    I am so glad I grew up with the music from the last 50 years as there will never be another era as we all have experienced as this generation. What a great time when music had a purpose and meaning. It touched all of our souls in one way or another. Music is the key to life as far as I am concerned. I can't tell how much I appreciate the soul these great musicians poured out to all of us to hear and enjoy. Awesome song writers and performers of this era will last forever! Amen to all of them!

    This is a glimpse of music at it's absolute best and he has put his entire soul in to it. There will always be a debate about this, but the music of this era will be, at best, difficult to match. There was so much passion, heart and love for the music that was being created back then. And that passion, heart and love came from those who created it and those who had the great fortune to be around to hear it and we were even more fortunate to have this as the foundation of our musical experiences during our formative and youthful years of life. True beauty.

    • @MissDistarr60
      @MissDistarr60 Před 9 lety +53

      ***** I am a child of the 60's as well. It was during our generation that music went through it's biggest change. If you think about it, Rock/pop was really in it's infancy during our generation (I'm not referring to the true origins of Rock). It was the bands of our era that created Rock "as we know it today." Like you said, today's music is a variation of what they created. They were the pioneers. They didn't have a mold or blue print to follow. They made the mold which to some degree is what is being used in todays music. The bands of today certainly have an advantage over the bands from back in the day. I don't think any other period of time will see such a massive change in music. Nor will they see the number of incredible song writers or the quality of music that came out of that era. It was music in it's original form, which had the human touch all over it. Music today seems to have lost that human touch. It's taken on a high tech touch. I'm not saying there isn't some great music out there today, but it's kind of hard to completely appreciate music that you know has been so altered. This of course is my musically uneducated opinion. So please, if anyone disagrees, which I think we can count on, by all means send your difference of opinion. But if you feel the need to include insults, please keep it to yourself, as personally, I'm so over all the nasty, hateful BS remarks we see on comment pages. If someone doesn't insult you, they deserve the same respect and that is my strong opinion on that subject. Thank you and have a great day:)

    I have always been a Morrison fan (of a younger group, being 46 now) but I have always liked his earlier stuff and for the moment being back home recovering from a major surgery, my dad overheard VAN coming from my room (yes MUSIC is absolutely my therapy).
    Dad has difficulty hearing now from years of working with damaging equipment ..however he has taken so much pleasure in finding a common ground for us that I think even if he can't hear it as clearly as either he would like or I would like for him to...I still think he would enjoy seeing the concert at the Shrine in January together...he brought in the turntable from the garage and all of his VAN MORRISON...he since brought in other vinyl for me but the Van came first .... He was especially pleased when he was the one to educate me that the song "GLORIA" was written by VM

    IN 69, Morrison moved to the bay area. Not known to me, Bert Berns had virtually shut him down and made it impossible for him to make a living on the east coast. To his credit, Bill Graham gave him, (as I remember), one night a week to play the old Fillmore. I was there every night for year or so. Watched the man grow in front of my eyes and ears, devleloping Moondance and His Band and Sreet Choir. Working those chops on the horn. I saw everybody, Who, Hendrix, Traffic, Zeppelin.... Nothing came close to this man's genius.

    One of the most spontaneous and romantic moments I’ve ever had with my wife dancing to this song in a living room in Dublin. I’ll never forget it. Everyone needs to feel like that once in their life. ❤️

    So soulful and sweet. Actually taking some time to appreciate the music from my mother's era (I'm 36). I miss her and this reminds me of her playing her records when I was little. RIP, momma.
