    Jodie continues to develop. Her furious attacks are more controlled. She is better at wwaiting out openings. High kicks begin to work. Follow up kicks with punch assaults... A little odd the ref wasnt fond of Jodie throwing down Nongina after catching her leg. He behaved as if it were a faulty clinch. Took much on Jodie but not in the same leecherous way as ref in Petrat match. Nice to see Jodie after the match is impeccably polite and friendly to opp.

    • @barneydenstad2148
      @barneydenstad2148 Před 5 lety +2

      NOngina took much beating but did fight bravery and skilled to the end.

    • @barneydenstad2148
      @barneydenstad2148 Před 5 lety +2

      I think I know now why the ref is so often interrupting Jodies throwing downs. A kind swedish martial fighter explained to me: some thai jrefs arent fond of throwings, they want fight not people crawling spread around on floor.
      Huh? Wrestling down doesnt gives automatical points. Its embarrassing for the wrestled down, but will decide anything only if the match is absolutely even in points. To get points tor felling down you must use an allowed muay technique, for example sweeping the other leg, or kicking aside the other leg. So the real question here, is why Jodie whom is so fond and so good at catching opps kicking leg, isnt training more on a correct point giving technique??
      OK. Jodie shows early she is fully able to wrestle down Nongina. So later on, when she catches the leg, ref looks one second to see if Jodie will use some correct technique, for example a sweep or kick technique. When he sees Jodie doesnt do it but tries to wrestle Nongina down with raw force, he interrupts. Everyone notice the wrestling down is coming, Jodie gets the plus for it as a side note, but there is no point with proceeding the wrestling, as it anyway wont get her any new points but have extra risks of someone being hurt... So he interrupts, rather briskly as we see. He even stabilizes and gives supporting hand to Nongina.
      So he isnt mean even if somewhat rough to Jodie, he is just for business as usual. Very professional in his somewhat rough way.
      I do believe in this explanation and my interpretation. I have for another example seen a youth match, I think it was even with the young promising Mongkunpet, fighting against a good opp. The opp wrestled down petite Mongkunpet multiple times. Really embarrassing even humilitating. Clear win? No, Mongkunpet was declarerd winner. She apparently got more clear hits then the opp, while opp was busying herself with these wrestle down exercises... If the opp just would try to get more hits instead, she would surely win. :)

    • @barneydenstad2148
      @barneydenstad2148 Před 5 lety +3

      Another point to notice, is Nongina has a good cardio. Nongina fought in full into the end. As we take Jodies earlier matches there she had a big advantage in better cardio. Most visibly with Yokpet, whom was very good as long as she wasnt tired. But she got visibly tired already in the end of rond 1. If it is because she got to get down her weigt sitting in sauna a whole day before the match, or because many thai females really dont have good cardio as we would expect from pros.... I dont know. Anyways, Nonginas endurance and cardio are above average among Jodies opps and probably also among the other female thai pros.
