Ok so Part 1 saw both the leadup and aftermath of Diana's death. Even with the time jump that still hangs heavily over part 2 with William struggling to deal with the grief of losing his mother. Several people write letters and though his family try to comfort him it's clear that there's no real way for him to easily get over it. Everyone asks him how he's feeling but it's clear that he's isolated and alone. The only person who understands him is of course Harry and we know how that would turn out due to recent events.

I wouldn't call it acceptant as much as the bitch is getting her way and there is nothing they could do about it. I was very glad to see Charles and Camilla being embarrassed and put in their place during the blessing even it if didn't really happen.
Margaret's demise was a gut punch and beautifully acted!
It was beautifully done, I cried so much..
It was over the top - most people outside of the UK didn’t know who she was!
I wasn’t prepared for that to be my favorite episode.
Lesley Manville was the stand out by far. 'Ritz' was one of my favourite episodes of the whole six seasons.
It was popular and great acting but hard to watch
@@CJ-ft9yoI cried so hard I had to stop, then go back! It was heartbreaking to see the Queen going thru this alone.
The last set of episodes were a love letter to Queen Elizabeth. Princess Margaret episode was a masterpiece.
Indeed! 💯💯💯
The writers did a wonderful job of bidding farewell to Princess Margaret. Lesley Manville’s performance was spot on.
D:Ream “Things can only get better “ was the song that Tony Blair used for his campaign song
Wonder what Carole Middleton thinks of her portrayal? They made her out to be obsessed with Prince William’s every move.
I read somewhere a while ago that that’s actually how she was. Idk just how accurate, but it’s accurate.
Eh, there were rumors about it already. Media even labeled Kate as *Waity Katy* back then.
@@annie-sc The aristos gave the Middleton sisters the nickname "The Wisteria Sisters" because of their open ambitions of social climbing.
Wow! Yeah, I was shocked at how they portrayed Kate’s mom! I had never heard that she was so pushy with Kate and William 😮🤷♀️
Ya apparently Carole Middleton made decisions for Kate so she would end up at St. Andrew’s. Apparently she was a social climber extraordinaire!
I don’t watch the show but saw the queen walking with her past self that scene was chef kiss
I agree! 💯💯💯
The cat that portrayed Charles so damn good. Dude stole every scene he was in
He portrayed someone but that definitely wasn't Prince Charles.
Kate once said in an interview that she never had pictures of William on her walls. She said she had the levis guy :)
This was such a great show. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did.
Princess Margaret death
Just....damn!😢
That episode was pure brilliance ❤
Episode 8 and 10.. my god, I've been crying for hours
Thanks for your breakdown. I loved this show so much.
Lots to admire about this series but as a UK citizen, the way they handled Harry compared to Charles and William was a disgrace. They aged up Harry and made it out like he was unaffected by his mother's death when in fact public sympathy here was greater for him because he looked so young and vulnerable. He also had a rakish charm which was spun into something sinister by the angular-faced actor they cast and the weird evil faces they had him pull. Not to mention that unflattering haircut that he never wore in real life.
A lot of the introspection and softness they granted to Charles and William in the series was actually what Harry displayed more often. He has Diana's warmth and affability, which came across time and time again in interviews, and it was completely erased. It's actually chilling how effectively they were able to rewrite history. Harry is at odds with his family and seemingly the show is now monarchist propaganda. I don't expect flawless depictions of that family but what made it compelling television was its even-handed approach in previous seasons. I even think the Diana storyline was moderately well handled and balanced.
However, with the miscasting of charismatic Dominic West as Prince Charles, the complete erasure of Prince Andrew's sinister story and how they handled Harry, the creators definitely turned this into a PR vehicle for the monarchy. Charles and Camilla are NOT loved here. Everyone knows William has been stepping out on Kate with her friends since their "relationship" began, and since his coronation Charles has earned the nickname "King Charles the Cruel" in the UK. Nothing like how they were depicted in the show. I was very disappointed. It was a very good time for the show to end. I hope it's resurrected by less biased creators to bring it back down to earth in future.
I agree. I felt like the portrayal of Harry and William was very biased to make one look good and one look bad.
The DReam song was used because in real life this was the song adopted theme New Labour used during their campaigns.
Yes he missed that
Doleres umbridge as queen wow
OMG😂 Yes!!!! I really do hate children 🙏 Thanks
ThanksMuch for posting !
I enjoyed S6 more than I expected from word of mouth reviews, but it was somber and I enjoyed it less than early seasons. I think the period details/costuming fr further back in time add to enjoyment. Also, I'm in my 50s. I know about most of what was covered in the last seasons pretty well. I felt like I learned stuff in earlier seasons, especially from looking up what was fact v fiction. Leslie Manville was fantastic in S6. Margaret's ending is the thing that haunts most fr it. I enjoyed having the 3 Elizabeths together, liked the changing casts throughout the series. Overall, a good series.
Least favorite by far and I remember all the real events. Too much attention given too the Queen’s spare!
I love your analysis
“And it will Mr. Blair….quite suddenly and without warning…”
Yes indeed. I still think the feature film "The Queen" will stand as the definitive drama of that period of time (the period of Diana's death).
Personally I really enjoyed this final season. There were a good amount of creative liberties that were taken that I wasn’t crazy about but overall it had a very intense and meaningful ending. I’m an American so I can’t really talk like I know anything about them, but I find the Royal Family to be something worth enduring as it gives a sense of meaning, culture, and community which is something that the modern day individual in todays society lacks. I really hope to see a prequel. Who knows how far back they’d go but I’d love to see anything from the American Revolution era, to the wars of the 1800s, and to WW1. It’d be fascinating though I’m sure they’d take a whole lot more creative liberties for dramas sake.
Thanks Paul.
I loved The Ritz episode
I CAN NOT believe you referenced Scabies book! Ooof
I hoped for more research on real life comparisson. You just retold what wev'e seen, with 2-3 date corrections.
Glad this complete revision of history is over. Willy blaming his father while he was always present to his mother’s shags (& wearing their gifts) was hilarious. Did he blame Carling’s wife for being at fault too? Diana began cheating soon after Willy was born. Hating that his father reunited with his first live due to his mother’s abuse is why both sons are touched in the head today.
Spot on. Revisionism written by someone who wasn't there, applied his own interpretation to things and definitely had an agenda.
The comparison with Omid Scobie's rubbish is obvious.
BUT, for an overwhelming number of people, this will be taken as the gospel version of history. Their education will never cover History, a subject that relies on those inconvenient concepts called 'truth' and 'evidence'.
technically isn't explaining the crown just giving a history lesson?
There's nothing to explain... U American?
No most of it is made up.
Me, an American. I loved the series. and I even cared for what happened to The Royal Family. Besides the "we left you guys to start our own country "thing.
Harry will have a spin off as The Joker. He was played as a super villain in the making
I hit the thumbs up button! But only in hopes that you would bring Definition back!
I miss that intro. I remember where I was when I heard him say Paul for the first time and was so confused
I feel bad for him especially around the holidays. I wish those two would bury the hatchet. @@ericawillis.
Paul.. are you doing a kung fu panda 4 trailer breakdown?
And the toady award goes to.... PETER MORGAN!!! The man who once said King Charles's toe jam taste divine on toast.
The Crown ended where it should. NO ONE wants to see Camilla become queen.
Actually she has turned out to be a lovely Queen. Before making judgements just look at what she is doing and read a few books about her. She is actually a brave , loyal, sensible, funny woman, much written about her in the media and in social media is just cruel and wrong. There were four people having affairs yet she is definitely the scapegoat.
@@kimarmstrong1814 you don’t live a Buckingham Palace so presumably you base your opinion on what you see in the media. The positive press you see that fed you that opinion was bartered for by pushing bad press on other members of the royal family, including her step children. That lady is gross.
@@shanekajohnson1320 No as I said I have read a number of books by people that know her. I have also spoken to people that have met her and said she was lovely with a good sense of humour. There is absolutely no evidence of her doing anything nasty to her stepsons, in fact most report that she has been good to them. Certainly her own family and friends adore her as does Charles. We see her as a hard worker, loyal to the monarchy with a very good sense of humour. Her popularity has soared in the UK as we got to know her.
Unlike Meghan who started with a high popularity rate but the more we got to know her and the lies she told the more unpopular she has become .
Many people don’t like Camilla because of the past yet they like Meghan and Diana who both have had multiple partners so hypocritical.
@@kimarmstrong1814 people said the same thing about Ted Bundy.
@@shanekajohnson1320 So we tar everyone with the same brush!!!! Don’t be so ridiculous, there is clear evidence that her popularity is growing and that she is a lovely person .
Part 1 was compelling. 2nd not so much
The Crown spinoff were the Queen comes back as a cyborg
The season was mixed. Not constantly good but it certainly had great moments. They finished the series well. The wedding perhaps a parrelel to Charles becoming King and the funeral plans which parreleled with the Queens death.
If anyone wanted a season 7 or beond, the episode captured what would have been most important in those seasons.
No chance Catherine and that other chick were acting like that to William 🤣
Lola is not a real person. She is based on William's exes Carley and Olivia
I loved the Princess Margaret episode. Was so happy that was properly concluded, especially with the Ritz moment featured. While I always feel the need for more, I’m happy with the final season overall. Even with, at times, it feeling a bit like a campaign for certain members of the royal family. Additionally, this might be a hot take but I thought there were far too many William-centered episodes. 🙄 And I was a William stan back in the day. I understand the vision but overall that such left me a little underwhelmed.
Have stayed at the Aries a handful of times I felt as if I was back there watching the scenes. Don’t know if he still does as king but as a Prince Charles used to have a suite there! So I was not surprised to hear of the event with the
Two princesses- for one it’s lat their backyard and according to those who have been to both the hotel is a lot nicer!!!
💯💯💯
felt like a bad season to me, skipping fiana's funeral and crash. also we all know why prince andrew has been left out of this tv show lmao
Didn't even know that show was on... Feels like it finished years ago. I've heard good things but I've never even seen a single episode
Seasons 1-4 were great, 5 was ok, 6 is terrible beyond belief. If I knew that this is where it would go, I would’ve skipped season 6 altogether.
And if anyone isn't sure how to contribute with a comment you can try something like, "Plants are so much fun. Great content as always. Baba Booey!" or "I like seaweed. Can you do a video on underwater plants? Baba Baba Booey Booey!" or "Who's watching this in 2025? Baba Baba Booey!" Baba Booey!
Scrapping the barrel for content bro
I will stay subscribed though
Firstly, I loved all six seasons of ‘The Crown.’ The only disappointment I had with season 6 is the episode where Harry wore a Nazi uniform to a fancy-dress party. I thought certainly they would have shown the infamous footage taken in 1933 of the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret giving a Nazi salute at the urging of their despicable uncle Edward, then Prince of Wales. If anyone should have understood youthful indiscretion it should have been QEII.
The big difference is that Elizabeth and Margaret were much younger and they knew nothing of the atrocities to come, it looks like they were also making fun of it. We know the Queen Mother hated Hitler and the Nazi movement. Harry, with the history behind him and just before holocaust week was thoughtless and stupid in the extreme.
The Queen did eventually get I with Camilla and they became friends.
Spoiler Alert Diana died.
So Kate's mother basically stalked William and changed Kate's life plans around to put her around the prince? IF that is true it is much less of a love story and William marrying a scheming social climbing stalker. I certainly hope it is not true. She did admit to having a poster of him on her wall when she was younger but that was it. I think anyway.
I think Carol just wanted the best for her daughter. What mother wouldn't? Catherine already had a crush on William (she confessed that she had posters of him and stuff) so i dont think her mom was forcing her to woo William or anything. She might have encouraged it but, I think it was coz she believed Catherine was destined for something greater. Besides many girls had their eyes on William then. Kate wasn't the only one who was "scheming" to get his attention. Somehow William chose her and they're happy now! And it is most definitely a love story. Not the hollywood kind but the real kind. Do you think a regular common girl who had no idea who William was, blindly falls in love, gets thrown into a life of royalty/scrutinity would do well? In Hollywood and fairytales yes but not in real life. Like cough cough look at Meghan and Harry. Catherine is doing a wonderful job as Princess. She embraced royalty all the difficulties that came with it. Did she vent to Ophra about the paps hounding her or anything? No. She's going to make a wonderful Queen one day. So Carol was right. Catherine was special.
In the crown...Eh they dramatize everything. That's just what it is. Drama and fiction.
I will never understand how people can get this obsessed with people they don't know, and imagine what they are really like behind closed doors. The Crown is a made up dramatisation, because no one knows other than those people involved.
