it looks fun but for the right kinda kayaks they are expensive.

Kayaks a bit too long for waves. Couple of times went nose to the bottom.
As a beginner in the surfzone, it is good to see that you skilled surfers can be overpowered by the sea, too.
And that when it goes wrong, it does have an effect such as shown at 3:10.

Great footage but horrible music
Why are they wearing helmets.... surfers go out in stuff much worse than this? Not trying to downplay it but why helmets?
I would guess because surfers automatically falls off the board if they fall, in a kayak you are more "stuck" :D
Helmets because a swamped 17 foot sea kayak weighs hundreds of pounds and has tremendous leverage. A boat in the surf just might slam you on the bottom or smack you upside the head.
And there is the danger of being dragged upside down over the sand. This sport is much more extreme than surfboarding.

Most sea kayakers are not unmusical. This is terrible!
This is why surfers stay away from sea kayaks in the surf: NO CONTROL!
As a seakayaker this is shameful to watch. We are better than that.
They are just having fun. And there is no surfer on the scene.
You're not a sea kayaker, mate. From that comment, it's obvious. Stay in your pond, and keep reeling in fish.
Agree surfers and kayakers must keep their distance. Yet everybody may have their fun, the waves are not patented.
