These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

Just a warning to anyone considering clicking on the link to the sound samples...... Prepare to be hooked for hours. In some respects the Airpods pro 2 sound like they're missing something but compared to the others, they make the vocals sound so natural whereas the others sound either veiled or boosted. That was fun. I'll have to try again with a different pair of headphones next.

The AirPods Pro 2 do not fit my right ear no matter what I do. I always have to keep thinking about it falling out and it always oozes out. I returned them and got the Bose qc 2 and I have to say I love them. They fit great and noise cancelling is the best. I don’t care about wireless charging as I don’t have that and I never really wear just one earbud (even if I did it would just be the right ear) so both of the cons are pretty moot for me. Yes they are 300 but to me they are worth it because of the Bose signature sound, the secure fit, the versatility of the buds to wear at home or at the gym comfortably, and being the anc king.

    Awesome back-to-back audio comparisons Aaron!
If you still do your own yard work, the QC IIs are crazy-good. I can't even hear my lawn tractor idling from 5ft away! Leaf blower, crazy-quiet. I had non-anr JLbuds w/ foam tips for the last 3 years. Always had to crank volume to hear music. The Bose are in a totally different league and wish I had spent the $ years ago. My ears have never fit standard airpods, so I leaned towards the QC IIs. Incredibly good fit w/ the smallest tips, but the largest backs. That adjustability is another huge win. I think the AirPods 2 win w/ form-factor & technology options for those that don't need ultimate noise reduction and ear-fit. Wow, technology has come a LONG way!!

Great comparison! I was interested primarily in the size of the earbuds because I work in a loud industrial setting and although I am allowed to wear earbuds and listen to what I want, I also use a set of hearing protectors over the earbuds. The profile is very important as even a little pinching will be annoying over the course of a shift. So thank you. The Bose QC2 seems to fit my needs, although I’ll have to buy a pair to find out. Great video!! I'll put down some of my thoughts here as well to help some viewers :)
I've bought the Sony XM4, the Sony Linkbuds S and the Bose QC2. For sound quality, since you can EQ them, I'd say they can get a good sound signature for what you like. It's not perfetct, but it's a TWS. Some compromises have to be made lol
None of them have a bad sound signature. All of them are very bassy out of the box, imo
I can't use the Sony XM4, after 1 hour my ears start hurting on the side of my ear. Tried different tips and the result is the same. I'll won't be keeping this one.
The Sony Linkbuds S have the best call quality as they have a great microphone with noise reduction so the person on the other end of the call can hear my voice much better. I'll keep this for calls
The Bose QC2s have the best ANC I've ever tried. I've had the Bose QC35 and QC45 as well. I was just on a 10hr flight and while the battery didn't die, it was just amazing how they drown out the surroundings. One thing I really liked is that during the call, the ANC is still very present and helps to hear better, but the microphone doesn't reduce as much noise as the Linkbuds S. During calls, the Linkbuds S's ANC is toned down a lot. I was testing call quality with my girlfriend and I was calling at a café where there was music in the background: I was using first the Linkbuds S then I switched to the Bose. She said she didn't even know there was music in the background when I was using the Linkbuds S. Great job on the Sony Linkbuds S here!
For comfort, both Sony Linkbuds S and Bose QC2 are great. The Bose QC2 have a better 'stability'.
Hope this helps other viewers. Cheers :)

Great that you shared this info of the ANC performance during calls! It’s unbelievable that so many earbuds (if not all?) are struggling to keep down the noise during calls, for BOTH parties: the user of the buds and the recipient of the call.
Sounds like Bose is at least trying, and maybe succeeding quite well for the user, did I understand correctly?
I bought Sony’s XM4 buds, and I’m very surprised that every time I start a call the ambient mode is forcefully kicking in, and the surrounding sounds are AMPLIFIED for me (not for the recipient). I would like the ANC to keep working at max effort also during the calls, keeping all the noise suppressed to minimum. With the Sony’s it’ hard to hear if even at home if I have a window open, because the humming of the closeby motorway is amplified. I also own Soundcore Sport X10, and in those the ANC is simply turned OFF when I start a call. And no, there is no setting in the app to prevent this from happening.

    • @AlexandreNishikawa
      @AlexandreNishikawa Před rokem +1

@@miikalammela9333 Yes! Bose keeps the ANC on during calls, but their noise reduction for the microphone is not up to par as Sony's. For the other person on the call, Sony does a better job of only transmitting your voice while Bose is better for you as a listener by keeping the ANC on. I also find it very strange that Sony turns of ANC during calls.

For me it's Bose, and always has been regardless of case size, battery life, earbud weight and even purchased the QC I Knowing the earbud fit was still as horrific and awkward as the sport sound.
Because what's important to me is the quality of sound.
It's their specific sound and how by default it's accustom to my preference of music taste by delivering very well on the top end of the frequencies to hear clear, delicate intricacies amongst specifically percussion that too much bass could/would easily drown out.
The bass can always be adjusted to support various genres and tuned well beyond if needed and that's always been the case with media player EQ or by the Bose app.
But that's my preference of EQ and how I choose which brand of headphones to go with.
I remember buying Dr Dre Beats because I thought they'd be amazing...yes amazing for some of the Bass heavy stuff I listen to. but realistically what a waste of money for me. But evidently that's Dres default preferred sound.
You should always buy which product emphasizes and supports your style of music best. That's of course you buy headphones primarily for music.
There's no such thing as "best" when it comes to this stuff.
Someone can't force a sound on me i know isn't right for me or convince me it's better.
"Wah wah wah Yeh but my case is .5cm shorter and case battery is 3.5 hours longer".
These things are getting stupid small now, that larger case by .5Cm or extra 4hours of case charge isn't going to be an issue at any point for you, not with how accessible USB/power sockets are plus the quick charge.
I actually miss having the case size of the QC I as it told me battery levels which I would like to know.
In fact overall i would prefer a slightly bigger case if it were to offer stronger protection to my £250 product and a slightly longer battery/added features.
Most kids who own these products won't know the days of struggle spending £12 on a multi pack of AA batteries for about a Weeks worth of play on a personal CD player , let alone the quality of the headphones...don't even go there
It's now features for the sake of having features

Since my liberty 2 pro don't charge anymore after 3 years I'm looking for a new one, especially for running and working out.
Sony m4, Bose QC 1 or 2... while the difefrence is very little between QC 1 and 2, I think I'll go with the 2. But when someone got the QC 1 already- why should someone update to the QC 2?
Definitely waiting for a sale dropping below 220~
About the wireless charging: saving money, in production since wireless charging isn't a big thing yet for the most. It is a nice to have but the majority don't use it from my research. It seems Bose aims with the QC 2 more to an older audience what also would make the pricetag explainable, many 40+ people, especially business people still get fooled by price = quality.
Just my opinion tho. I think without a massive sale the QC 2 are borderline outrageous with that pricetag.

ANC and sound quality are most important to me. Call quality not so much because I rarely make or receive phone calls. 90% of the time I use text to communicate with others. I don't know about the rest of the population, but most people I know do the same thing. They text a lot more than call. As for single earbud mode, I don't know why this is a deal breaker for some people. You can still use the right earbud in single mode on the QC2. But why do you even buy ANC earbuds and put so much emphasis on this feature? Using a single earbud defeats the purpose of ANC. I'd get the Air Pro2 if my phone was an iPhone. But I use an Android phone, and so the QC2 is my choice.

Apple Music has sooooooooo modernized the old tunes that they sound almost as good as today’s music. This guy is focusing on looks and slippage. My earbuds “Stay Put” and sound Phenomenal. I've got the Bose QCII and I’m very happy with them, I had a pair of Jabra 75 Active Elite and they were useless, one bud would work and then not work, they wouldn’t pair so I got frustrated and splurged on these.

Bose has been in the audio game for a long time and know their stuff. I primarily brought it for the ANC thinking it would completely eliminate noise and hearing people, but it doesn’t you can still hear people on the train depending on how loud they are, (but no earbuds / earphones do). But they muffle sound by about 50%
It turns down the world around you by about 50%, even standing next to heavy traffic, sound is greatly reduced. Listening to music is awesome, sound is clear and crisp and you can't hear anything else when listening to music, they fit comfortably and can move your head all different directions and the sound isn’t compromised, awesome buds, very happy with them.
It would be nice in the future if they could develop the noise cancelling even further to 90% but they’re great, a bit pricey but Bose always is, recommended.

IMO if you want the Top ANC in the business and have 3 C notes burning a hole in your pocket...... go for the QC 2's. Otherwise with no wireless charging, no multipoint, limited customizability, above average sound, average call quality, there are SO many better options even at the budget to mid level of the bud market to choose from. IMO, If you want all the top tier features and almost as good of ANC go for the AP2's. And if multipoint is your priority well there so many offering's from 50 bucks up, just take your pick. My personally favorites are the Soundcore's L3's and 4's both of which I paid 70 and 80 bucks respectively.

As a musician I value a more even response. I want detail and space. I want to hear the mix as it was intended. It seems that the AirPods 2 Pro were most interested in that goal. I do suspect that many listeners prefer a bass heavy overly warm mix that is smooth and easy to listen to.

I’d love you to review the NURA TRUE PRO earbuds. Lossless Bluetooth (on compatible devices), adaptive eq analysed for each user etc. I’m considering buying them or one of these in this comparison.

Was the equalizer turned off for all the earbuds during all the tests? It wouldn't make sense to compare sound if they all had different presets
