“What are you? A Mythbuster?” Might be the funniest thing ever said on this show
It was definitely a very satisfying intersection of content giants
not even the funniest thing on this episode lol
@@amoxl114nah definitely the funniest thing this episode lmao
Thank you, Link, for being enough of a man to admit that there's always at least a little splatter and that's gross. Not only on the floor, but the back of the toilet, the walls nearby, and anything you unfortunately tried to store next to said toilet.
Anywhere in the bathroom
it’s a law of nature
I love that I read this comment before watching the video
Some of the folks that come into my work will leave splatter EVERYWHERE ON THE TOILET. How do you do that? Is this common
@@camilleboddy8849me too
No matter how much Rhett tries to make it seem weird that Link sits down to pee....... sorry but it technically is cleaner, even if you "bank" it. I actually appreciate Link making sure no extra piss gets on the bottom of the toilet seat or around
I know a lot of guys that sit to pee, it's not that big of a deal
It's normal
Is it a big deal? no. Is it weird? Absolutely lol; but weird isn't bad.
Standing to pee is a male privilege we must celebrate. Jk do you
How in the world is it weird? Men has been sitting down on the toilet since earlier than 2000 BC. Do you know why toilets have seats? Could the purpose of toilet seats maybe be... like, idk? Sitting?
that "not really" from rhett earned a laugh and then another laugh when the crew realized what he was saying 😂😂

As someone who lives in NYC, you DEFINITELY have to stand on the right side of an escalator
I was wondering if this wasn't a thing in the US because of how oblivious they seemed to it lol! In London this would never fly by, stand on the side or people will get pissed!
As a Tennessean I've never noticed anyone adhering to escalator etiquette, but we don't have public transport with escalators here, if you come across one you're probably at the mall and people aren't in much of a hurry there
RIGHT, I'm in Chicago and I was like "uh, wrong" lol
Same here in the Bay Area! Everything is so fast-paced that people usually stand to the side.
@@BeatrizAlmeidaaa Yep fellow UK peep here (But I'm from up North!) and I was tutting at Link saying there's no expectation to stand to the side 😂
There’s literally signs on all the escalators for our subway stations that say “stand right, walk left” to reinforce the expectation that you stand to the right on escalators.
I've never seen that in any major city. You are absolutely not supposed to walk on escalators. That rule is for moving walkpaths only.
Yup, London Underground has this on every escalator
@@jimmyyarbrough9883not sure where you are from but in the UK it’s definitely a rule on escalators.
@@jimmyyarbrough9883I saw it in New York City 😊
@karlijns172 Yep, it's the same in the Seoul subway. Walk left, stand right. If you block the way, people will tell you to move.
Regarding Link's take on escalator etiquette, I took it as he's just coming from the perspective of someone who doesn't associate escalators with bustling cities where they're utilized in public transport, which is why he emphasized in a mall (or store)-places where people are typically walking at a more leisurely pace than rather than rushing and the escalators aren't very lengthy. Also not sure if this is just me, but I feel like some escalators don't even seem that wide to let people comfortably and swiftly pass you by, especially if you're carrying bulky bags or items
yeah coming from a busy city I feel like it’s more common to see people walking up the escalator to get somewhere faster
I don't think I ever encountered an escalator so narrow that it can't fit 2 people. At least not in places where it's meant to be used by many people at once, which is the only place this would happen.
In Taipei and most other cities/places in east Asia, standing on the right is actually a posted "rule" in a lot of places there and followed by the vast majority of people. This includes malls and other more leisurely places. This is definitely a cultural difference, but it is frustrating that people here are so oblivious to it.
Agreed most escalators I have been on have not been wide enough for two people to fit on, with one passing. I dont walk on escalators either but that's only because I don't like heights and I get motion sickness easily. And where I'm from that can sometimes be the only option or an elavator and I get motion sickness on those too. 😅
I hope you're correct. I have multiple escalators on my commute to/from work and if some is standing on the left side people will be pissed. Walk on the left, stand on the right. Most everyone (excluding tourist and small children) adhere to the rule.
Rhett looks like a clever werewolf and Link looks like an angsty teen werewolf that has wild hair.
Rhett rolls worgen mage
Omg 😂
I love that Link said he didn’t want to touch the “cupcake” in the trash can lid, so he grabbed the TOILET BRUSH to push it through 🤣 oh yeah, so much cleaner.
I thought the same thing! Just use a paper towel, Link!
@@AverageCZcamsr76 he said it was a paper towel trapped IN the square opening of the can, did he not?
He also picked up the trash can lid itself
Disgusting-
He also shakes it!
7:58 -- Link: there's no expectation that anyone should be walking up the escalator.
Friend, your "country boy" is showing. 🤣
Link's never taken the subway and it shows lmao
Links entirely right, as a "city boy" y'all can slow down, escalators move for a reason and most people aren't pushing past people in a hurry up them there usually isn't a "middle" to an escalator
You are never supposed to walk while on escalators, only moving walk paths.
If someone tried to push by me on a moving escalator, they'd catch an elbow real quick.
Huh, I had totally agreed with him.
During the conversation regarding standing in the middle of an escalator, it became VERY clear that neither of them have spent time in big cities where using the subway as a mode of transportation is wildly common. 😂
I think they have, but only since they’ve become rich & famous - aka, they only use Ubers etc.!!
I was yelling the same thing. I’m from DC and when tourists are standing on the left it is the most infuriating thing.
@@Rebecca_Lin9494I've seen a woman get yelled at on the escalator in DC bc she was standing on the left side 😭 we don't play with metro etiquette
@@gabbyleyva6631spoiler: I was that yelling woman (probably)
If you stand to pee, you clean the bathroom. I don't care how much Rhett 'banks' it. It still gets everywhere.
Especially the toilet rim! My husband and son both use some tp to wipe the rim, but I still clean the toilet with some Clorox and a paper towel daily. I just can't stand that stale pee smell that happens 🤢
Your wrong nimrod it doesn't make a mess also its WAY more sanitary standing up to pee
@@randomguy1706 you’re *
Men that pee sitting down understand how disgusting peeing standing up can be. Pee splatter is inevitable when you pee standing up and it makes the toilet smell like urine. More men should pee sitting down
19:04 the fact that rhett was in his own world spinning that toy around his cup for a solid few minutes while link was talking is so funny to me for some reason
Link: "But you have so far to go."
Rhett: "Not really 😏"
Damn 🤣
I think standing on the right in an escalator is a universal rule around the world. I live in rural Finland, and even I know that's what you do.
I think it's tied to which side you drive in the country. In my country since you drive on the left side of the road, you're expected to stand on the left when it comes to escalator. (If I'm correct Finn drive on the right side of the road?)
@@Damenwave Yeah it changes depending on which side of the road you drive!
Left in countries where you drive on the left. Staircase and road rules match.
This is crazy y’all, I’ve actually never known about this in my 27 years of living 😅 Learned something new today!
Where I'm from we don't have that many. Mostly just in malls. You are not expected to stand to the right.
"You've tested this? What are you, a Mythbuster?"
"I've banked it every which-a-way"
😂😂😂
Oh god. The escalator talk makes me wonder how they survived in London
they prolly took a taxi
People walking around in public with their music on a bluetooth speaker .
"I wish I knew who it was so I could fire them" 😂😂😂 I love Link in this episode
Same 🤣
No but I get what Link is saying with the paper cupcake lmao. Whenever you go to a bathroom at school/work and the paper is everywhere I just wonder how these people even function. Like, how hard is it to push it down a bit when you throw the paper away? It helps EVERYONE.
I wonder if they would do it at home. No? Then why the fack would
You do it somewhere else??
@@justjeni83 They probably would do it at home. Some people are absolute slobs
This one turned into another episode of Link’s Bathroom Rules and I can relate. 😅
Link- please for the love of all things holy. Stand to the appropriate side (left- if you come to Australia) of the escalator.
Lol
We do right because we drive on the right and you guys do left but I think Britain does it to the right for some reason.
@@juliemckew1728nope. Left.
@@katrose5179 OK makes sense
I think the reason people most likely have their phone on speaker while walking at night, is because it’s easier to see dangerous things/people without the phone next to your face.
Just always be to the right. People want to walk past you. They can always be in a hurry. Anywhere
And why he arguing against it? But then says he always walks up an escalator 😂
@@Tabbykat13 That's probably why. He doesn't stand still anyway so he doesn't get that it's a thing.
I love how neither Rhett or Link knew what that choker necklace was lol
I agree with Link on sitting down when peeing. Its so much cleaner
Agreed
Sitting down to pee is not an option when your boys dangle too far…

@@antonyhurst9151It absolutely is lmao, you just hold them up slightly the same way you do when you (hopefully) sit to poop 😅
Link immediately being defensive is so on brand lmao
Sitting to pee is superior due to being cleaner and more quiet. There is no contest.
Also, the sitting part.
The way Rhett says, "I don't do it in the mall" just had me rolling. 😆 A little attitude.
can’t believe Rhett missed the opportunity to say “pissbuster”
i love link’s mullet with my entire heart and soul ❤❤
Link fidgeting with everything but the spinner🤣
I agree with Link on store escalators. They only go one direction and who is in that big of a toot to get to the next store.
Ah. Here in New York, it is indeed expected that there will be people walking up or down a moving escalator, because here in New York, we all need to get somewhere fast. And If I am heading down the escalator to make my train, you can believe that all four-foot-eleven-inches of me will do my Brooklyn face down to whoever's in my way, no matter how tall.
3:33 the nervous laugh from the crew after Rhett mentioned AI being used for the show 😅
No, Link! No!!! There is ABSOLUTELY an expectation that if you stand on an escalator, you stand to the right. That's a fast way to make enemies on the east coast.
People who don’t stand or walk to the right on escalators or sidewalks etc. are always so oblivious to their surroundings. It’s infuriating. Life time east coaster here too 😂
Do it wrong traveling on nyc trains and you’ll get mowed down
This is true internationally too tbh, i grew up east coast but every time ive been abroad its the norm
It’s the left here
There is a whole Wikipedia article called "escalator etiquette" and to sum it up, everywhere in the world stands to one side or the other, in order to let walkers pass lol... it's wild there's even a discussion about that.
Everyone jokes on Comic Sans as a font but studies show it's the one people find aesthetically pleasing, similar to the fonts you guys chose.
In uk people DO walk on the escalator and you do need to stand to one side in UK. Otherwise people will glare at you or complain. Especially in London.
I almost wish good mythical more was the podcast and it ran for an hour. Its my favorite part of the show. Its just random conversation but really entertaining.
You don't watch Ear biscuits?
Link, if you stand in the middle of the escalator, you are gonna get your butt kicked. Or, if I'm behind you, I will yell at you.
No you wouldn't. You have anxiety and probably depression
@@Ninefatmilkydabs LOL
I thank God everyday for Link revealing his squeegee technique by saying that people have squeegees attached to their arms called “hands”
as a woman, i think all men should sit to pee 😅 no matter how good you think your aim is, there’s ALWAYS splatter 🤢
I think rhett & link need a separate boss bathroom apparently lol
Scheduling every moment of a vacation, and forcing others to comply is evil, and a great way to alienate loved ones.
Rhett was in such a great mood in this episode.
Lmao meanwhile standing to the right while on escalators so that other people can walk past on the left is 1000% an unspoken rule here in Toronto
right?? i thought it was an unspoken rule everywhere until now 😭😭 get tf outta the wayyyy
Same in Montreal... even if it's at the mall, cinema, whatever... stand on the right, walk on the left. An unspoken rule that you learn very quickly.
In germany you learn "Rechts stehen, links gehen" (stand right, go left) before learning the alphabet basically lol
What I’m getting from this is, Rhett is a dog, Link is a cat 😂
yeah, I love planning stuff but I've learned to keep it to myself and influence instead lol
Loved this More today, it was really laid back and I enjoyed the boys throwing jabs at each other and getting defensive here and there lol
Started to get hypnotized by the swinging of Rhett's Tamagotchi.
5:52 😅😅 Okay to be fair, I like to have my speaker phone on when walking alone at night so that surrounding people are FULLY AWARE if they jump me there will have at least been someone on the other line to know...
"You tested this? What are you a Mythbuster?"😂😂
Wait wait. WAIT. Rhett is the one that watches tiktok videos during work meetings?
He's always searching more information and thinking why do you think he wins all the games he's more informed.
For the escalator situation, I agree with Link. I’ve never known of the expectation to stand aside on an escalator at malls and such. At least at the ones near me, there is an escalator and stairs right next to each other, so if you wanted to walk up you’d take the stairs.
if you live in nyc and take public transit, you MUST stand to the right on an escalator. it's like an unspoken rule lol. there are ALWAYS people who walk on the left side!
Has Link never been on an escalator at a tube station?
Link is not allowed to visit London.
I feel like he's just referring to the shopping mall variety in saying that.
@@LindsayOLearyor any subway
In Thailand, we were taught since Kindergartens to "keep right" when going up-down the stairs. Even subway escalator, you're not allowed to walk/run up-down the escalator, people still stand on the right.
At the DC metro, people definitely walk up and down the escalators
They should put a divider down the middle of the escalator and have one side say escalator in the other side say escastairs
"He seems to be resistant to this." ❤😂
People (like me) will sometimes do that walking at night because we're paranoid and unmedicated and need something to distract us from the worries and thoughts about crazy people attacking us.
How is Link so particular about cleanliness yet on the show he makes the most mess being chaotic 😂
I live near Vancouver, BC and in the skytrain stations, I'm sure that I've seen a sign that says "Stand right, walk left". I always move to the right on an escalator or moving sidewalk, but I'm a slow pedestrian.
I live In nyc standing on the right of a escalator is a main rule. The left is for people wanting to walk up faster.
Link needs a haircut, stat. lol
I am the person who walks at night with phone on speaker but I do it because I listen to too much true crime and believe it’s safer 😅
In Germany you absolutely have to "Stand Right, Walk Left". I will forever judge people who stand left or take up the whole thing.
Link it's Link I haven't watched yet but its 1000 % Link!
No kidding lol but it’s part of the show
How dare you be so right
Always stand right on escalators! There are signs in Toronto. Plus you live in LA - it is relatively flat. We have escalators everywhere - malls, subways, etc.
"Not really. " 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I hope they know they are causing a lot of arguments and break ups today 😂
the Atlanta airport comment is so accurate. People will yeet you down that escalator lol
2:58 "These colors would never be used any other decade... These two,right?"...
Except on a GMM coffee mug.
I do agree, though, that the overall design of " trendy" packaging does appear to be more retro than anything.
Someone left that cupcake just for Link in the bathroom , he made it so much harder than it had to be 😂
I hope somebody sticks the bottom of an actual cupcake into the hole and just leaves an actual cupcake there haha
Link having such specific rules and guidelines makes me feel so much better about also being someone who is so particular
Also giving Rhett credit for the distance joke
It's Link, definitely Link! Oh wait, I should probably watch the episode to see if the question I think they're asking is actually what they're asking.
Link almost makes me not want to watch GMM. I don't know how he managed to convince someone to marry him.
would anyone have a problem with another show, call it Link and DeFranco? Let Rhett run with David..
When I was on a tour in New York city, my tour guild would always tell us "right is polite" when walking up or down stairs
can't wait to watch this
I am almost half way through it and feel like I can’t finish this episode. 🤣
I pee sitting down at home because I want the same 3 minutes break from my kids that I'd get from pooping. Thats my time and imma take it! The cleanliness helps as I'm the only man in the house.
I live alone, so my toilet seat is always up. Mainly because I'm on a Water Pill and when the urge to go hits you, every second counts.
Can someone make a compilation of rhett saying " I'm a big man, I'm a tall man so..."
The person that left the cupcake is sweating right now 🤣
I feel like the only people commenting about the escalator are the types of people who pass you when driving even when you're already going over the speed limit. In all my time being alive, I have never once been on an escalator that was BIG ENOUGH for 2 people to stand side-by-side, the AVERAGE escalator is not made for that, they're made for single-file lines of people. Not to mention, the longest I've ever been on an escalator while sitting still, has been like 10 seconds. If you desperately need to cut a 10 second stairway trip down to 5 seconds, you need to reevaluate how you manage your time.
Oh Link…. Watch your back on these NYC escalators. We WILL tell you to move!
Had no idea about the escalator thing
They’re beefin’ 😂😂😂
Good Mythical Summer!
Road/driving rules apply when walking/running/jogging. Therefore, in the U.S. you stand on the right on an escalator. This allows emergency personnel and security to move more quickly if needed.
In Australia we stand on the left of the escalator as we drive on the left so it depends on the country it seems
It drives me nuts when someone looks at their phone while I'm talking to them. lol
I’m with link on the escalator, y’all are crazy
In Singapore, it's a cultural norm for everyone to stand at the left of the escalator so that others may climb past you if they wish to.
I def call or FaceTime ppl without warning 😂
