The Decade was my first amp!!!!! Great little amp
Yuuup, great demo track! I have that same black gibson :)
Killer demo!
Backstage 30 was my first amp along with a EH power booster!!! Played with a Tiesco 4 pickup guitar!
Great tones. I like that explorer
Nice effects. Maybe i'll get one soon.
Makes me want my old crate again
I love the idea of the decade pedal. I wish they could drop the price in half. It sounds cool but, not good enough for the price tag. Maybe someone can make it w/o the speaker amp & fancy enclosure.
Nice!
I have a Peavey PA system I bought in the mid 90’s.
i've owned a Decade since the early 1980s and have been inside it for different reasons.
Nice to know a simple, sparse (and typical) op-amp pre-amp into a power amp IC has achieved such acclaim!
Translation: there's nothing special about this tiny Decade amp's circuitry. It's a simple textbook design.
The tiny (and tinny) speaker was its only weakness.
I'm not raining on this parade. To see the humble Decade in such a spotlight of re-creation really warms my heart.
I played a "backstage" as a keep and I loved that amp.
@@jamespatrick3462 I think its got the same gain stage. I gotta say this pedal sounds better than my Decade I had as a kid.
Thank you for answering about the circuit! I figured it would have to be a very simple circuit to keep the cost down.
Was the speaker a weakness, or the secret.
@@bmoneybby my Ibanez Les Paul knock-off always sounded raspy and cheap thru that tiny speaker, whether clean or saturated. My bad for never checking for a better, recommended speaker replacement, but a bigger amp came my way and i rarely played the Decade again.
It was funny, Nick used it for bass, but it's only half the tone - there's an Ampeg SVT that sounds 90% of the way there, and you only get that bass tone with a Coles 4038 ribbon mic! And - Josh used the Peavey standard 260 with an Ampeg cab, not this little peavey! So much misinformation and stupid hype out there. Props to Acorn for trying to kill the hype on this amp and make the sound available for everyone.
Sounds made up bro lol.
Love my Bandit 112 Plus I use the Rat pedal.
Cool place!!!
I have a Peavey Companion 15 which is similar to the Decade. Wondering what the differences are?
Just buy a peavey rage now before they are too expensive they're very similar to this and sound great
Wow, I grew up playing a 75 watt Peavey amp just like this. I eventually sold it or something. Now I have a 20 watt used Peavey from the 90s as well with the same aesthetics, although I don't think it has the rage branding I don't know for sure.
This thing looks cool as hell.
Where'd you learn to solo like that?
can it run on 9 or 12 volt DC?
Where are these available? I checked the site and ebay and didn't see any

What came first this or the ten years decade pedal? Also why would someone want to have their amp sound like a Peavey Decade??
To bad the pedal wasn't $40 like the amp used to be.
Yeah it's hard for me to justify paying $300 for this when the Orange Terror Stamp is $200 and has a tube preamp. This Peavey Decade recreation is not priced like a solid state amp.
actually, in 1980 the decade sold new for $150ish. there were a lot of cheaper practice amps available at that time, the decade wasn't the cheapest but it was the cheapest peavey.
Wish they'd fit a BANDIT in a cheap affordable pedal.
I think Master Effects make something along those lines - called the Marauder IIRC?
I still have an og bandit 112 with the mesh back black widows in it. You can't kill those things.
This pedal isn't cheap. It's $200 pre-order.
@@ramonw9430 it's all relative. Sure it's not a Boss-priced pedal, but at the same time it's hardly a Klon...
It does sound pretty damn good so ultimately if it's what a person is looking for, all power to them and the cost isn't an issue.
Master Effects does a Peavy Bandit pedal called the Maurader (Dave Thompson called it first). I have the Maurader. It's glorious.
I have a few Master Effects pedals and they are well designed and enginered (pretty much exact copies of the amp circuits, IIRC), well built, and sound really good.
you should try a JOYO 20 watt tube head I have a Mesa & Orange, & ENGL clone
Awesome amps. I have the Meteor. Love it.
its not a tube amp .
Reminds me of a rat pedal! Sounds great! Proof that anything can sound good in the right context
Seems like you could use any small combo practice amp and put a Rat in front of it.
Pretty cool concept but the graphics are horrendous.
It just looks like an 80s Peavey.
A lot of background noise.
The world grew up with rages yet some how, homme ended up surrounded by decades
I'm older. I grew up with Decades.
Lol. Get a real decade for that price.
you can't just run hat into a cab?
Hope it don't cost $200 cuz that would b a ripoff.
Its only $299. Lol. I will have a clone made on principle alone.
I just msgd a friend in ky cuz the pawn shops where we are from have tons of old peavey stuff and they aren't really savvy about things like josh homme effecting the market. There's a killing to be made.
Save yourself a trip to the website ;) maybe it'll be cheap used in a couple years although it'll depend on how many they make.
@@captainkirk70 try a JOYO 20 watt Mesa or Orange clone
@@crazyuncleted5817 , I've got the JOYO Orange clone. Its one of my favorite amps ever. And I have a lot of vintage amps.
Boss heavy metal H2 is better I think but it's not too bad
