taking it to the dealer or just driving with no brake pedal. Had me laughing. This is not going to win, I am going to win. Thanks for the info and the laugh.
Save yourself the hassle and pain by using a HEAT GUN. Heat up the rubber on the back to make it pliable then quickly start working your way bottom to top. It should take 5 minutes or less to do it this way. You can also spray some soapy water on the metal brake pedal itself to aid as lubrication.
I didn't have the instruction sheet and was pretty dubious about soapy water making things better--I could just imagine it making it harder. What I did was run my utility sink water until it was steaming hot, couldn't touch it, and put the top lip under it for a minute or so. I put on a drop of dishwashing liquid but most of that may have been washed away. Used my bare hands. Victory!
I ended up cutting a few pieces off the brake pedal inner membrane. Made it way easier , its on solid enough, if it comes off ill add some epoxy or some ticky tack to the equation
Thanks for everyone recommending the hot soapy water method, it worked easy, but this was after I realized the KEY is water should smoking hot almost boiling! If you can’t feel the rubber able to move the water isn’t hot enough! go back and make hotter , if not your wasting time and won’t work..and I used no other tools.. mission MF accomplished!
Picked mine up a few days ago. Also got the parking brake a dead pedal due today When I installed covers like this on my 350Z many years ago, my finger nails hurt for a week because of the clutch and brake pedals. 100 f bombs later they went on. Imagine working at the factory doing nothing but this for 40 hours a week. Im sure they have a special tool..
No shit right. Tried hot water and soap. NOPE. Tried doing top first, then tried bottom first all bs. So I cut those tiny slots all the way to the edge to allow more flex and sprayed an ass ton not really of wd40 on it. The sides are on, the bottom is on and that bitch top is halfway done. I had to take a break before the neighbors called the cops on a fouled mouth nut job gas pedal of course took10 seconds..
I simple put the break pedal in bowling water for a 1minute and 40 seconds and right away take it out of the bowl and attempt to put it on. Put the top on first and with a little bit of force pull the rubber of the bottom 2 edges and wiggle it on. Took 3 minutes and got it on. The pedal will be a bit hot so I recommend using gloves when installing so it does not burn your hand.
Me and a friend installed in in literally 30 seconds.. Cut two vertical slits on both sides of the top row, duct tape the top flap of rubber back as far as you can, slip the bottom part on and rip the duct tape off, installed, easy and fast without having to spend time doing anything else.
I ordered a $29.95 vs $51+ pair, not an original (Mopar) part off Amazon and the install on my 2014 Ram was easier, looks great with less frustration. I soaked them in soapy water for 15 mins and put them on. They are aluminum and appearance wise the same. May want to check it out before expending those dollars.
Dan Kovelkoski 3d design on the mats, either eBay or Amazon but I had to do some digging to find these. I did a video on my interior mods that shows the fitment and color better. I think it was my 1 month mod recap video
Heat up a large bowl of soapy water for 4-5mins amd let the brake pedal soak in the hot water for about 30-45 secs. Rubber is now soft enough to fold over. Start from the top down - The rubber is soft enough to fold out the bottom - flip over the pedal. Took 1 minute.
Definitely use the soap it makes it a ton easier and you will need a set of picks. It is a challenge, don't let it beat you. I just installed a set on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
It's honestly just an aesthetic look that people can admire if they see the inside of your car, it gives it that sport car look. I suppose it could provide grip if your shoes are wet.
Just a heads up with what I did. Took me five minutes to do this and install. If you have a steaming iron. Place the brake pad on top of a towel with the rubber part facing up, and apply hot steam from the steaming iron in order to soften the rubber from the pad. Do this for about 30 sec -45 sec and be careful not to burn yourself. This will allow you to open up the rubber extremely easy and installation will be smooth. After you apply hot steam to the pad, make sure the pad is not burning hot before you pick it up. Try to install the pad immediately while the rubber is soft. Once the brake pad is installed, grab a big bowl of ice water and dip the entire brake pad for about 30-45 sec. This should harden up the rubber again to where it was when you received the item. After that just dry the whole pad, and make sure it’s installed correctly. Took me less 5 mins to put the pads on.
It does work for the brake pedal,I boiled water with soap for 5 minutes then I let it soak in a bowl for 2 minutes and I put more soap around the base where the pedal goes and slipped right on ,it’s true it took 1 minute to put on.
Hey man. I was wondering how these have held up over time. I ordered some off Amazon but they were cheap Chinesium knockoffs. The rubber pieces all tore off so its completely flat. I want to order the mopar ones. But I was wondering if they did the same thing
I just ordered a set of these for my car. I remember I had replaced a brake pedal pad for a 1986 camaro I had a long time ago. It was a pain in the ass and I did it with no tools and just my hands. Its the same thing pretty much. Im just gonna use hot soapy water and my hands this time.
Installed the overlays today. I started doing it with no tools or anything and started with the brake pedal first. It was difficult and about 5 minutes into it the landscapers showed up and I had to stop and close up the car. I went and started to boil some water and then put the brake pedal in the pot along with some dish soap. Had the brake pedal in the pot for just a few minutes and installed it. Was much easier too install with no tools and took about 9 minutes. Just need to be a little patient and work the rubber around the pedal.
Hey Ryan, I know it's a little too late but i think that spraying some silicone on the brake pedal, wiping the excess off and then placing the new one on would have been a little easier and neater. But hindsight is 20/20 😁
Rydin N Style i actually put my pedal covers on today. In fact, all i did was spray a little silicone on my finger (so it wouldn't be so messy) and it literally took less than ten minutes to put the brake cover on. I'm not sure if you have the emergency brake pedal cover but I myself went and ordered it on Amazon just to complete the look. Awaiting that project. 😁
Just put these on a 18 Challenger- Wasn't to difficult - Gas Pedal just snaps on easy. the Brake Pedal needs to soak in hot soapy water for a little while . Gas Pedal went on with just my hands, no screwdriver needed. Start on the top and then work sides and bottom. Be careful the metal brake pedal is pretty sharp.
Thanks for the video, the instructions are worthless, lots lots of patience. I use a computer screwdriver it was easier to manage in the area around the pedals. I put the brake pedal in hot water for a minute; this softens the rubber. Once I had the three sides in place starting from the bottom as suggested. I used the computer screwdriver to leverage the rubber over the metal from left to right. Once I figured it out it did not take me long to install.
Picked up my scat. Found them in the trunk. You figure the dealer would have installed. Either way, pain in the ass at first. Hot water and soap and it was on in 5 mins.
Took about 15 minutes. I was struggling with the first top corner after getting the other three sides on. Took it off, slid right side on, wiggled it to get the bottom on, then left side, then after a few minutes with a screwdriver popped the rest of the top on.
@@RydinNStyle I did it! I cheated though. I sit the top right corner of the pedal so it slipped over more easily. Still on tight enough to not come off. Ridiculously hard…
I just bought the challenger 2022 and this is not difficult at all I'm a female 44 yes and I used a flat head thicker screw driver i started from the top and finished at the bottom from side to side 15 minute all i took drinking wine very simple for me

Diesel Juarez jr yes, some say they used boiling water...or boiled the rubber somehow. Great idea 👍
HarrisonVokills... thanks i used a hair dryer and a little car wax spray. 5 minute install for both pedals :-)
i soaked the brake pedal in scalding hot water, it softened up the rubber and made instal a bit easier
Victory!
Haha, why couldnt it just snap on like the gas pedal...that would be too easy
Because of you i won't give up
Jamal Ward win the battle and stay strong 💪. It is worth the effort I'm the end. 👍
Great vids, man! Awesome progress. It's always great when it's you who actually did it. Saves money too!
Thanks for the video/instructions. That gas pedal cover install was a sweaty pain in the ass!! Haha. 🚗
Gas pedal was easy, that brake pedal was unbelievable haha
@@RydinNStyle See, I was so riled I even said the wrong pedal!! Haha.
Haha, I knew there was a reason they just put them in the trunk lol
Excellent tip
Thank you very much, this was useful to me!
Awesome to hear!
Me and a friend installed in in literally 30 seconds.. Cut two vertical slits on both sides of the top row, duct tape the top flap of rubber back as far as you can, slip the bottom part on and rip the duct tape off, installed, easy and fast without having to spend time doing anything else.
Immensley helpful. Thanks!
Awesome 👌
I spent half an hour to install the brake pedal, but it’s OK. not easy but now it look great
Did you still start from the bottom?
Looks good bro . Thanx for the video
Brandon Parrett awesome, thanks for checking it out
I ordered a $29.95 vs $51+ pair, not an original (Mopar) part off Amazon and the install on my 2014 Ram was easier, looks great with less frustration. I soaked them in soapy water for 15 mins and put them on. They are aluminum and appearance wise the same. May want to check it out before expending those dollars.
Can the pedals be installed for all dodge cars ? For example I have dodge challenger 2010 and I found gas pedals for derango. Can they fit ?
I haven't seen Durango pedals, but I'm gonna say they should be pretty universal
@@RydinNStyle I was searching online and I think they differ. You can check it on amazon. Anyway I appreciate your quick reply 🙂
Great video! Sometimes the struggle is real...but worth it! I'm looking forward to doing this mod!! BTW what molded floor mats do you have?
Dan Kovelkoski 3d design on the mats, either eBay or Amazon but I had to do some digging to find these. I did a video on my interior mods that shows the fitment and color better. I think it was my 1 month mod recap video
hi cut you tell me where can i buy this cover, and what it’s a price?? thanks
Awesome advice, we've all learned a lot over the past 5 years #evolution
Awesome , you make it look easy lol
Easy? Lol 😆
I just ordered the emergency brake cover looking to get the gas and break padle
Rydin N Style I'm excited about have getting it done
Just switched mine out with this same set. Max time, 17 minutes without soapy water!
I sprayed the brake pedal itself with WD-40 and the brake cover went on very easy
I set the brake pedal in the sun, rubber side up, for about 5 minutes and it went on without any issue or struggle. 👍
That is an awesome idea to soften the rubber, thanks for sharing
Definitely use the soap it makes it a ton easier and you will need a set of picks. It is a challenge, don't let it beat you. I just installed a set on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Tim Rees this was definitely a beast to install. I'm glad it's finished.
About 2.5 hours later I finally got the mf'ing brake pedal on. It's times like this I wish I was an alcoholic.
Lol, this is how alcoholics are made
Once these are on, how do people like them? Do they change the pedal feel? More grippy/less grippy? Is it an improvement?
Bryan Arcos excellent tip for sure, thank you 👍
swear that was the hardest installation ever!
It sure was, but victorious in the end *beats chest*
Rydin N Style i got a small lip to get over left i had to call it quits
It does work for the brake pedal,I boiled water with soap for 5 minutes then I let it soak in a bowl for 2 minutes and I put more soap around the base where the pedal goes and slipped right on ,it’s true it took 1 minute to put on.
Awesome vid bro stay up
Thank you
this pedals work in GT model,or just for scat or RT
They're universal for all Dodge cars
I really like those. I may have to see if they have them for the Durango. And damn Imports!
666Slash I try not to buy mopar as it's way overpriced, but in this case, mopar is the only company I found that makes these
Hey man. I was wondering how these have held up over time. I ordered some off Amazon but they were cheap Chinesium knockoffs. The rubber pieces all tore off so its completely flat. I want to order the mopar ones. But I was wondering if they did the same thing
I got the oem mopar ones and they've withstood the test of time
@@RydinNStyle alright. I’ll order one of the mopar ones. I think the Amazon ones lasted me 2000 miles and all the rubber tore off.
Thanks for the info
Do you have the link for these ?
Does it work for a Dodge avenger ?
It should
@@RydinNStyle Okay Thanks
Inspirational
😆 thanks
Just found a pair of these in my trunk by the air pump. My lucky day
Haha, it's sad they don't install it for you or even tell you that you have them and where they are
Very helpful. Thanks for the information.
Awesome, the struggle is real
I just ordered a set of these for my car. I remember I had replaced a brake pedal pad for a 1986 camaro I had a long time ago. It was a pain in the ass and I did it with no tools and just my hands. Its the same thing pretty much. Im just gonna use hot soapy water and my hands this time.
Humanoid 77 it's definitely a tough mod for the brake pedal, gas pedal was easy
Installed the overlays today. I started doing it with no tools or anything and started with the brake pedal first. It was difficult and about 5 minutes into it the landscapers showed up and I had to stop and close up the car.
I went and started to boil some water and then put the brake pedal in the pot along with some dish soap. Had the brake pedal in the pot for just a few minutes and installed it. Was much easier too install with no tools and took about 9 minutes. Just need to be a little patient and work the rubber around the pedal.
Excellent tip to install
Thanks. Have you put any tint or tinted overlays on your rear taillights? I just ordered some smoked/lightly tinted overlays for my car.
Humanoid 77 I did, I put the luxe brand on the tail lights and side markers
I wonder if the old rope trick would work on these?
Julian Rada some say got water to soften rubber worked best, others swear by just good 'ol fashioned brute strength
thanks!
Appreciate the video. Me and my dad spent about 2 hours of blood sweat and tears. Fuckin finally did. It!! Time for celebration tokes!!!!
Errol Kane it's pretty crazy with the amount of effort required just for the brake pedal. I wish it clipped on like the gas pedal.
Rydin N Style I know right. Wassup with that
Make it easy on yourself rub straight soap on and under the brake pedal and also on the metal part of the pedal ,makes life alot easier
Awesome tip! 👌
Thanks for the help. My hands hurt, by the way. Job is done though!
Dam I went through the same process. I even ask the same questions and had the same doubts
eunit08 one of the craziest little things that needed to get done, who knew the brake pedal was going to be so tough.
Rydin N Style yea. Too bad the instructions sucks. Didnt help either
Seems hard man lol
Hey Ryan, I know it's a little too late but i think that spraying some silicone on the brake pedal, wiping the excess off and then placing the new one on would have been a little easier and neater. But hindsight is 20/20 😁
For sure, that might have been a lot easier
Rydin N Style i actually put my pedal covers on today. In fact, all i did was spray a little silicone on my finger (so it wouldn't be so messy) and it literally took less than ten minutes to put the brake cover on. I'm not sure if you have the emergency brake pedal cover but I myself went and ordered it on Amazon just to complete the look. Awaiting that project. 😁
Where did u get those Matt’s
dashMTV it was either Amazon or eBay by 3-d design
Just put these on a 18 Challenger- Wasn't to difficult - Gas Pedal just snaps on easy. the Brake Pedal needs to soak in hot soapy water for a little while . Gas Pedal went on with just my hands, no screwdriver needed. Start on the top and then work sides and bottom. Be careful the metal brake pedal is pretty sharp.
TY 😊😊
YW lol
Thanks for the video, the instructions are worthless, lots lots of patience. I use a computer screwdriver it was easier to manage in the area around the pedals.
I put the brake pedal in hot water for a minute; this softens the rubber. Once I had the three sides in place starting from the bottom as suggested. I used the computer screwdriver to leverage the rubber over the metal from left to right. Once I figured it out it did not take me long to install.
Tigre M definitely one of the more challenging mods until you figure it out. Looks good once installed.
Rydin N Style Yes they look great, it was worth the sweat of putting them in.
not gonna lie i was dying laughing at some points during this video
Matt Falcone haha, the struggle was real
Will these work for dodge dart
Yes, I'm sure they are universal for mopar vehicles
Does anybody else gas peddle stay kinda lose? like its not enough clips.
Gas pedal snapped tightly into place
This was a huge pain for me.
johnnypro it was definitely a huge pain, I wasn't even going to sugar coat it.
Picked up my scat. Found them in the trunk. You figure the dealer would have installed. Either way, pain in the ass at first. Hot water and soap and it was on in 5 mins.
Link for it?
Took about 15 minutes. I was struggling with the first top corner after getting the other three sides on. Took it off, slid right side on, wiggled it to get the bottom on, then left side, then after a few minutes with a screwdriver popped the rest of the top on.
Yes, this was like surgery, but looks good once its on.
“This is your battle! This is your journey!” 😂👌
Ryan Coffelt nothing short of a battle on that brake pedal cover...but I was Victorious! Haha
This was a battle. You have won. I haven’t yet…
Haha, you must win too
@@RydinNStyle I did it! I cheated though. I sit the top right corner of the pedal so it slipped over more easily. Still on tight enough to not come off. Ridiculously hard…
@@PhillyT1977 bottom line...you won! Awesome stuff, now enjoy that sporty new look
Where do you purchase these
I got them online, either ebay or the Mopar parts store, I can't remember
😎
BaldBlackBearded thanks 👍
I just bought the challenger 2022 and this is not difficult at all I'm a female 44 yes and I used a flat head thicker screw driver i started from the top and finished at the bottom from side to side 15 minute all i took drinking wine very simple for me
Haha, wine will definitely provide thr proper lubrication for this project to go a long easier lol
