I've seen him live in concert (where he signed my ticket personally and took pictures with me, he's a great guy) and I've fell in love with tons of his songs. If I compare Bassnectar to seeing Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Nero, and Deadmau5 (among others) Lorin had the best sound system for quality and bass. Honestly a phenomenal performer!

Bassnectar touches up on pretty much every genre known to man and does an incredible job too. Hes also very very fanbase orientated which is why he probably has some of the most loyal fans on the planet

if you're going by who's been around the longest, then Bassnectar is one, but you can't forget Liquid Stranger. he's been producing music since he was 8, i.e back in the 80s, and picked dubstep up early 90s. As towards musical experience and background, Liquid Stranger wipes every single artist off the table :P

Exactly - the elements in the songs are the producers/DJs paying homage to the prior generational genres that have paved the way for new sounds. Grassroots origin at its best and for those that comprehend have simply not been around long enough to know that new genres of music are ALWAYS influenced by the prior..

Bassnectar is considered the god of dubstep by pretty much everyone. He's been around longer than anyone else, has a huge influence on pretty much everyone, has released a ton of music (about an album a year), and has been known to have some really good live concerts/dj sets. I recommend listening to his Divergent Spectrum album.
