- New York Central's Empire State Express. On December 7, 1941, the New York Central inaugurated a new stainless-steel streamlined train, powered by a streamlined J-3a Hudson (4-6-4) steam locomotive. The streamlined shrouding of the J-3a Hudson was designed by Mr. Chase H. Knowlton and Mr. George M. Davies. Oddly, Henry Dreyfuss wasn't involved with the project, but it was based on his original design. The inauguration was completely overshadowed. You'll note the date was the day of Pearl Harbor being bombed.
[Note: I've had 2 problems with this previously-owned locomotive. I can't get the smoke or the sound to be more than just a whisper, despite researching and applying all the assigned digital controls. MTH locomotives usually have better smoke than this. You'll note that in the video. I think doing a factory reset may increase my chances of solving the problem. But, at least the locomotive runs smoothly! In HO scale!]

Tim, I noticed some lengths of rail on the side in one shot. Are you handlaying all your track?
