    I definitely recommend "Weird fishes/Arpeggi" from this same session. Radiohead has a lot of different sounds within their music spectrum. I was a metal head and industrial rock guy. I heard a couple of songs from them starting in the early 90s. I got hooked on Radiohead. They shaped my musical landscape from just metal, punk, hard rock, and industrial. I listen to much more variety now. Started with Radiohead.

      This is so true. I was super into the prog/djent/metalcore scene in the 2010's. I heard All I Need at a friend's house and I remembered hearing it as a kid somewhere and man what a moment. Like seeing a really old friend. I still listen to all that shreddy chuggy shit but man...there's truly nothing else sonically like Radiohead.

      Yes Ed is a great live backing vocalist. He doesn’t actually get enough recognition for it in my opinion. He’s an essential part of Radiohead - they all are, it’s just that Thom and Jonny are the primary geniuses, songwriters and composers, so they get most of the attention.

    I vividly remember the first time I listened to this song. I was homeless and roaming all around Europe 2 years ago. I had recently got into Radiohead and absolutely adored OK Computer. One fateful night in Portugal I decided to listen to the album all the way through. I had not eaten anything that day and was pretty bummed about that. So I was ready to tuck in my tent quickly and call it a day. Then, I remembered that I had downloaded the album earlier that morning so decided to roll some leftover hash i had while the album played. I was really enjoying the whole vibe of the album and then it happened.. Reckoner came on and it totally hipnotized me. I was smiling all the way through the song. It had been a terrible day for me but listening to this song for the first time made me forget my circumstances and appreciate everything. This moment will always stay closely with me

    The entire From the Basement session is epic. I still remember the first time I watched them live; I ended up feeling myself floating while dancing all over the place as if someone had just stuck an electric wire deep inside my spine...it was beautifully poetic.
    And the fact I was high on just the smell of the pot from the people smoking all around me, had nothing to do with it. Radiohead live is another experience, like a literal out of body experience. A special and unique moment for everyone in the audience; plus, it's alway enjoyable to watch Mr. Yorke dance as if he had a spring attatched to his body, phenomenal indeed.

    They have stuck to a early agreement/policy amongst themselves when performing anything Live……it has to be LIVE. They create all sounds on the stage…no pre-recordings, etc…..Thus giving them proper interesting challenges when they tour anything they’ve just recorded as an album going forward, “How the fuck are we going to perform this LIVE?”

    They are great. Most musicians I know that may not be fans of them respect them. They are progressive without being pretentious about it. They really influenced so many and yes, the drummer actually studied jazz drumming since being a kid and you hear it’s influence on many tracks. Radiohead may not be certain peoples flavor, but like I hinted at, they changed the game, especially in the Alt world.

  • @Torthrodhel
    @Torthrodhel Před 2 lety

    I've only just started watching but I can well imagine the reason why people were so insistant you listen to a particular version of the song. It's not because of the studio version (which is similar), it's probably because there are very early versions of the song that are almost unrecogniseable by comparison (from many years before this one's release and sometimes titles "Pulled Apart by Horses"). By far it is their most transformed song I believe - enough so that at one point before they ended up radically changing it, the band on their blog called the song "officially dead". It honestly wasn't a very good track back then, I gotta say just from personal opinion - had an energy to it that I usually enjoy from them but the main riff wasn't good enough and there wasn't much else to it. A hybrid version might be interesting if they ever tried to do that (I've messed around with the idea myself a little just for giggles) but it'd be like mixing two different songs together. Kinda tricky to know how they got from the one to the other.
    Anyway, just thought I'd explain that in case it was interesting. :)

    there is definitely no track on this bro. Radiohead don't do that. Any vocal layering will either be delay and loop pedals or Ed on backing vocals.

      Its something Thom has stated in an interview. They have a band rule that they never play along to a track. Everything is played/ triggered/ manipulated live. Thats why its often complicated for them to figure out how they're going to do certain songs in a live setting, and why live versions are often v different to studio versions (usually in amazing ways)

      I don't see that one in the que, so it would have to be a fresh request. You can suggest songs on here, and if your suggestion happens to already be in the que, I am more than happy to add your name to the requesters of that song. However in order to make fresh brand new requests, you have to be a Bronze Tier member on the Patreon page. It's only $5 per month and you can make fresh requests, along with watch all the videos I've done that CZcams blocked and participate in Patreon community events and enjoy exclusive content for Patreon members only.

      Yeah I dont care to much about getting my name shouted out I just think that rh has a lot of songs you would really like. Maybe check it out in your free time if you get any and feel inclined. Thom Yorke on the drums on that one. I do enjoy your reactions. Have a good one man.

    Why do people always react to the live versions, do the studio versions get blocked?

    • @THEDavidHeretic

      As I have repeatedly stated, I didn't choose the video. This was a request, just like all my reaction videos are, and the requesters specifically chose this video for e to use. That's why I insist on requesters providing me with a link, that way I do use the correct video that they want me to use. Otherwise there's a good chance I'll use the wrong video, then it's not really their request.

    Dude, please stop with the pig noises... it's fucking annoying. We want to hear what you have to say, and if you need to rewind a bit to hear something twice nobody fucking cares. If we just wanted to listen straight through the song we'd just go to spotify. We're here for your reaction.
