If you're not pulling past 7k, you have a vdi or aux port opening problem. Also, that factory intake manifold is actually designed to make more power with the stock air box because of the resonance from the fresh air duck.
The car does rev out all its factory rpm. I personally just don't like taking it to limiter. I knew when doing the cold air I was more than likely doing more harm than good, But who can resist the sweet intake noises it makes now lol. Thanks for the insight though.
@@ssquaredcustomz8406 aem intake is the only one that actually adds hp so you’re probably good
@@ssquaredcustomz8406 also he means that the car should increase hp past 7. Vdi opens at 7500. the VDI makes a HUGE difference
You should be running the car all the way to 9000 as well.

Hi i have Rx8 2005 standart six port ,only header and filter ecu reflash factory engine renesis ,in dyno pulls 200hp the man programer is the best💪
you should buy versatuner and make ur own tune mess with the ssv vdi valves opening times and get some good data would also suggest takign the upper intake maifold off and putting some seafoam in ur vdi ports the get really nasty with carbon.
yeah, i need to get into it. Honestly haven't had much motivation to mess with the ole Rex lately. I'll definitely look into that though!
I use versatuner on my 09. fun stuff to play with. also helpful data logging for troubleshooting those pesky port problems
What is the point of dyno, when max power is rated from factory at 8500revs and you are not hiting it? Mine rx8 170kW from 2003 has very similiar setup, except I have "equal" lenght exhaust header and upgraded coils. Most fun is to rev it and I mean rev it hard 😆
No real reason, just doing it to see where it's at. If I ever decide to try and add some power I'd like to know what my baseline was. 🤷♂️

Would suggest better coils if you haven't already. Bennett built is what I am running, BHR is another PnP setup. Install is very simple and keep the situation tidy. If you haven't done plugs in a while do them with the new coils and it'll be a happy camper. Oem work but they aren't good in the high revs for long.
i actually just done plugs a few weeks ago probably less than 100 miles on them. i have looked into the BHR coils havent heard of the Bennet built ones ill have to check those out for sure. ultimate goal is to run this motor as long as i can and then put on the money into a rew swap.
@@ssquaredcustomz8406 same thing here man cant wait for that project. Bennett built is US manufactured I believe so you'll save money cause it's homeland for you. Definitely will smooth out idle and keep the spark plugs clean. I'd run those in that motor until you REW swap.
@@ssquaredcustomz8406 u can use LS coils and new high voltage wires, but for LS coils you need to reconfigure the ECU. And bring back stock air box or install GREEN CAF (looks like a bucket).

@@ssquaredcustomz8406 0.5 - 0.8 bar and good configure the ECU + porting = ~280 - 320 hp (it's safe enough), but porting + good configure the ECU + exhaust = 270 - 290 hp with with less problems. And good cooling system - must have!
