Good story boys! That’s my handwriting in the divider !! The prices on those cards were from 2010 right before my stepdad

What amazing cards! I started collecting sports cards in 85. Got out between 1994-2001. Only saw a few great vintage cards and dreamed about owning just one hofer. Flash forward to 2014, Im gifted some 5000 cards 1959-1981 with no stars. The bug hit me again. Well here I am in 2023 and now I own all the 1974, 1976-2022 sets, and have 11 vintage Mantles! (1956-1969) Im under 5000 cards away from 1948 Bowman-1973 Topps! I even have about 80% of all the topps Basketball, Football and Hockey 1948-1990! I love thos hobby, but theres something so magical about the 50s and 60s cards.

Thanks for the fun video. Brings back memories when I first went to card shows in the early '70's and saw so many boxes of cards from the 1950's. I had little interest and only wanted my favorite players who were active and playing in the 1970's.

Wow! I had one of those 59' Topps Willie Mays cards back in the late 1980's.. I picked it up very cheap at a card show I attended.. Think I paid around $80 for it if my memory serves me. Wish I still had it today.. 😪

The Mantle rookie was a double print so at one time, there were a lot of them out there relative to other cards in the set (there were other DPs in the set though), so the value is a bit disproportionate, even for a star rookie.

Ack! The video ended without saying how much you paid! At least tell us how many you sent to PSA and what the 52 Mantle graded.

    Hmmmm
So if people didnt abuse their mickeys & throw them in the trash, they wouldnt be rare, would they?
Maybe the whole 1980s baseball card bonanza was a hoax carried out by rich people. If so they sure did convince a whole lotta folks to pay thousands, millions(!) of dollars for pieces of cardboard.
