    In Mauritius we use to celebrate new borns. We also make halwa but a different recipe and roti. They also make a special type of laddoo we call it "Kasaar " And we after the rituals, we party (veg/non veg foods and drinks) . May God bless the baby and his parents 🙏🙏🙏

Love the way you narrate, and how you describe it in great detail consistently. We typically celebrate the ninth day with food , and alcoholic beverages. I really enjoyed all your videos. You always do a fantastic job with your camera not panning too fast so we can enjoy the video. Thank you for the great videos always.

    God bless the child and congratulations to the parents.I like the halwa puri they served thats the hindu tradition of Uttar Bharat and Bihar .Only one thing which i do not like is kicking lamp and women not applying bindi and wearing saree.

    In Trinidad they celebrate 6 and 12 days but same rituals as on the 9 days in Guyana they do it on the 6days .I had to do this way with my kids and grandkids .I always know it as 9 days back home .The Halwa and dosti roti yummy I ❤it very much .fantastic keep it up.

    I am from Kolkata. I have heard all ships for FIJI, Mauritus, Trinidad and Gyana used to sail from Kolkata which was then the capital of british raj .

      @@ITSOURLIFEARD Thats normal. Even today about 30% of Kolkata population is from Bihar and UP east. Maithili,Magadhi, Bhojpuri belt. Now adays Kolkata is not that developed and we all migrate to Delhi ,Mumbai and Bengaluru.

    I'am from Suriname ,and this tradition looks so stranged to me. In Suriname when a child is born we celibrate the 6th day and call it " Chatti" And we never eat meat during any hindu ritual allways vegetarian. Anyhow blessings to the newborn.

      I’m not sure if the did any prayer on the 6 day. I’ll have to find out. Maybe the prayer are done on day six and the celebration on day 9.

    This reminded me of this ritual taking place in Mauritius when I was a child. Sadly it has faded, but the halva and kasaar is still prevalent.
