    I always love the nuance of Owen always calling the I-Rex "She", whereas all the staff call her "It". He sees her as an animal and they see her as an asset. That goes on right up until he sees that she is killing for sport when she slaughters the apatosaurus herd. Then he calls her "It" because he sees that she is a monster.

    • @FEARSWTOR
      @FEARSWTOR Před 3 lety +17

      @@gamerstheater1187 She was bred that way intentionally. Like the Indoraptor, she was ultimately intended to be weaponized. However, where the indoraptor was "trained" to attack a lazed target, I-Rex was more of a "Point in the general direction of the enemy and turn loose" (Don't ask me what their plan was for getting her back under control. KO gas, maybe?). To that end, her genes were tweaked to make her hyper-aggressive towards literally everything, even her own kind. Everything Doctor Wu was "surprised" by and said was a side-effect of her DNA combination was completely by design to make her into a weapon, so it can be safe to presume that her aggression was as well.

    From the perspective of the indominus we're the bad guys and she's just taking her revenge. She was born without love, treated as a toy. Sure she ate her own sibling but it was her genes that caused her insanity she probably didn't even realize what she had done at the time. And then after that the humans isolated her from the rest of the park and never once showed a hint of care for her, so it's no surprise that her drive to escape and her hatred for the humans grew. And then when she escaped she attempted to release the others while killing as many humans as she wants, but some of the Dino's got in her way so of course her instincts led her to kill them. The only reason the humans survived is because they used other dinosaurs as weapons against her in a cruel twist of fate. I know I'm probably looking to deep into this but as Henry woo himself stated in the film "monster is a relative term. To a Canary a cat is a monster. We're just use to being the cat."

      I think one issue is that we are made to assume they installed it when she was really young but the tracker is sizeable which would have been installed once she was moved to the larger enclosure. So she could have been significantly older when it was put in her meaning memory would have been much more developed. Also also given her extra sensory abilities and control of her skin maybe she could have just felt where it was without the "shocking" nature of it.

      yeah, it could've been fine if they just made a detachable wall side for transfer of enclosure and a small gate for humans but what they did is basically a huge metal-concrete all-purpose door that takes a minute to even close. The film was great nevertheless, and without that, we couldn't see dinosaur havoc once again.

    • @ZZMonkeysUncleZZ
      @ZZMonkeysUncleZZ Před 5 lety +3

      @@aniusers Well, they could have kept the larger door, since it's far more practical than taking an entire section of the wall off. The door was clearly sturdy enough while closed, but the security guy opened it, instantly made it less stable. There should have been a smaller door next to it, and the controls on the inside should have only opened that one.

    • @OneMouseGaming
      @OneMouseGaming Před 3 lety +4

      @@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ The I-rex tricked them into opening the large paddock door. They entered on the other side through a man door. The scratches were all next to that main loading gate. The fat security guard panics and opens the entire gate. As others have said there should have been a man door there as well.
      In addition that gate should have been an airlock style system with that gate opening to a loading zone with an identical gate. They are truly giving themselves a single point of failure. Same with the pterodactyl enclosure. 8 foot tall carnivorous flying dynos, but this simpled glass shell is sufficient, no way it could ever break.

      Jia Jun Oh Well, about the feathers it's all about the design. I'm sure you could make a creepy raptor with feathers, it's just that many paleoarts are ugly. But the lack of feathers is explained in the books, so they decided to just stick to the franchise. Indominus is over the top with its power too but its design is something that would be expected from mixing all the dinosaurs together. Ultimasaurus doesn't look like something "in between" but instead "all in one", and that makes it farfetched.

    I would say that the indominus was also part lyrebird, a type of bird that is able to mimic any kind of noise including cameras, chainsaws, people, and other animals.
    So the indominus noticed that the raptors where social animals, thus it used it's intelligence to communicate with it using lyrebird DNA to mimic the raptors voice so it can turn the raptors against the humans.

    It’s clear why Masrani use the word “Monster” only in reference to the Idominus Rex, despite having other carnivores; because that’s exactly what she is: A Monster! It isn’t just because she was raised in isolation her entire life with severe undeveloped social skills,(with her only interaction with humans is when her food is given to her); that fact is she simply designed to be that way! As Claire mentioned earlier in film: “they wanted them bigger, scarier, more teeth!” Before the introduction of her successor, the Indoraptor, The Idomius was the only true hybrid created by Henry and not just a clone of a dinosaur that already existed on the fossil record! Ironically, unlike all the others dinosaurs, her modified genes enables her to adapt and understand the environment she in, conversely, as Owen bluntly told Clair: “she doesn’t even know what she is”; and her vicious unpredictable nature, combined with her predatory instincts and high cognitive abilities allows her to know her place on the food chain!

    I always felt bad for the Indominus. She was a Frankenstein's monster bred purely for violence. She was isolated, never given any kind of enrichment, and was stuck in an enclosure MUCH too small for her. It's no wonder she went on a killing spree. On top of her mash-up of genes, she never had the chance to properly develop behaviorally. A creature that smart needs things to DO. Otherwise it becomes destructive, which she did. So I don't really blame her for being so violent. She was doing what she was created to do, with the added bonus of taking out her rage and frustration on the people who had trapped her.

    I've noticed you've done videos like this one on the Indoraptor Explored as well. I REALLY REALLY would absolutely love to see you do a video on the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3!!!! I particularly love YOUR videos of things being explored or explained and, feel like I speak for many Jurassic Park fans when I say I think a video on the Spinosaurus from JP3 explored would be REALLY interesting! Not to mention that since you have made videos on the dinosaur antagonists of both Jurassic World films, maybe it's time you make a video for the antagonist of JP3! Guarantee you'd get a hell of a lot of views for that one!

    Another video I had seen pointed out that Indy was also capable of being a very compassionate creature when you consider the possibility that it killed its sibling to save it from the torture of the lab testing. To me, that adds another layer to its hatred of man.
