Parker’s story
A mysterious, painless lump on his leg sent Parker to CHEO in August 2022 for a series of scans and biopsies. This nine-year-old multi-sport athlete’s life changed in a moment with a diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. What followed was an intense treatment protocol of chemotherapy, radiation and an elaborate surgery that involved removing the cancerous bone from his leg and transforming his ankle into a knee joint so he could resume his active lifestyle. A passionate hockey player, Parker is already back on skates and has his eyes on the future.

L'histoire de Parker
Une bosse mystérieuse et indolore sur sa jambe a conduit Parker au CHEO en août 2022 pour une série d’imageries médicales et de biopsies. La vie de cet athlète multisports de neuf ans changea en un instant lorsqu'on lui diagnostiqua un sarcome d'Ewing, un type de cancer des os. Un traitement intensif de chimiothérapie et de radiothérapie s’est ensuivi, ainsi qu'une opération chirurgicale complexe consistant à retirer l'os cancéreux de sa jambe et à transformer sa cheville en articulation du genou afin qu'il puisse reprendre son mode de vie actif. Joueur de hockey passionné, Parker est déjà de retour sur ses patins et a les yeux rivés sur l'avenir.
