    The Road Captain's job is important because he responsibly moves the pack down the road from point A to point B. However, prior to the pack moving onto the highway the Road Captain should ensure that all bikes are ready to roll. This should be done by the Road Captain on an ongoing basis, not just before runs. This video will give some insights as to how to conduct your bike inspections.

    Valuable information. This should encourage members to have their bikes in good working conditions always.

    RIGHT ON! BD, a week after I bot my wideglide, I got caught in torrential rains, 4 inches in the
    street. I had half a mile to go, got home safe. Next day I do a pre-ride, the horn sounded like
    a constipated duck! ten feet away it could NOT be heard. I could imagine the danger of gettin'
    on her an out for a spin only to need a horn that was useless.I carry a tire gage in forkbag as
    well as a pkg of 1157's for running an stoplites. that way when I do a pre-ride, I don't have to
    go running out to the auto parts store. .Nothing to do w pre-rides but I keep a few 5 gal jerry
    jugs so if I want to leave right away for a ride I can top off the tank at the house.

    Beautiful bike, it's a shame the Victory brand will be no more. Though a lot of good points to remember when checking in preparation for a ride, especially for a newbie like myself. I enjoy the videos and the lessons.

    Mr. BD,
    When we check our bikes a tire pressure gage must be used while checking the center of the tires.

    Black Dragon, is it a good idea to have a road captain who is an agressive rider or is that not a good skill to have?

    • @BlackDragonNationalPresident
      @BlackDragonNationalPresident  Před 6 lety +3

      It's a good skill to have, but not while leading a pack. When leading 10 to 100 guys, EASY DOES IT is always the best way.

    I'm all about safety but you're putting a lot on one guy if you have 20 or 25 guys or however many guys in the group you're going to have your road Captain do that pre-ride inspection on all of the bikes you'd have to start a day early just to leave on time

    • @BlackDragonNationalPresident
      @BlackDragonNationalPresident  Před 6 lety +1

      The Road Captain should be doing his inspections daily on all of the bikes in the pack. He should know what condition every bike is in, such that he wouldn't have to complete it all in one morning. He would already have a running list in his mind of which bike needed what. This not be something that catches him by surprise. He could say "King did you get that water pump check out and did you buy new tires like I asked you to three weeks ago?" You see he's already on his game. When the MC gets too big for the one Road Captain, then he assigns an assistant to help him do the job. He can have as many assistant Road Captains as needed to get the job done. :-0

    So I found a Road Captain that doesn’t know all the protocols including having the highest authority while on the road; if structured properly.
    What do you call an outline of protocols/responsibilities for every position in the MC?

    • @BlackDragonNationalPresident
      @BlackDragonNationalPresident  Před rokem

      Few MCs actually have that.

    • @OGC1970
      @OGC1970 Před rokem

      @@BlackDragonNationalPresident thx. I think it’s odd not to have the basic historical MC protocols for positions not available to those that are elected,at least; though any patch holder should have no excuse but to know the “rules”.
      It’s not like its some secret internal operational thing; and it sets the protocols in stone. It eliminates learning curve/bs from those selectively giving the knowledge to the newbie position holder. I see it like some treat prospects; learning as you go, and some just being plain Aholes about it.
      It can be a voted per protocol to be set, and allows for personalization of the protocols per MC; and it’s future generations that may want or need to change?
      I think some MC’s don’t even have a clue who they’ve invited in. It’s their fault for not allowing the prospect to truly contribute and exchange while the prospect = no-nothing and stay in their f’n lane. 😈
      Been learning from you for awhile now. Truly, thank-you 😁
