    Skip the socket and use a box end wrench. Sockets can sometimes tilt a little under stress and over time your drainplug will start to round off. I have changed a lot of oil since 1970 and I am speaking from experience.

    Quality oil you got

    2nd thought, when you filled the filter, wasn't that about a cup? 8 oz 1/2 pint - so this would reduce the pour in of the 3.9 Q? And so I see that you did not start the engine, rest and then recheck the dipstick? So I thought you had to check it after the oil went up into the engine, then drained, a few mins. then check dipstick?

    See this is what I have been saying for years. I watch oil change videos and most people jack the car up. Do what this guy did and buy a set of ramps. So much easier and safer. Boggles my mind why you would not.

    Enthusiasts Garage, did you notice much difference between this Pennzoil Full Synthetic vs. the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy you used in a previous video of the Toyota Corolla 10k oil change interval?

      No, they’re basically the same. The Honda gets 5k mile oil changes. Most “full synthetic” oils are the same formula.

      @@EnthusiastsGarage thanks! I’m checking out different synthetics, but really, I’m not seeing much of a difference. And that’s including house brands such as Super Tech by WalMart. I’m guessing as long as they comply with API and ILSAC specifications. 👍🏼

      @@EnthusiastsGarageOnly 5k? The oil I bought says it's good for 20k miles or one year. Is this not a good idea?

    • @EnthusiastsGarage
      @EnthusiastsGarage  Před 11 měsíci +3

      @@VinnytotheK depends on your driving. 5k is a good universal number. 10k for mostly highway driving. 20k is way to much.
