Great Lyn nice to see some growing flower this early in the year brighten up the dark dull days. Especially as they are dormant proof they are starting to pull of their bed hats, have a big stretch and wake up! Sorry Lyn I’m a bit of a nuisance with my videos suggestions, I’ve not got my own channel but I’ve got great ideas, like the one about all your plants that look like animals. A video off all your cactus purchases from supermarket and which shops they were from. As there is more chance of someone starting a cactus collection from supermarket plants that spend fortune on line or in garden centre. Freddy
Thanks so much Freddy :-D I am so excited to see buds already on the plants, and I can't wait until spring arrives, awwww the only problem is I can't remember where I got most of the plants from supermarkets as I have lost track haha, thanks so much Freddy for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Wales for a terrific Tuesday today XXXX
So exciting to see buds😊 I have also the same type of echinopsis which is kind of yellow so will be taking out of my greenhouse I summer hopefully it will get some colour back. Now, the cold snap is on after all heavy storm and storms, can't wait for spring.

Hi Lyn, Lovely to see your new clear polytunnel, looks fantastic!😍 The heaters you have "Bio Green" electric are ideal for our cacti plants with a dry heat, however in my greenhouse (16ft x 24ftlong) I find with the two I have quite expensive to run on so many cold nights we are getting lately here in England, so I use my two mains gas back up heaters, ok not so good with the humidity but run at half the price of my two Bio Green electric heaters, I think it's a matter of choice. (In my case how much money to run them.) Great video as normal Lyn.💖👍🌵🌵🌵
So happy you loved the Poly update Colin :-D thats fantastic with your mains gas heaters at half the cost for heating, I find the BioGreen is expensive too, especially now with the awful high elec costs, I wish we had gas here but we have old fashioned oil heating tanks like the old days, its so behind here compared to the rest of the U.K even in Belfast haha, thanks so much Colin for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and Joy lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Staffs for a wonderful Wednesday today XXXX
Happy New Year to you too Tammy :-D so happy you love the new Polytunnel, and thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Hans and me for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
Looks like your cacti doing great in the new clear poly tunnel, great to see :) only one my cacti are showing buds even tho i did pot it up few months ago so have to see if it continues or drops buds but it the reliable Mammillaria matudae it has flowered every year after about 6 years owning it so last 4 it flowered without fail, rest are still resting but fingers crossed more than one flower this year. still not built my units for the cacti still waiting for room to be cleared so have space to move all cacti to while i do the build but got got one more smaller project in the next week and bit when over the materials arrive im building a grow box to start my seedlings and younger cacti, got heated tray with many compartments so easy to now grow the faster ones separate and ive ordered a full spec growing light and reflective material for inside to keep light in side and building a box with lid on top to accommodate that, using treated pallet wood for the outer joined together with corner inside up rights, same material i used to build shelf in bathroom window but ran out room there till i build the units and shelves. so im not in a big rush now to get this year cacti seeds growing so the first test for grow box will be to start of my 7-8 chili plants types and 4-5 types of pepper plants, new light only uses 20w and according to google that approx £0.03p per hour so cheap at current rates and near radiator so the heater part what only be on short periods time but that only uses 13w , so after my chili and pepper plants ready to be potted up i move on to this year cacti seeds i want to grow and now much less limited to what time year i can grow them and it a controlled environment so they should grow faster and better too so happy days, cannot wait to get building now just waiting on post now. your new poly tunnel makes a would of difference with recording and on top that bigger and looks like your cacti loving the extra light, looking forwards to see difference in summer :)
Thanks so much Steven :-D thats fantastic your Mammillaria matudae is in bud, thats brilliant you have lots of plant projects planned for this year and building a grow box, its so exciting to get planning all the plant projects for this year, and thats fantastic your new 20w light will only use 0.3p an hour, and its so exciting to get planning the seeds you want to sow this year, I am loving the extra light in this new poly and its so good to film in there now and see the plants in their true colours instead of the green colour cast of the old polytunnel, I am so looking forward to seeing how the plants react in this new poly this spring and summer, I am counting the days until Spring arrives haha, thanks so much Steven for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday today XXXX

My parodia haselbergii has a bud forming. I am hoping it decides to make a few more because I got three buds last year. As you mentioned, it's still early days. My cacti don't take much of a winter break, but I do grow close to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, so I am very far south, and they are indoors. My echinopsis subdenudata is throwing off a pup and it's coming on fast! I really want a cute little colony of those. Otherwise, everyone is growing great!

Our winter is just sort of starting. December was warm but January is coming in real cold 🥶. Freezing temperatures are expected in the next week. The buds that started forming on mine might drop because of this sudden cold weather. Fingers crossed that they don’t. 🤞🏼
I will be keeping my fingers crossed the buds stay put for you Ana, December here was quite mild too but its gone freezing here now and snow is forecast for the coming week brrrrr, roll on spring we say haha, thanks so much Ana for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comments and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a terrific Tuesday today XXXX
Great video, good to see the buds and can't wait for spring. I'm interested in the response of some to improved light in the new polytunnel - presumably if necessary you could achieve the same by putting any yellowish cacti under a grow light? The trouble is, all my grow lights are indoors so it would also take them out of dormancy!
I really am so looking forward to the spring and counting the days haha, yes grow lights are fantastic for greening up any cacti that need extra light, I find that because some grow lights give off a bit of heat it can encourage them to grow even when I have the lights only on for a few hours in winter, I have had to switch some of my grow lights off completely in winter as a lot of my Euphorbia and cacti still kept growing haha, I try to keep my office/grow room cool at around 15c but it can be too chilly for me and I turn the heating up and the heat from the room and the lights seems to prevent some of them from resting, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
I came back from being at my parents to an unpleasant surprise... the cactus cuttings from the cactus that had suddenly rotten I mentioned before in a comment had all completely shriveled up and were overtaken by white mold. I couldn’t use them anymore to try to root them. Perhaps whatever made the parent (?) cactus die made these die too I’m not sure since I used a fungicide on them before drying them, also disinfected the knife. So now I was sad, double sad because a new plant (Astrophytum) I bought before going to my parents probably had something wrong with it before I got it because it had rotten too when I came back and was unsalvageable.... luckily the shop compensated me. I did notice what I think are buds on one of my Mammillaria so I’m happy about that at least :):):):) Would be my first cactus flowering for me ever if I’m right.
Oh no so sorry to hear about your Astrophytum and cuttings had rotted, thats gutting, but thats wonderful news your Mammillaria is coming into bud, and extra special it will be your first flowering cactus for you, thanks so much Fenrik for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
Do you think the buds could be forming earlier than usual because you brought them all in to your house whilst you hadyour new polytunnel installed and they had that extra bit of warmth where they would usually stay out all year?
Hi Craig :-D Yes I was thinking the same too, the heat in the house may have encouraged them to come into bud earlier, they were in almost total darkness for two weeks too, It will be interesting to see how the budding goes this Spring, thanks so much Craig for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a super Sunday XXXX

Hi Tom, sometimes it can be caused from natural corking as the Euphorbia ages and is harmless, some of my Euphorbia have this too, but sometimes it can also be due to things like scale insect or spider mites, it can be very difficult to say without seeing photos, if you are on facebook you could post up some photos onto the cactus groups like the British cactus and succulent society group, the group is open everyone around the world, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX

Thats fantastic news your Mammillaria haselbergii has a bud growing, and you have a wonderful pup growing on your Echinopsis subdenudata, I love it when these cuties grow lots of pups haha, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday today XXXX

One other question, I have this euphorbia that's growing this like yellow scab on all its sides most of the way up, what can I do about this?
Hi Tom, sometimes it can be caused from natural corking as the Euphorbia ages and is harmless, some of my Euphorbia have this too, but sometimes it can also be due to things like scale insect or spider mites, it can be very difficult to say without seeing photos, if you are on facebook you could post up some photos onto the cactus groups like the British cactus and succulent society group, the group is open everyone around the world, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
Kaktusy mają zdecydowanie za mało światła , dużo roślin jest zdeformowanych np -czcams.com/video/ErI2bNnxpaY/video.htmlsi=gw92Wuo9tuQ-e9sK&t=305 . To jest cena trzymania wszystkiego w jednych warunkach.
