@@battleaxe. That is the point. Record label bosses aren’t known for being fair. The contracts usually suck-initially. Same exact thing occurs in all genres of music. These young rappers signed on the dotted line without lawyers because they were so desperate to make it, and they believed in promises. You are particularly peeved at Puff because he’s a black executive who did this to other blacks. But white executives do this all the time and have done so from the get go, but it is expected. One other factor that you need to consider in Puff’s defense, is that blacks tend to be desirous and envious of other successful blacks. If Puffy’s artists were making 1 million and Puffy making 20 million, those black artists would have wanted to make 20 million too and own their own record label as well, without appreciating what Puffy underwent to get to that point. All they see is a black man more successful than there are, and they want that same level of success for themselves, believing that they too are entitled to it. But they don’t factor that they may not possess the business acumen or experience of Puffy. Then instead of focusing on their craft as artists, they start to sulk and get angry, believing that they are being robbed because Puffy showed up in a Bentley and they are “only” driving a Mercedes. They then get distracted and fail to stay the course and make poor decisions and end up broke, then they start to blame Puffy for their misfortune. For some reason blacks seem to be ok working for whites and don’t complain, but when it comes to working for a black person, suddenly they start to complain and make all sorts of unfounded accusations. The tenth commandment is “Thou Shall Not Covet.” I’ve found that covetousness is what has led to the downfall of many in our community.

I find Gene's interviews entertaining, none of us knew what was going on with Diddy and Bad Boy records back in the day. After saying that, I say Diddy is NEVER going to acknowledge any of the things that Gene is saying about him, he doesn't have to. Puffy is a millionaire many times over. He is well insulated and can't be touched. I believe everything Gene is saying, but there will NEVER be a "Surving P. Diddy" because his money protects him. There would never had been a "Surving R.
