  • A driver had hit a very low clearance and ripped the roof off part of the truck and was nervous driving it back so decided to store it at a storage facility untill a tow truck could pick it up and tow it a long distance down south so we set out to hook the truck using the sling but the rear bumper was much to messed up to hook from with out it getting bent up or even ripped off so we frame forked it from the frame and away we went I hope everyone can find some entertainment in this video thanks as always for watching please like share and subscribe

    Oh dude! I haven't watched past 3:30 but I can see that's a chassis extension. Yow, frame fork..

  • @jonnyonwheels
    @jonnyonwheels Před 3 lety +1

    Yeah, you picked that one up right where you should have, cuz that bumper is really just a step and those frame extensions didn’t have a lot of weld on them. And I was looking hard at that bumper whether it would clear on turns as that’s my biggest concern with my wheel lift. Cuz if I hit on a turn it takes out by dually bedside, but I’ve got controls on the inside(repo truck) so I can bump it out a bit if necessary. Stay safe! 👍🏼

      Yea unfortunately when I turned into the drop off it had a large dip in the entrance and that dam bumper tagged my truck with a small scratch

    Its not everyday that you get to tow a truck that looks like it belongs in the junk yard lol. I am guessing the driver took that truck under a bridge and the truck was too tall for it, happens all the time cause drivers today don't know the height of their vehicles. It may have been a simple hook up, but still interesting to see. Cause you hooked up from the rear, you didn't have to drop the driveshaft. We haven't seen video's from you in a long time, I am just glad that you are back, I miss your weekly uploads. Your amazing Malakai, don't forget that.

    If the engine runs fine then load from the front and leave the engine running so the transmission pump can circulate the trans fluid. You don't have to drop the driveline.

    • @McKaysWreckerservice
      @McKaysWreckerservice  Před 3 lety +2

      I always drop the drive line when towing anything from the front wether it runs or not I have herd that the pump doesn’t work fast enough at engine idle so I’m not willing to risk it lol

    You need to get yourself some fork extensions risers then you don't need to chain the axle then you will have enough height on your wheel lift

    How did you make out with drop off, you said it had to go quite a ways, just curious with those flimsy roll up doors, and the wind blowing against them, and how the huge hole in the roof played into it all. Liked

    It is nice to have a versatile truck . I think I would have gotten an other driver and drove it to its destination. Towing driving same difference. Thanks for the videos. Stay safe. How is Bird doing?

    If it’s to weak to pick up on why put safety chains on the weak point.

    • @McKaysWreckerservice
      @McKaysWreckerservice  Před 3 lety

      Well because I’m confident in my hook up that nothing is going to warrant the use of those safety chains and believe it or not I have dropped a van years ago and had the chains hooked to the sway bar link and it held strong but I wouldn’t ever lift from the sway bar link
