question, if you have say a 100 foot cable, how do you make sure both ends are correct?

You can use the outer jacket sheathing that you remove in the initial step to "untwist" the twisted pair by separating the cut end just a little, then using the sheathing, place on one of the wires from the pair and move it down the pair and it will untwist.
