Would timestamps be helpful after the stream is over? If so, would you prefer games sorted by opening name or by something that happened during the game? Sacrifice, blunder, time trouble, etc.
I think if you did it the way Eric Rosen does it on his rating climb videos but in your own style, that would be cool to see
Hey. I'd say per opening name :) We can see it's probably an exciting game by the game length already. Too many timestamps would make them pretty useless I think. I like the idea, since I only watch your streams partly and am scrolling to find the next game I didn't watch yet. Great vids Nelson! You helped me get up to 1900 elo already! :)
Sorting by Opening TY :)
Both are fine
I would prefer sorting by what happened during the game
my favorite videos of yours is when u play 10-min games. it makes me sleep well.
Hi Nelson! Im the guy you played in the last game, I was lagging but ggs!
Bro you're too good there.
So what’s with the blah username.. and your YT account too! :-)
Yeah, same concerns @@timm439
around that 2:11:54 turmoil, i was shouting take Knight to G7. It would have saved both the white rook .. else equal the loss
Bro try to make some vedios.
That first game was insanely good.
You felt so energetic and happy in this wow!!!!
That made me happy and energetic too!!
man, please do more of this, for a medium chess player this is gold...the most interesting video for a medium chess player...
Real chess master energy throughout! And like how you play those crazy lines. It's entertaining to watch and like you said, more fireworks!
Just broke 1300 been playing for about a year after taking a decade long break
Well done keep it up bro
What site or app are you all playing on!?! What is nelson playing on so I can download it.
@@robertdockery1681its also an app
This a very helpful series where we hear how you think about your moves. Brilliant decision. Thank you🌞
Thank you for all your content! I’ve recently started playing and your videos and streams are helping me get going .
Love watching these videos. Makes me relax and talk to myself while I play.
Just watched the " replay " after watching live last night .Even more instructive - any timestamps poss both opening & sacrifice , blunder , brilliant move etc would be more than useful , thank you once again .
Hey thankyou for this video you really help out with not just in chess but everything in life that requires decision making super helpful.
This video is amazing! Thanks for a glimpse into your mind
Only watched first game so far. But enjoyed the thought process you used throughout and the quick game review after. Was informative as I'm starting my chess learning as an adult.
If you're just starting out go and watching rating climbs from the bottom levels. He's done two last year and just started another, it's by far the best way you'll learn fast with chess
@@alanmaclaren3378 Nice tip! I'm also just starting out and will do that. Thanks!
Hey man love what you doing I'm learning so much when you analysis the moves.
Clear, easy to follow, respectful. Keep it up.
Low key sometimes I just listen to the videos while I play
I wish i had your patience. Watching you analyze these in real time made me realize how much I'm rushing my games.
hi i just wanted to say that your channel is so great and you and your style of analysis is awesome. i actually think that you made mz chess better because i often get into that machine of playing quick moves without taking into account all my possible moves...so you made me slow down and get a grip on the position and it actually pays of. i am in high 1600 elo on lichess and i see the difference betweeen me and my opponent. they almost always play fast but incorrect and i take my time and beat htem in the long run...by just slowing down, and choose the best move i know....so thanks and i think that your havea better channel than gotham chess...he is doing it for the likes and views etc. you on the other hand have that aura of calmness and pure love for the game of chess. dont change a thing. just keep doing what you were doing.
1k like was my! :D love your videos mostly those games when you explain! learn a lot from you!!!
Nice mate
Awesome content
These videos never get old
Nice one. Thanks for sharing your thought process. That helps a lot for me as a low level player. I think opponents main mistake was not using his time advantage to think deeper when it got very dangerous. All that Army starring at my King would bring me out of Bullet mode and really start to worry about checkmate. GG
Hats off ! This'd help me a lot to reach my 1100, just 50 points away now.
you are GOoood, i watched the first game only.
Thank you for taking us through the thought process.
Do you use the arrows as well when you're playing by yourself? Does it help and should I learn/invest in this?
can't wait till you became grand master! so you can teach us super GM stuff! :D
Great games
Trusting ur instincts is hard
And if you didn’t know y
Then u prob wouldn’t have found right moves after
I’m same way
Love your channel thx for all the advice
I love your videos even though I am hilariously bad at chess
You need to learn about blunder checking, and stop leaving pieces unprotected, play solid and conservative, over protect everything. Play pawn moves conservatively because you can't take them back ever. Don't bring the queen out too far early on you are likely to get chased around the board losing tempo(a move and time). Develop every piece as quick as possible, castle early, connect the rooks up in the centre and get them on open files if possible. Don't move the same piece twice while developing if possible, it really is a race to develop every piece ( games can go awkward and a rook might never move from it starting position, but stick with the principles what I said , get pieces active. Fght for the centre, don't put knight on the side of the board it needs to cover as many squares as possible. Calculate you opponents candidate moves as much as you calculate your own, a lot of players don't do this enough, hence they miss a lot of chances to gain from a position or prevent blunders and mistakes. This is general beginner advice, better players will attack more and be more aggressive, you don't need to be if you play similar low rated players though. When you are 1000+ elo you will need to get more aggressive, because you need to make our opponent think and put them under pressure, passive (includes solid play) play becomes poor play. PS Have basic plans, beginners miss something nearly every move., don't be that beginner by doing what I said, you will get to a 1000 elo quite quickly because they miss loads of stuff. Sorry if you don't need the advice but someone reading this might,
these games make my head hurt really
This is more a showcase of your positional intuition than an insight into your thought process. Do you think you could speak more on your calculations? I guess there's only so much you can say in such a short time control.
Did you not see his calculations? He was voicing them the entire time...
But he's not a GM nor has an international FIDE title. NM is based on your national rating which is often 100-300 pts lower. So NM is below CM, which is a candidate master, aka you're not Titled-level strong yet but might get there some sunny day.
Point being, he is a strong club level player, so his thought process isn't that different.
Ok I go here here there and ehh something happens, guess I'll be fine.
Don't get me wrong, he is a great dude with good content but you're not getting some 10-move tactical shots on a regular here.
For that, you need to watch IM+. They're more meticulous and see further ahead.
Caveat being that chess players are lazy. Magnus can see an entire game ahead sometimes but also calculate like a 1800 when he can't be bothered and doesn't feel threatened.
Wow nice win streak!
The ending at about 1:09:20 was interesting to watch--you knew exactly what to do and when to ignore the opponent's threats
learning a lot from you, watch out 😅
that first game was crazy .. 79 and you still won
That game against Aron was crazy, my defense as white would have been Qxh6 and you have to retake because you can't play h3, the queen would just take it so after you take back on h6 you play h3 yourself to blockade the pawn and kick the horsey away. That still would have been a playable (or interesting) position because Nelson would have lost both rooks but the engine defense was insane.
Have you ever played Simon Williams? I'd love to see that match-up!
You know the result
"I didn't see that one" Yep, that's my thought process, too!
1st game was sick
I do have to admit Nelson at least you play guys as good as you are.
Nelson with time is a dangerous combo against other 2200s 😜
I am stuck at 400 elo for a month since i started playing, what should i do other than practising puzzles and tactics ?
23:40 - Nxe6, if Pxe6, B-g6 mate, if Bxg5, Nxg7ch, king moves, Q-f2 threatening mate again, black replies, then N-h5, and white traded the dark square bishop for two pawns, and the queen shuts down the knight fork. Did I miss something?
In these rapids games sometimes you just gotta go with your instinct
I have figured out how Hikaru is thinking. He just says "I guess I'll go... here?" and that's a good move
Can you analyze what you consider your best game is ever thus far!
Most of us know how to think but we cannot put it into action like a master.
For example: there will be a bishop threatening to take our queen on the next move but we will not see it on the board.
Good 👍😊
Man that first game was amazing
I thought so too. He could have lost it on time with one average move.
4:44 after Black's queen to e4, can someone explain why white doesn't threaten mate with bishop to a6? I'm a beginner and don't see the problem with the attack
Time stamps are always helpful.
What a last game
Get that shirt made! It's either a great move or its a blunder
I'm confused as to why his opponent resigned in the first game, can someone clarify? his position didnt seem bad enough for a resigination considering the remaining time.
Needs time stamps of what level players he played
1:03:25 Nelson laughing at the pawn move after losing the game because he himself didn't play it :)
1:16:10 Mad that opponent didn't see that. He was looking for ages
You got so lucky in the game where the guy disconnected, he threw that away, he could have won that if he just pushed his pawn and got another queen.
Ramon chickened out 😆
14:20 - what a move!!!!
2:21:30 Black Knight is trapped on h2 after Rook f1-f2. How you'd escape?
46:17 missed a fork for bishop and knight
first game; he could sac the queen by taking g8 rook..
Hey!! Nelly boii!!
In 23:43, how about knight take the pawn, then to go g7?
How do you think wins Nelson or Levy Rozman from Gotham chess??
Levy
Levy because he is objectively better and is an IM.
Faustino 🎉❤ Kid in a few years crushes two gms simultouneiously
Should of just taken the knight at 13:15. It was a blunder. 45:46 Knight to D7 would threaten the rook the same way while bishop protects it.
At 14:32, QxRg8 and hope to win on time?
Harry the H pawn. I think rover been watching ginger gm
Bruh I saw that knight f6 move in and I’m a 700😭 I was wondering why he didn’t play it
d7 from black at some point would prevent the draw and connect the rooks, just sayin:)
50:32
23:03 I considered rook taking on f7
29:20 that would have been a really
Bad fork for you !
Why not showing the eval bar ?
Come on, I meant during the reviews. @@blue_red_screen
At about 1:17. Why would you take the qeen sac??? Is queen B7 not mate? Ahh he explained.... Missed that one
4:40 would Na5 not work here to put pressure on the queen?
I was looking at that too. But if the opponent moves queen to a4 then the knight is in trouble and you have to move it back or move a pawn to defend.
How abt R*f2 in the second game @38:17
Pretty cool to watch and relax while chess IM plays and talks about his ideas.
Amirani86 should have walked her pawn down to get a queen forcing you to trade and then being up queen rather than f'ing around trying to checkmate you - imo
Chess is not hard, but it is hard. 😁👍
10:45. I like Ne5 instead of Rd5.
You're way better than I'll ever be. I think you give up pawns too easily in critical positions though. Use them to your advantage instead of letting them be taken for nothing.
idk how you are a master, honestly
I was so happy when I reached 1.000, now I’m upset because I’m stuck at 1.350 and I don’t know how to get higher. Looks like just watching Nelson doesn’t boost my elo 😂
31:01 Knxe6?
How come he only plays 10 minute games? 15/10 would allow for more calculating of these crazy lines
Hey not sure if you’ve done it before but you should definitely try to collaborate or play against Gotham chess! Would be very excited to see how those games would play out especially with Gotham and his karokhan defense
Gotham is very strong he would probably outplay Nelson but yeah their collaboration would be fun
Gotham chess... Please no, overrated dude 🤮 Would stop watching immediately
Levy can be entertaining but it’s more about the show than the game. If you want to learn, Nelson or igor Smirnov are your guys.
How to think:
me ;what i don't have a brain 😢
You most likely would have lost against admirani, but if you had more time there might have been a draw, but not likely. He was winning.
I never understand why people play rapid like bullet - unless it's their prep but here the moves weren't even the best ones.
That 2nd surely you purposely didn’t play Knight to e6 for content reasons. Was so obvious imo
13:05 why u don't take the knight ?
because queen takes rook
skibidi ohio rizzler oooo goo goo gaa gaa
wait, how to think?, today's school is what to think right?....LOL
You look like Richard midhurst. You are like his twin. Are you adopted?😂
Don't worry irun out of ideas ooften in chess.
Shouldn't the video title read "ThinkS"?
He just gonna take it!!!!
