Many thanks, JH.
Cheers for the dedication James! đ All joking aside, as I said in my message, I'm sincerely sorry that my video was so close to yours - I can honestly say it wasn't intentional but in retrospect, it seems probable that I've seen yours at some point in the last few years and subconsciously absorbed it so when it came to quickly putting that video together on the day it went live, I covered some of the same ground! I'm of course more than happy to remove my video if you wish! đ I've been on the receiving end of _inspired_ videos and recordings and certainly wouldn't want to step on any toes!
All the best,
Chris
No worries Chris - leave it up mate.
Alls well now that we've talked.
Keep playing that guitar.
JH
Cue Noel insulting both of you in 3, 2, 1... Well it would be awesome :)
I was thinking it could be some kind of âbitâ where you were Standing On The Shoulder of giants, or being âinspiredâ like Noel. Weve Had literally thousands of people commenting on Noel playing the cigarettes & alcohol riff last week saying âTRex rip offâ - as if they are the first person to comment and realise this, in 2023.đ
As I'm sure you both know, it was TPS that finally slotted the last jigsaw piece into place during last week's in-depth Noel gear video :) Kudos to all of you though for keeping toys in prams đ
More importantly though, in the name of resurrecting Rock ânâ Roll, what do you think of Naughty Juice?
Fade in Out live is outstanding.
Gmex 97 was the best Iâd seen., definitely one of my fave oasis live songs.
Isn't that Johnny Depp?
@@glennaldosf it was indeed
Definitely the most underrated oasis song
Johnny is definitely playing a lot on fading out. âïž
"I Hope, I Think, I Know" is so underrated. The other month I heard it in a Five Guys here in the US, which was really weird.
It was a single in the US wasnât it?
@@connor9568 Apparently it was, though only as a promotional single and not for actual sale. Had no idea.
Five guys always has pretty amazing music.
That makes me want to get "Five Guys" right now
I heard Lyla in a Chickies N Peteâs once which was kinda unexpected. They have a great radio
glad to see magic pie getting some recognition..one of my favourite solos/bits of music ever
Magic Pie is undoubtedly one of the best songs he did. The ending section is a delectable medley of musical splendour.
Whole new appreciation for Magic Pie! Noelâs style of solos and fills always added an entire dimension to their tracks which has dried up since BHN. He underrates his guitar playing.đą
The Johnny Depp solo in Fade In Out is so underrated, I have to say thats my favorite solo in the album, you described it best with magic pie, just psychedelic madness.
Be here now was an outstanding album.. not a weak song ⊠love your content James
James, James, James....a video on solos of Noel Gallagher and the thumbnail is a FENDER headstock?!?!?đ
Oh, and Chris Buck is a PHENOMENAL guitarist, by far the best young guitarist coming out of the UK today. When the likes of Slash are raving about you, you know you're on the right track.
Gotta love the work you do for us Oasis fans mate! â€
Thanks for the hard work! Brilliant!!
Be Here Now is my first Oasis album, so it has a special place in my heart. Magic Pie is my favorite song off the album, it just sounds so epic.
Itâs gettin better (man)!! - love this track so much!
I love the way you continually give it to Be Here Now. I think it is a great album. The album that followed Morning Glory was always going to be a step down. But that doesnât mean that it is a bad album
Donât go away is a classic also. Especially now we now about the Real People background. Great work boys. âïžđâïž
It's random that I only got to Chris Buck this week after seeing him play the Purple Rain solo live, but on happening on his 'secret' chord video, I thought: hang on a minute?
I think this would be a great series on the channel. Always love to see guitar content. I'm assuming you've watched Noels interview on That Pedal Show. Its an amazing watch.
The way you incorporate the tabs over the videos is great. More please!
Itâs getting better man is a quality track. âïž
I would love to know what are Chris Buck's favourite solos on this album đ
The itâs getting better (man!!) solo is one of my favourites to play
James, Your videos NEVER disappoint. Thank you! Your fan from Boston, USA - New England!
PS: Got tix for Noel in Boston 15 July. Saw Liam at Greek Theatre in 2018, where Noel just played, my West Coast holiday wrapped around Liam's show--cuz he wasn't coming East.
Having been 14 when Be Here Now came out and my first real exposure to Oasis (and rock music in general) it will always hold a special place for me. I also love SotSoG as I waited what felt like 10 years for it after becoming obsessed with them post the Be Here Now hype. Turns out it was less than a three year gap lol.
Great vid James! It would be awesome to see a breakdown of John Squireâs Champagne solos for Knebworth 96 & 22! They are both impressive yet very unique from each other!
Lovely crisp guitar work, great vid.
Thanks đđ
Great stuff James! †And i Love magic pie
Great Album In my opinion and really was a great album to finish the 90s!
Ha! Nicely done, James. That video came up on my feed the other week and I just thought to myself "I'm sure James Hargreaves did an in depth video on this ages ago..."
Just as Noel is the magpie of indie rock music, Chris Buck becomes the magpie of indie rock youtube videosâŠa poetic continuation - Noel would be proud. James understands how The Real People felt. If this goes to court, Chris uses Ed Shearanâs âchord sequence defenceâ that thereâs only so many musical analysis video combinations, so theyâre bound to duplicate!
Great work!!!
Been wathing all ur stuff this last year-brilliant mate-were all still mad for it-keep it up mate-ur a brilliant guitarist-never noticed u were left handed till i watched this video!!!-from the north of scotland thanks
Cheers!
Not actually left handed, just trying Iâm out the camera âmirroredâ
Probably should have done that on a non guitar video lol
My favourite album
Wow, nice work. You did a great job with those drums too!
This is the best CZcams channel in the history of mankind
I hope i think i know is so underrated its unreal, an absolutely amazing song.
Can't agree more! And magic pie's solo is my favourite too!
GUITAR SOLO TABS:
5.- My Big Mouth 3:49
4.- I Hope, I Think, I Know 4:53
3.- D'You Know What I Mean? 6:00
2.- It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) 7:14
1.- Magic Pie 9:20
Enjoy guys. â€
Love Chris Buck
magic pie live solo is great too..Great video as usual..thanx
Love these kinds of videos James. Thank you for posting. Any chance you would take a stab at transcribing some of his solos from specific live performances? The extended ending to Champagne Supernova comes to mind from any of his gigs as well as the Fade/In Out performance from the GMEX gig. Thanks again....cheers!
Fantastic Economy of Movement !!! Great Analysis...Cheers AAA
Stand by me , although a simple and pretty short solo is still a great solo and adds so much to the song!
Great video as usual! Wondering if you could do a video on the Lock All The Doors 1992 demo working out the lead guitar since there are no tabs online đž
Love Magic Pie , takes me back to 97 more than any other of the album
When I saw his video, I was like... this *was* solved, by Mr. Hargreaves. It's just further confirmed with Noel's gear video. Good job James.
Fade in out opening from GMEX â97
Magic Pie solo on the album was drowned out by the backing vocals and therefore very unimpressive but live versions were totally erm magical so I can agree on that one with you
In my opinion Noel has a great sense for melodies and chords. However, I always think he just experimented with cords without knowing what he was doing and just judging by the sound. Which, I think, is a completely appropriate way to do it. As for his soloing it is very much the same. He is definitely not the best guitar player but one of the best song writers. You have loads of really technical guitarists around these days, but not a lot that can write good songs any more. Just my opinion.
I really love this channel! I love Oasis music. đ
Cheers James. Did you see Noel play the secret chord on That Pedal Show interview recently... their eyes lit up when he played that chord!
I always thought the live outro when they did all around the world was amazing!!
Nothing to say about the video that was released last week by That Pedal Show with Noel on it? All the Oasis fans were talking about it within 24 hours.
That's where Chris Buck verified the chord and gave That Pedal Show credit for it. I'm surprised that James didn't mention it. Yes, it was a great show. I don't play guitar and was still fascinated by it.
Magic pie is obviusly one of the greatest song of Oasis, I agree !!
Great video. I wish I could read guitar tabs for solo's. After 20 plus years, i still can't really play a solo by looking at the tab only. All those numbers hurt my brain. It's a shame they never played I Hope I Think I Know live, it's such a good song. Maybe Liam will play it live someday. I love Magic Pie, the live version is really good.
good good job!
Georgiarose16 showed us true Oasis fans the DLBIA chord many many years ago before any of the discussion about what it is ever came around
I've used his videos to learn several Oasis songs.
I always stick this album in n in the dressing room before a gig⊠proper belting
Be Here Now is without question my favourite oasis album - for me it was such an amazing time - cheers James! đđđđđ¶đ¶
That's surprising.
@@keithws2779 a lot of oasis fans over the years Iâve seen think itâs their best album - Noel hates it I know - for me itâs a complete absolute masterpiece đđđ¶đ¶
my personal fave is the outro solo Noel plays on It's gettin better man live at air studios london
I don't care what anybody says, Magic Pie is brilliant and the live version at the Hammerstein Ballroom is massive. Someone else mentioned already but Fade In-Out live is also pretty unique because Noel never played anything quite like that intro solo ever again.
I love Be Here Now, and Magic Pie is a great song
Magic Pie Fantastic track. It was when they met Ian Brown at the studio of an evening đ„Žđš
I hope I think I know....what a tune, also it's getting better now!! 100% bangers!
Love magic pie. So underrated
Shame Noel doesnât write or perform solos these days. He even said in recent interviews that he âoutsourcesâ the solos. I know he pretty much stays in the pentatonic scale, but Iâve always liked his solos. Enjoyed this vid
THE MAGIC PIE SOLO IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT! I'm glad that i'm not the only one thinking that.
To me that song it's the best part of Be Here Now!
Yeah the lyrics are pretty dumb, but it's a great song in general , with an epic sound and tone.
I couldn't agree more about My magic pie... What the heck Noel stopped performing it live? đą The few over youtube are just đ. I don't know how to explain myself, would say that the whole thing it's more than a song.. Anyway thanks for another video gem James!
PD: They could stop Liar and Noel Gallagher talking overthere and reedit this massive album propper recorded. Even they hasn't to see each other to make us happy đ€đ
Unbelievable how simialar noels solos are-bonus for the tab
Awesome video with your outstanding talent as a guitarist. As much as Be Here Now is a loud album in itself, I think there were some of the last great moments when Noel was actually doing lead in the most effective and rhythmic ways when the band were progressing. Btw, is it me or the video looks reversed from your room to your guitar playing shots? Nevertheless it's brilliant to see another great guitar video on your channel.
I hope I think I know is my favorite Oasis song ever, along with Slide Away đ€đđ
Yeah we all spotted that âsolvedâ video James - what a great idea.
There's an error on I Hope I Think, I Know, James. The second "page" of the tabs should be written as the D string, not the G (or, at least, you're playing the D string). the "17-17-17 16-16-16 14-14-14 12-12-12" are on the D, if anyone is confused a bit.
Thanks for posting these solos, regardless, mate (everyone makes mistakes).
đ€
Ahhhhhh I always mess up one line!!!
Well spotted. Should be on the D.
Whoops
It's Gettin Better Man
I always loved magic pie
Great vid, James. I think u def chose the best 5 guitar solos - and yes MP is an awesome song. If u read this, may I just ask your opinion on the song ' Be Here Now'? I personally would love to have seen it released as a single, I think it is one of the more 'radio friendly' songs off that album. Actually, I wish he had done a reworked version like he did for the song DYKWIM.
Hi James, seeing as though you're a Stone Roses and John Squire fan, is there any chance you could create a tab for I Wanna Be Adored? I can't find a single tutorial on CZcams where the guitar is correctly transcribed. Your Slide Away video was perfect, so I'd love to see a similar video for this Stone Roses song.
James regarding your Council Skies video have you considered that this record may have parallels to Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan? I've noticed it starts kind of the same way, the opening songs are similar in structure and Blood on the Tracks is more or less a seperation album so that might be another parallel
James you're right about the Zeppelin influence on My Big Mouth. Sort of like The song remains the same phrases.
I love 'Magic Pie' too. I can't understand why it attracts so much hate. It is a psychedelic masterpiece. Maybe it will get its due eventually. Cheers.
â€â€â€
Oh come on. He literally played it on That Pedal Show. I thought of you when he did it lol
For me, solo on DYWIM finally sounds like should be in live performance of Finsbury Park. That's the sound.
Be interested to see your take on the new version of Live Forever solo played by Gem on the current Flying Birds tour.
Donât Go Away !!!
Oh God, I've hated Magic Pie since the first time I heard it!
Had no idea there was dueling guitar solos in it. Might have to go back and give it a listen.
Even some comments on his vid were saying ' James Hargreaves already did this years ago '
James can you do the tab, john squire solo over "Champagne Supernova" Knebworth 1996. That speed part is really confusing.
Did you see Noel fail the solo for DLBINA in america. He said he would butcher it in the pedal show interview too. I'm wondering if Gem will start playing it after that gig
czcams.com/video/tnyRGcd3G8c/video.html
No - but I just did after your message and tweeted it!
Laughed my arse off!
Thanks for that hahaha
Can you play the solos from Go Let It Out? Specially that ones that Gem plays in live performances like in Wembley 2000
In my official song book from the 90s - Don't look back in anger 'secret' chord is an A flat dim chord
"He's also a cheeky bastard"
Man I died đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Magic Pie is brilliant. The only Oasis songs that I really think are bad are "Little James" and the studio version of "Fade-In-Out." I even love "(Probably) All In The Mind," which a lot of people seem to think is Liam's worst ever vocal (I love the harmonies with Noel on it, and the "Rain" bassline).
Interesting video, where did you hear about the led zeppelin influence? I think it sounds a bit like oasis being influenced by The Stone Rosesâ Second Coming
Every solo sounds exactly the same and I love Oasis.
Not true. Don't look back in anger is nothing like DYKWIM. Live forever is nothing like MBM. Gas panic is nothing like TIOBI. If by similar you mean they mostly use the pentatonic then obviously that's pretty inarguable.
Great video James and you do these solos great justice! Im ambivalent to Magic Pie.... its nowhere near as good as acquiesce, live forever, some.might say etc but nowhere near as bad as songs like I can see a liar, the nature of reality and little james.
Magic Pie is a fantastic song.
Magic Pie is an amazing song
Please do blur next thank you
My take on magic pie: the verse is astonishingly good. The acoustic version on a french radio Noel did showed this, the intrigue it creates is sick, but the chorus feels like a huge let down, doesnât carry the huge lift created by the verse. As a result: decent enough song, one of mixed results by my ear. Just my opinion tho
1) Your playing is great. 2) Your recordings are great. 3) What a shame BHN wasnât produced with the clarity of WTSMG because both the songs and Noelâs guitar work would get the chance to shiiiiiiine as they should.
Morning Glory not really an example for a clear sounding album tho
An Oasis album recorded like Nirvana's Nevermind would have been mega.
Does he not use a capo on do you know want I mean?
