    How can I see differences between this YT3000 and my LT2000? Skimming thru, it seems this video does not show most of the springs. RepairClinic has 4 videos about Craftsman lawn tractor springs, but my broken spring is not any of those. I keep trying to find parts diagrams / lists which show all the springs. Where can I find that?

    Awesome Video, thanks so much. I'm trying to change out the fan that cools my transmission. I'm using a ratchet set with three quarter
    Socket. But I can't stop the nut from turning , right or left brake on or off. How do I get this nut to stop moving whiles I'm trying to remove it so I can install a new fan. It's I hydrostatic and the blade is completely gone. I've been using it for a while, and didn't know I was missing the fan. After it gets hot, it will not go forward or back wards. Once it cool down its fine.

    • @BruceAvilla
      @BruceAvilla Před 3 lety

      Hey always - there is a PLASTIC bushing that is about 8" from the steering wheel end of the shaft. That's the likely spot where wear occurs. If you take the gas tank out, you can see it easily. The metal bushing at the base of the shaft that is shown being removed is probably not where the wobble is occurring. The part# is 195227 from Sears Parts Direct. $4.02 There are other videos on removing/replacing this steering column bushing.

    They YT seriers (one in this video and others has issues. The rear end mounts like to break. Its a chincy design. The actual front mount for the rear end is not braced properly. Plus the Mounts for each side of the axle are flimsy metal...What happens is everytime you push the clutch it pivots the rear end with tenion...What happens is the tenion from the pushed in clutch over the years tears the rear mounting points and since the fronts is not braced properly the front mount turns into a swing instead of actually keeping the rear bracked. Its a known problem.

    I cut my grass 2 summers with this Craftsman riding lawn mower. That is it ! Transmission gone ! Plastic ! I am an older woman and can't afford to spend $1,400.00 every two years. Sears should recall this peice of crap. I'm left with an almost new mower that doesn't work. I was told by a Sears repairman that I could buy a new lawn mower cheaper that what it would cost to replace the transmission. He even told me to never buy another Craftsman from Sears again. My last craftsman lasted 16 years. I will not buy from Sears again.

    Ok I feel like a total moron but I have to ask. The first year I had my yts3000 (2010 -2011) I took the battery for the winter... installed it in spring and never took it out again, I would just disconnect the cables for winter storage. Last summer, the battery would be dead if I didn’t use the tractor for two or three weeks, I’d charge it and it would be fine for awhile, this year it got so bad it wouldn’t hold any charge. I just bought a new battery and while installing it I noticed the “+” and “-“ terminals were opposite of the original battery so I checked the old batt and OMG!,!, I have been running the tractor with the battery hooked up backwards since the second season I owned it! So, why did it work,charge and all that without blowing up??? The terminals on the new battery ARE exactly the sam as they were on the old one, - on the left side, + on the right. But I had the red cable with red rubber boot hooked to the left side for years with no problems at all... what gives? Now I’m afraid to hook it up to the + side for fear it’s wired wrong from the factory! I followed it and it goes to the switch for the starter under the hood and the black cable I had on the + terminal goes to ground under the rear fender. So why no grand explosion or even a pop, sizzle, and puff of smoke?

      My 4500 is going on 12 years now. It's outlasted a Stihl trimmer and Husqvarna blower. New Amzoil and filter, air filter each year, 89 octane fuel, never mow wet grass, always blow off [with second blower] before putting away. Of course, the Craftsman power washer lasted 3 washings before the carb went and had to be shipped off for repair. Sadly, after a single washing, it is acting up again [complete failure to start]. Damn craftsman for removing any carburetor controls :-)

    The mower deck on the left side (same side as lever that raises and lowers it) will go down. It's hung on something. The grass expulsion side drops all the way to the ground like it's supposed to. I watched this video from the 4:51 to 4:54 mark to see what was different but I don't see any movement that's different in the lever here. My dad's simply will not push the deck down to the ground. What could it possibly be hung up on?! It doesn't appear that anything is bent underneath. We just changed the blades and this all started after that. Something must have happened when he raised the front end with the floor jack. Our Sears Store that sold this to us went out of business a couple of years ago so we're at a loss as to who to ask. Thanks.
