I don't blame them not investing.
200k rent, 2 full timers 80k, 1 manager 55k, a casual 20k. 355k per year there alone not including insurances fit out marketing. First time entering retail no proof of concept, going into competition against your wholesale customers you might lose them. Having to move 400k+ a year is about $1100 per day.
Not impossible. But also not worth the risk, if she offered some equity in the wholesale business to give some promise they'd get some money back it might be worth a punt, but to only invest in the retail side you'd be crazy.

She wants to re-focus her business so she can feel 'fulfilled'??? Sorry folks, this smells to me like she's hemorrhaging cash somewhere and looking for a complete change because she believes her wholesale business is not sustainable.

It drives me nuts when the sharks or dragons say I'm out, and the entrepreneur responds "thank you." Like, wtf? Yes. Thank you for not investing in me. 🤮

It's so uniform across Dragon's Den and Shark Tank, I think they are told to say by the producers. Sometimes they go a bit far with an enthusiastic "Thankyou!!!", as Sharks/Dragons quickly drop out, and then can look a bit silly.
