IAS officers ko 20+ lakh milta hai per month...salary is just for name sake. But your husband's final earning is that salary only with no power. IAS officer or even any group B officer like inspector ears a lot of money per month and has power too. Btw my cousin brother is an income tax inspector and he earns rs5-6 lacs per month on average, it's been less than a year since he joined .
If corruption and bribery is stopped by govt and public servants start behaving like public servants instead of dictators ,IAS and IPS aspirants will reduced hundred times for sure .

After working 5 to 6 years for only one exam where your success ratio is too much less and at last if you can crack the exam you would get only 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakhs.
