A good comprehensive review of the bike!

Thank you for your review. I have this bike also. please do the follow up video on changing the controller throttle settings. I too want more torque for initial acceleration just as you described. The tires on that bike can’t be beat. The bike is smooth. I wish it had 750w motor. I have hills where I’m at. Again thanks for a thorough review.

      Your very welcome!
Unfortunately I went thru a bunch of different settings and could not find one that made any difference. So I don’t plan on doing a video on that. Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Fantastic bike. I upgraded mine to the KD718 display (video on my channel) and it is highly programmable!

Thanks for the very informative video. I am also interested in the throttle situation. Do you think you could transport it in a SUV? What is the weight? Thanks again.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Před 2 lety

It would depend on the size of the SUV. A smaller SUV like an equinox, probably not. I full size SUV, maybe.
The bike is 62lbs with battery.

@Michael Warren I went thru the display settings today. And no matter which setting I changed I didn’t feel any difference in the throttle acceleration. This bike just seems to have a slow uptake when using throttle.
      Sorry I couldn’t find a solution. 🙁

Good video but after all that great footage of your wife riding the bike you failed to mention any of her ride experience. I'm considering purchasing one of these e-bikes for my wife who appears to be the same height. I think you might have missed the demographics of who this bike is intended for.

I tend to just mix all the feedback together and present it. I think for the price it’s a fair deal.

In your assessment of the bike, did you experience the front end has a certain degree of wobble when you move the handle bar left to right ( I am just wondering if all of them do this or is it just the several of us that bought these ) ?

If you have slop in the head tube you should adjust the top bolt on the stem. To do this you loosen the two side bolts on the stem and tighten the top bolt. Do not over tighten it!
It is only meant to tension the forks thru the head tube, as soon as the slop disappears stop. Then re-tighten the side bolts.
I show the process in my stem upgrade video.

@@TinkeringTurtle Thank you for the explanation, but that was for Himiway, I was referring to the KBO Step Thru the front end has been assessed by a bike repair shop and they went thru everything and made sure it was all tight everywhere. The front of the bike if you shake it left to right while holding the handlebars while riding will feel like it is going to fall apart...the bike rides great and performs great. Just scary not sturdy if you induce that shaking back and forth. Not one review site of the KBO has ever mentioned this issue. Yet several of us that bought these all have the same issue. But we still like our bike, it is concerning. Any ideas what is causing this. And how can we fix it? Thank you

@Mark Rappa First of all I know it was for the Himiway. But the threadless stem system is the same on both bikes. The process for tightening is what I was pointing out.
If you have had a mechanic assess the issue and found nothing wrong, I am not certain what I can add. Sorry
