I feel this is incorrect. Momoshiki wasn't trying to save Boruto, he was trying to save himself so he could later psychologically take over Boruto's mind and body, which he tried to do on several occasions. That was his plan at least. He certainly didn't "sacrifice" himself to save Boruto - it was all in his own self-interests, and for the record, Kurama helped young Naruto on several occasions because the alternative was to become the slave of someone else.
Despite my dislike for the show, they at least kept one thing that actually makes sense: Boruto being an Otsusuki. We all tend to forget that Naruto and Sasuke are both descendants from the Otsusuki clan still.
He lost everything from Deida using her senrigan to do omnipotence making Kawaki Naruto’s son and Boruto an outcast. Kawaki blamed Boruto for killing Naruto (Kawaki actually sealed him) and now the whole village is after him.
There's also the fact that Momoshiki is dead. There's nothing left of him physically to implant a Karma to. Now that Boruto is an Otsotsuki, he himself could potentially implant a karma for himself, but the only hope for Momoshiki is for Boruto to give up his body to him.

What I think is Momoshiki knows that boruto is the reincarnation of shibai and guiding him through when his future is down
People comparing this to kurama don’t see that it’s different. Kurama doesn’t like to be controlled and isn’t a weapon but is treated as one. Momoshiki is genuinely evil and the only reason he saved boruto is because momoshiki already died and his only way to be resurrected was through boruto but if boruto is dead then he dies forever. He has no choice but to revive boruto of he else he is dead forever. Momoshiki is just going to reside in boruto till he finds a plan probably, just like Sukuna.

I feel this is incorrect. Momoshiki wasn't trying to save Boruto, he was trying to save himself so he could later psychologically take over Boruto's mind and body, which he tried to do on several occasions. That was his plan at least. He certainly didn't "sacrifice" himself to save Boruto - it was all in his own self-interests, and for the record, Kurama helped young Naruto on several occasions because the alternative was to become the slave of someone else.

2 possible reason:
ONE is the medicine from Amado. this medicine suppresses the Byakugan. According to his experiment, when you suppress the byakugan the extraction "might" stop. However, Boruto gain access to byakugan in that episode. Thus, the medicine is defective. momoshiki also said it.
TWO is Boruto is already 100% Otsutsuki before that event. The extraction stopped at 82% and the remaining 18% is Boruto's (that otsutsuki genetics where the Jougan resides). We all know that an Otsutsuki can heal wounds. ---so there.
Q: Why is Momoshiki's is OKAY with giving Boruto the 18%? We all know that Otsutsuki's aims to evolve and gain more power. If the karma rewrite the 18% Boruto's --momoshiki will gain nothing but resurrection only. Thus retaining the 18% may give him access to the jougan. so he want to take control instead of resurrecting. You guys got this all wrong. Yes momoshiki used the karma to save boruto. Yes he still resides inside of him BUT considering boruto is full OT now. If he feeds Code or Kawaki to the ten tails he should be restored. Seeing as kakashi helped sasuke with his curse mark by sealing it and having it be based on his will power and chakra reserve. Safe to assume sasuke decided to get rid of momoshiki by having boruto either fight him inside his mental world ( it was stated their thought waves were merging) or by having him sealed somewhere inside of borutos subconscious while also lending boruto the benefits of his new body. Kawaki wants boruto and code dead. Pretty sure they will team up to defeat code together alongside his army destroying the lead village. Alllowing momoshiki to take over again or they fight at the leaf and teleport and fly to different dimensions. Maybe having their final fight in the dimension where Naruto & hinata are sealed. AT THE END I see naruto stopping them once again scolding them for fighting and promoting konohanamaru to 9th hokage. #LLZ
