    I've got the same project; let's hope mine cranks over and runs, too!

    Sweet, had the lay down 125 and 110 many years ago, only three wheeler I have atm is my yamaha yt175 with bassani chamber, super rare protec rear suspension kit, with blaster rear axel wich Is about 6in wider than factory to accommodate the extended wheel base from rear swingarm kit,had cylinder ported for mid to top-end and 30mm carb, runs like a raped ape absolutely screams up top, will give the 250r hell in the woods and tighter tracks, being such light weight and a little smaller stature.

      Awesome mate! I’d love a 2stroke one to be honest. Hopefully I eventually find a 250R in decent condition and not too expensive! Not a hell of a lot of them here in Aus anyway, and probably just as many Yamaha’s.

    For now there will be fewer mosquitoes in the area. It's worthy of a rebuild when you can get around to it they're great machines.

      Haha yes, it’s still very smokey, it actually only stopped running the other day and doesn’t want to start now, I think it’s time! Thanks for watching 👍🏻

      @@RustedIronRanch that thing will probably actually run quite a bit longer if you want it to but that smoke is your oil from bottom end getting past your rings and being burnt as I'm sure you know so just top off the oil before rides and check it a few times on longer rides and you might be surprised how long it will roll for maybe not ideally but it will run!!

    • @RustedIronRanch
      @RustedIronRanch  Před 3 lety

      I was thinking the same thing, I’ve topped up the oil, ridden a bit more, and it’s still pretty smokey! I’m still going to pull down and double check the valve stem seals while I’m at it but I think I will replace the rings at least. 👍🏻

      @@RustedIronRanch definitely do that also if you can do it or can spare like 50$ a bore hone wouldnt be a bad idea either also if you want something to mellow the smoke down some until then slap some of the Lucas oil additive forget what it's called but says it's for worn engines etc my friend had a 350 Yamaha warrior that smoked about that bad and he added Lucas to it and it still smoke but I'd say only about half as bad

      I actually looked for the Lucas stuff today! The top end rebuild will sort it 👍🏻

    I just bought the exact 110, it sat for 5 years, the carb was so gummy, the pet cock was gummed shut. Air box full of mouse nest, cleaned it up. Runs like a champ!!!:-)

      @@RustedIronRanch You just can't kill the Honda ATC, they were called bullet proof hondas for a reason, Awesome 110 man I'm sure you're going to have a a lot of fun on it. I have a 86 250r sitting in the garage

      Haha the compression has been low ever since I owned it, I’m sure that ATF help with lubricating them, and it definitely bumped up the compression! As of a month ago it now won’t start as the compression is way too low again, saying that the ATF fix kept it going and working for over a year! 👍🏻
