  • Enclosures are a huge part of laser safety, from controlling smoke and debris to reducing exposure to harmful laser light. But they can also restrict your ability to monitor the laser when operating. Atomstack has developed a bolt-on enclosure for their A6 series of lasers. It is made of laser-safe acrylic on all sides and includes a powerful exhaust fan and a nice lightburn-compatible camera for positioning your work.

    Wish someone would make a "generic" enclosure like this that would fit any system (I currently have algolaser 20) but their new cover is $250!

    Very cool. This seems like a huge upgrade over my Atomstack A5. I really want something with cutting ability. Are you going to get the big 70 watt they have coming out?

      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes this is a really nice laser and the direct mounted enclosure makes it that much better! I'm hoping to be able to check out the 70w laser from Atomstack soon. I'm curious about it's cutting capabilities as well.

    Makes me wonder if i should of gotten this instead of the phecda

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci

      This one has a smaller working area then the Phecda. But this enclosure on the A24 is a really nice addition. The built in camera is a really nice touch as many want to add that to their enclosures and have to sort out how to add it as an add on.

    Steve, very nice enclosure! I was looking at a Acmer P2 20w. How comparable are the two machines?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci

      They are very close in performance. The Acmer has a larger working area than the A24. I like the air assist on the A24 better, the magnet safety shroud pops off this one easily and the air assist pump and cone are better in my mind on the A24. The cable management on this A24 is very good too. So as long as you are okay with the smaller working area on this one I'd strongly consider it.

      Will the 70w have an enclosure as well?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci

      The 70w looks to be more of the typical frame like the X and A series so I would imagine their normal soft sided enclosure is what they will offer for that.

    My enclosure did not come with a power supply for the fan, what type of power supply did you use for yours?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It should have come with a Y harness power cable to plug into the power adaptor that came with the laser. But to use a separate power adaptor, you'll need a 24V power supply with a barrel plug the same as the one on the laser.

    Will that fit an x7 pro?

      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci

      Unfortunately no, this was built specifically for the A6 series unibody frames.

      @Vintauri thank you do you know of any of the new enclosures they make ,not the fold up ones ,that will?

      @Vintauri  Před 4 měsíci

      I'll have a video out tomorrow on one similar to this that may fit the bill. It's an all acrylic enclosure with a hinged lid and 4" exhaust port.

    This enclosure has problems. 1. The camera is a pain to calibrate if you even can. 2. The design with the pigtail switch for the exhaust is stupid. 3. The switches on the door are unreliable and can cause the machine to stop in the middle of a job or sometimes the machine will not start unless you open and close the door. 4. The most current B3 version ships with a giant ugly sticker across the entire top that uses adhesive that can't be removed without damaging the acrylic.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 3 měsíci

      The camera is a little picky on calibration, I found using a sheet of white paper as the background allowed it to pick up the dot pattern much easier. Once calibrated it was very accurate. I agree the pigtail switch is a poor design. I have not had any issues with the door limit switches, hopefully support can help you with replacing those. I'd hope that a huge sticker would not be placed on the cover as that defeats the purpose of the acrylic. Have you tried using a little heat from a blow dryer to soften up the adhesive to remove it?

      Thank you for the info on the camera, this has been such a struggle. I have it "calibrated" but it's nowhere near reliable on lining up material for cutting. I'll give this a try.
