- I had the opportunity to take care for this magnificent peice of instrument for while. tI has been one of biggest dreams to own one since i was a boy with toys. Now that I tested it for some time i can say that for the price, I'd rather go for the Moog One. Sure, I still want one but only, more or less, as a collectors item. But It can still perform and make sounds like no other.
14:46 - That bell sound destroys a DX7.
19:03 - Lifelike organ!
23:29 - The ace up the sleeve for strings. Being able to have a slower PWM on low notes allows big sweeping PWM without getting murky on bass.
My fascination with the Memorymoog began when I failed a comparison test on Gearspace, where five MM and five JP-8 clips were uploaded. As a JP-8 owner, I recognized one preset, but for the rest, guessed that whichever clips sounded better were JP. I was lucky to play one in person and it had a weight to the sound that crushed my JP-8 along with my OB-8 and Prophet-5. I might just have to get a Trigon-6 module one day to enjoy the power of three oscillators on a polyphonic synthesizer. No room for the behemoth Memorymoog itself.
I'm running 6 Waldorf Pulse for a polyphonic 3 osc. Though it's DCO it get "close" with some clever programming. The MemoryMoog is as you say thunderous and can be a little bit too much among others.
But by it self 🤗😍
@@No_NagI also used to have an SQ-80 for three-oscillator fun, that I stupidly sold to make room for an Emax.
@@100DollarHeadache still have one and a ESQ-1 🫡
23:29 is the legendary patch #21 that get's everyone salivating. I have a mint condition Memorymoog Plus that has been re-capped and is extremely fault tolerant. They are amazing. It doesn't appear as if the demonstrator in the video knows that you can advance thru presets with the A and B buttons instead of typing each one in. HOLD button is just worded wrong. It should be labelled CHORD. Hold a chord and press this button and you get the ol' "one finger chords" thing. Just an FYI. Cheers. Great video, thanks for posting.
cool demo, never had the chance to put my hands on a memorymoog ... thanks :-)
I hope you get the opportunity. It is an experience.
I'd take one over a Prophet 5 / 10 anytime.

I'd love to hear it through the GP-8.
It's not here anymore. So I can make that a reality. But mabe process the wavefrom the video through the GP-8 would be posssible.
@@No_Nag I'm glad the GP-8 remains.
Mäktigt. Lite av drömsynten.
Jo, fick hålla drömmen lite. Och konstatera att drömmen är bättre än verkligheten på sätt och vis. jag vill fortfarande ha en...
