I died so many times from not running quick enough between the ice and fire thing! Glad I was on support and not ruining it for a party! Thank you for explaining the mechanics so clearly :)
If you're still having trouble, it's probably with the Dualstar mechanic; just remember that you don't have to wait for the ice/fire effects to disappear. That seems to be the main cause of wipes when I run this. You can run as soon as the floor effect starts, like he does at 6:20.
I accidentally died twice as a healer in the last boss phase during the fire and ice sphere part causing wipes.... Felt so bad that I took so much time out of my party members to do this + the fact I watched all the cutscenes 😭😭 But luckily they were nice about it 😥💖 But this guide really helps alleviate my "new dungeon" anxiety so thanks for making these!!
The last fight rework has been quite recent, so don't worry about it. I've seen very experienced players die in that fight too, so don't feel like you failed. You learnt from your mistakes and improved. That's what matters.
If it's any comfort, I've lost count of how many times I've been venn-diagram'd by Dualstar and Prime Fusion. And this was with Duty Support where if you die, it's considered a party wipe and you have restart the boss fight.
Most of my PUG wipes happen in this dungeon, making me think that this seems to be THE beef gate forcing you to pay real attention to mechanics. Dualstar is guaranteed to wipe sprouts, kickstarting a spiral where further wipes feed their anxiety, further messing up their timing. Funny thing is it might simply be a visual issue, because the game never teaches you how damage actually applies relative to animation effects; most people have a hard time comprehending that's it's perfectly safe to run as soon as the floor effect starts, wasting precious milliseconds waiting for the ice/fire to disappear. While avoiding a full restart is more convenient, I have an inkling that not being able to re-experience the introductory mechanics is causing some harm.

Just finished this dungeon for the first time. This guide is so useful for understanding what exactly was going on during that final final fight.
Such a fantastic series!
"Wait until all players are on the lift before pressing the button" - proceeds pressing the button while being alone in the lift - twice ;_)
Thankfully, those particular "players" can teleport. Lol.
But thanks for seeing the joke with that 😄
Good stuff. Great quick help! (as quick as you can make it for such a juicy boss)

I just did this on duty support yesterday and that's EXACTLY what happened to me, and obviously a bunch of other people too. Lesson learned lol
I appreciate you showing what consequences there are for failing mechanics, and I’m not totally taking notes of what I can greed :3
2:50 ALWAYS got me messed up, freakin' Coils mechanics... Also the revamped Ascian Prime fight is great!
DAMN that last fight is a step up from the old version! It's exhilarating; I love it. Thanks for helping me only mess it up once
ah yes, aetherfishing, wait, you can do that here? Damn.
Man ive had to explain the final final boss alot to people who havent fought them or since the update.
Fantastic!
