This Corolla T-Sport is Toyotas answer to the Honda Civic Type R, hot hatch. While the Corolla is not as well known as its rival, these cars offer a similar driving experience with a VVTL-I engine, which works in a similar fashion to its Honda rival with variable valve timing and cam profile (Hence the VVTL-I where the L stands for lift). With a red line north of 8000rpm and a raucous, race-sound from 6000 rpm this car is a fun and spirited hatch to drive.

I really love these cars because they are fairly rare, have aged well and thanks to Toyotas legendary build quality, they have stood up to the test of time. Our 78k mile example has been dry stored since 2019 and is being wokshop prepared for sale so will come with a brand new MOT on purchase. The car is in excellent condition throughout with an immaculate interior that is completely original, apart from an upgraded stereo system for a more modern unit. I love the grey and red sports seats which don't just look fantastic, but are also superbly comfortable and offer excellent lateral support to ensure you don't get thrown around during high speed cornering. Both the tiny 3 spoke steering wheel and 6 speed gear knob have a superbly tactile feel, and have red stitching on the leather.
The exterior has benefited from uprated 18" wheels and has a gorgeous deep shine which I have tried to capture in the pictures. The only real blemish that we noted was a small ammount of lacquer peel on the rear spoiler - but this is not detrimental to the kerb appeal of this car.
I do believe this car will stand head and shoulders above the other examples you see advertised, and has to be one of the nicest of its type that we have ever come across. If you are craving an old-school hot hatch - light, powerful and eager to please - The Corolla T-Sport is an excellent choice. As well as ferocious performance above 6000rpm, the T-Sport is smooth and quiet lower in the rev-range, and it benefits from Toyotas legendary reliability and build quality. As a result, the T-Sport is a retro-hatch that you can happily use as a daily driver in 2023.
