    Your video was really helpful to me. I purchased this grill a year ago, but due to the rainy summer we had, I was unable to use the grill until this year. I love it. I used charcoal, and my food taste smoked. Thank you for the revie, sir.

    Had a char griller offset for 9 years and gifted it to a buddy when moving outta state. Have a 5 burner gas grill, pitboss xl pellet smoker and a vertical Cuisinart propane smoker. I kinda miss having a charcoal grill and I dont need an offset anymore. Been looking at some of these kettle grills.
    Side note but a good tip I learned when using a chimney in windy conditions is to layout some newspaper or whatever starter you're gona use and drizzle a little oil on it and then rub it in.. i mainly used newspaper and it works great, never had a fire go out in a windy situation.

    You can even make pizza in that kettle 👍 Just get some 18" pizza pans and a short wide heavy duty pizza peel , The kettle will season the pizza pans and they will last for ever 😉

    ONLY REASON I GOT THE WEBER KETTLE was? it was the cheapest at the time 38 bucks 😆 I like to roast a turkey and big things in my grill as well as PIZZA. It cooks pizza perfect top to bottom with in 20 min at 250 deg up to 500 degs in 10 mins depending on your heat

    On the cooking rack holders did you cut the screws down or bought shorter ones?

    • @ChrisRiley3D-Everything
      @ChrisRiley3D-Everything  Před 2 lety

      Yes i cut the excess off the screws after i installed the holders. i used a die grinder with a cut off wheel. easy mod that makes a big difference.

    Thanks for this video Chris. I too was not real happy about the very high prices of the Weber line. Fortunatly I can get one at my local Walmart down the street here in Tennessee.

      yeah i love this grill for the price it's amazing! only it does seem to take a little more charcoal to keep it hot than some other grills but im ok with that for how big & deep this grill is!

    • @percynorris2498
      @percynorris2498 Před 11 měsíci

      Man I cooked a 12 lb brisket and I only filled one side basket up twice but I keep it closed and opened it as little as possible. Your right though you can't beat it for the price.

    I have a Pit Boss pellet grill and a Kamado Joe Big Joe III. I’ve been thinking about adding a kettle to my grill arsenal. These look great! How is it holding up after all this time? Love the video, my friend!

    • @ChrisRiley3D-Everything
      @ChrisRiley3D-Everything  Před 2 lety +1

      i absolutely love this grill, especially for the price. it's very heavy and well made, extra deep if you want to use real hickory logs, almost to deep for charcoal briquettes. i mounted my cooking grate holders upside down to lower the cooking grate down a few inches and that worked great, i made a video on it. they say the webber is the best but i cant see how it could be that much better and it cost 3 times as much. i will be getting mine back out soon and making more videos on it. thanks for watching!

    I have the opportunity to order one off of the Walmart website up here in Canada, I am thinking of doing some winter BBQ lol…. Even up here this grill is the right price. Cheers!

      i have cooked on it many times now and i still love this grill. for long slow cooks go with regular charcoal and for fast hot cooks like steaks go with lump charcoal. when it's new it's hard to regulate your heat cause the lid don't have a seal around it but after you cook on it a few times the smoke will make a sticky residue between the lid rim and the grill. and that will seal it up great on it's on. then you can regulate the heat great. so don't clean around the lid rim of the grill. every where else you can keep it clean if you want after each cook. Brother all i can say is take a chance on this grill. it's cheap compared to a Webber and in my opinion just as good and in some ways better. this grill is very deep and very heavy. you defiantly get your money's worth. Brother i hope you get one and i hope you are as happy as me. by the way my lid had a ding on the edge but i taped it back out with a hammer in about 5 sec's. Happy grilling.

    I saw several other older reviews say that the ash pan has a huge gap which makes the lower vents useless cause its like they are always full open. Have they fixed that issue on the one you got? Thinking about getting one.

    • @ChrisRiley3D-Everything
      @ChrisRiley3D-Everything  Před rokem

      mine is not that way but if it was that's an easy fix with some felt stripping for grills. this grill works best with lump charcoal or a mixture of lump and briquettes. this is a very thick heavy grill not thin like most.

  • @milo9422
    @milo9422 Před rokem

    Will it extinguish the lump charcoal when you close off the air so as to save your charcoal?

    • @ChrisRiley3D-Everything
      @ChrisRiley3D-Everything  Před rokem

      Yes just cut off all the vents. To make the grill seal up even better i clean my grill everywhere except around the lip of the lid. let some smutt & grease build up in the lip and then the lid will seal up tight.

    Looks like it might use the same grates as the Weber? I just ordered one from Wal-Mart because my Weber is rusted clean through.

    • @ChrisRiley3D-Everything
      @ChrisRiley3D-Everything  Před rokem +1

      i think the weber grates will work. i still love this grill. very large & deep. Best money i ever spent on a grill.
