- This is the first (and only) episode in what was originally going to be a miniseries about my life, creative process and tools I use to write, mix and release my music as an independent artist. I don't have the time to continue this series in any further episodes, but we had an incredible time making this short film. Sorry I didn't get into any of the instruments or gear. That failure (which was my fault thinking I'd do more episodes) keeps me up at night...

Let me know what you’d like to see and hear more about in future episodes
Mr. Anderson I love your music Sir. I have all of your albums. ☺
You covered a lot of topics and a lot of your space. I really enjoyed watching you make the music and going with the flow, making changes as you went. Maybe next time kind of walk us through the steps of the creative process that is your world. I loved the sense of humor, all the stories were great. I guess my only recommendation would be to keep being you. Stay awsome 🤙❤
I would Love to see how you Produce a Song or maybe dive deeper into your synths which you will anyways soooo just keep it up.
But overall I don‘t know what to say. This Episode was everything i ever wanted and These 38 Minutes just felt like 5 or Less.
Really loved the video... Love to see the synthesizers and its ambient sounds.
Thanks so much for doing this!
Video suggestions:
- Synths tour
- Mixing process
- Piano overview
- Your general composition philosophy
- Finding inspiration
- Maybe one Q/A
- Maybe get Chris or someone else on and how us how you record them?
I found your music several years ago and it quickly became one of my favorites. At my wedding I walked down the aisle to "Grace" and we also played "Breakthrough" during the ceremony. My husband and I will always be huge fans!!
No way!!!!!!! Thank you faith!!!!!
I don't know who you are, but you just changed my life. Thank you.
Wow. Thank you!
"I would like to live the rest of my life inside a reverb tail"
Thank you, I think this is my new favorite quote
Let’s make it into a t shirt
@@TonyAndersonMusic Yesss
@@TonyAndersonMusic Waiting for the Merch
@@TonyAndersonMusic Yes please!!!
@@TonyAndersonMusic I want that merch! :D
This is more like a tour of his life and way of thinking than a simple studio tour. Kinda felt like a mini documentary, and i love it for that.
It's nice to see someone having a fun personality and not speaking like a pretentious academic about their music process. Also, really appreciate the effort in terms of production quality. There's still a desire for that. Not everything on CZcams needs to be shaky in your face selfie videos with a thousand quick cuts. Keep doing you! And pumped for the episode on mixing piano.
BRO!!!!! CJ! You give me life my friend. Thank you. And yes to the production quality. Austin Daniel and michael blew me away. Excited for you to see the synth episode.
@@TonyAndersonMusic How can you release new music when you haven’t released your next studio series video! Don’t you know your priority must be CZcams videos now!!!
Joking aside, can’t wait for that video on how you mic your piano. Hope you are well.
Im a 48 yo Composer(Secretly being doing it since age 7).... and Tony Anderson is singlehandedly inspired me to throw all my time into my talent and start to produce my own story. You are indeed one of my 1st Inspirations into doing this. I thank you !!
I'd like to hear:
01. Your inspirations
02. Musicians at current days you appreciate dearly
03. Your thoughts on lyrics and vocals, as a melodic guy myself sometimes I couldn't stand music with lyrics, it's a vibe killer in my opinion
Even the ending credit has that sweet humor, what an episode. Surely want more, i just loved it.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Let's hope this man doesn't retire
I hope to be doing this as long as I’m here :)
@@TonyAndersonMusic Music to my ears... Pun intended
Seeing that this Video is 38 minutes long alone is a pleasure.
Keep up the good work Tony. Your music is a blessing.
Yeah we wanted to go longer form. So happy you loved it.
@@TonyAndersonMusic it was wonderful. Couldn‘t be better!
From listening to your music I thought you were a kinda zenish guy, but I'm so glad to see you are this animated laid-back dude, which got me very surprised!
My work and life seem like opposites. I just can’t be serious all the time like most ambient producers. I’d be depressed nonstop.
Wow ! this has to be on Netflix.
I had in mind a general Studio Tour but,
It turned out so refreshing more like a day in life of Tony Anderson.
Loved the early part of your gadgets and stuff, with some good talk.
Tony. Back in 2016, when I first heard your music on Music Bed (I edit for a living), I was blown and way and instantly wanted to know how you were making this music.
I came across a blog post you had made about your process and tools, and that was the first time I learned that virtual instruments and orchestras were even a thing! I was instantly inspired by your music and process, and the idea that I could create a full cinematic piece on my own inside the box. This put me on a journey to learn to compose cinematic music, and I'm still on that journey today.
Thanks for continuing to inspire me with every new track you release, and I know that this new series you are doing is going to be the catalyst for so many new composers, just like that blog post was for me.
THANK YOU. Please make many episodes! :)
Josh, your note and your kindness is incredible. Thank you. You’ve inspired me friend.
I am so excited I get to see how your beautiful and inspirational music is made
Thank you! This is going to be so fun!
Hi Tony, i'd like to say this is my unofficial open letter to you.
But first i just have to say thank you for all the beautiful music you have been making!
This is a great video and this is the first time i am actually getting to watch a personal video of you doing your thing,.. its really refreshing to finally gain abit of insight into your thought process, what inspires you, how you make your music, your audio equipments and abit about your personal life. Thanks for sharing!
You sir are God-sent and i'll like to let you know that your music has been my major source of inspiration!
Your story about how you first quit music to pursue other things till you finally decide to come back to it goes on to reinforce my belief that nothing can ever beat true passion and that no matter how hopeless or unpromising the prospect of pursing ones true passion might seem,... WE MUST NEVER GIVE UP ON THAT DREAM.
I got introduced to your music circa 2018 by youtube auto-suggest, given i like to watch alot of Nature/Urban & Natural Landscape Films with ambient relaxation music.
The video was titled Peru 8k featuring your music: Eyes Wide Open, the moment the video opened and the music cued in, i was instantly sold.
I am into alot of landscape/nature/abstract photography and drone Videography/Cinematography and i will like to say prior to discovering your music; over the years i had listened to several hundreds of music ranging from the ambient/atmospheric/deep focus/cinematic music/post-rock genre and playlists on Spotify and beyond, to movie scores and i'll like to say NONE, and i mean NONE of those music spoke, connected and inspired me like yours do!
Even though i did favorite alot of those songs, created playlists and i love to listen to them repeatedly and always enjoy them, they just never inspired me creatively.
When Listening to your music whenever i am driving or working or just purely relaxing, i am just busy visualizing different images in my head (while i am enveloped in the rich textures and soundscape of your music) about the aerial videos i would love to shoot, the scenery, how i want the cinematography to be like.. & when i am done shooting & still nursing ideas later on on how to go about my editing, all i just do is find any of my favorite music of yours to listen to and i get inspired.
Suffice to say, Your music guides how i choose to edit my videos (all my workflow basically) to the final cut!
I am ALWAYS listening to your music while i am editing.
Some days when i am just sitting idle, listening to your music...., the ideas for my next video shoot just start materializing in my head and i go out & just do it!
Your music has been a major source of INSPIRATION & MOTIVATION in my Content Creation Process!
I've been able to publish few of my completed, short drone films on YT and i am so grateful for your music.
I still got quite a number of unedited footage which i'd shot over time and i am still in the process of putting them together into short films as time goes by!
Your music constantly gives me inspiration!
Fun fact, i'm currently ranked top 0.05% of your listeners on Spotify.
I could go on and on, but for the sake of TL;Dr (which this already is, lol), i just have to say Thank You for all you have been doing! I am immensely grateful for your music!
Keep up the good work, Sir.
I am really looking forward to seeing episode 2 of your studio tour, hopefully soon! :)
PS: I also just watched, your new Video: Debris.
There are no words to truly describe the immense horror that unfolded that day, no words to express how heartbreaking it is to watch in such great amount of detail as you have so much put in the effort to make sure we see,..but in the middle of it all, it has also been really very enlightening altogether. THANK YOU.
I am currently listening to your new album Debris as i am writing all these. YET ANOTHER MASTERPIECE!!!
Peace & Love be unto you from this Domain!
Mate, I've been listening to you for a long time, written so many screenplays to your music in the background inspired by so many of your songs. You have touch, a sense and a feel that others don't. Stay connected with God and continue to let him work through you God Bless you.
This is what I aspire to. Amazing.
Your comment at 13:40 resonates deeply. I want to enjoy music for what it is and how it makes me feel when I'm making it. The "hustle" mentality around music has become prominent in LA over the past 10 years and it's disheartening. Happy to hear a professional who feels this way.
Every ambient musician: “I want to live the rest of my life in a reverb tail”
Hah! Nailed it!
One of the best video I have seen in a while
Love how down to earth you are and being able to see a more personal and humorous perspective of your life as a composer. My favorite part was in the beginning when you were going through each of the sounds for your composition 😂 you can go through so many sometimes before it sounds right. I’ve been listening to your music for years and will happily continue to enjoy your work. Keep it up! Thank you for being an inspiration for mine and others musical work.
Summer, thank you!!!!!
For someone like myself still producing in an apartment this was a very interesting watch, thanks for sharing Tony (showed up in my recommended)! If I'm ever in LA it'd be fun to meet up and talk about creativity, music, being independent etc. I definitely see a lot of similarities in our approaches to it all but also some differences that could result in a valuable exchange - Would also be cool to hear how the awesome studio sounds in person haha. I'll shoot you a email or dm if I fly over later this year. In the mean time I'll be following the work - Great stuff! / Ikson, 28 🇸🇪
Ikson ur music is amazing
Subbed, you have great music!

@@TonyAndersonMusic what is the song starting at 20:22?
For me, this video is a personal savespace. I watch it sometimes when life gets a bit clutter! Thank you Tony!
I have struggled with anxiety and a panic disorder all my life and I just wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making the music that you do. I always have your music on in the background because it keeps me grounded. Thank you for sharing your studio it looks so god damn good I am truly jealous! Looking forward to all the next episodes!!
Man these beats are cool to Listen to tho for me it makes me want to smoke and cry and trip
Hi Ivan i struggle with it too. Tangerine Dreams been really great for me. Theres a ton of live concerts on youtube i just play them and it really helps me out. Remember man. Were out here too and youre not alone
This is content we need more of. Thanks for the reminder to take creativity slowly. It's just not worth it to give away your peace when the world demands it. Excited for the detailed walkthrough of all your outboard gear!
Love you Oliver
Thanks Tony, I love the passion you have for your music. Looking forward to part II.
How ironic! He was once rejected by Hans Zimmer. Now I listen to a lot of Hans Zimmer and Toney Anderson’s work together in the same playlist while studying and prepping my cases. When you keep pushin, you’ll be elevated. Proof right there. Love that! 👍🏽
When are You going to release that song from the beginning of this video? It's great!
I can feel the passion for music through the video. The way you describe things and tells story around the things you own gave me chilles and inspiration.
Great work! I would love to see more of that!
Seeing this over a year later and it still hits home! Composing and producing can be such an isolated experience sometimes, seeing your journey and process is so insightful and inspiring.
What an incredible studio you have!!! Thank you for doing these and spending the time to share. It's very much appreciated! ❤️
Not only is your music such a vibe but omg you are uber handsome lol and express your art so well. Your whole studio is a vibe also. Love it all. Thank you for sharing! Your music has been part of my life for a long while now and I am grateful. P.S. 🐦s are angels sent to be around you. ❤️
Hallo Mr. Anderson. Thank you for all the music.
Thanks Robert!
We need episode 2. This video transports me in such a positive way where I stop and take a moment to appreciate all the beauty around me, thank you Tony
Loved this. It did bring back memories. I remember the college dorm days and wanting to respect your space. You had a place for everything and everything was in its place. I honestly think that has attributed to your musical success. I’ve watched a few videos of you. You have fun, but at the same time you make sure each note has a purpose. I miss you friend. Keep it up. Proud of you. What I’m most proud of is that you continue to not mold you or your humor to those around you. You always had a way of making people laugh because you’d say things that no one expected or ever heard before. I saw that in this video. And it made me smile. Thank you!
Really looking forward to this! And Tony - so cool of you to share and add to the growing community of skilled artists sharing skills instead of keeping it a secret. Cheers!
Thanks Klaus! I'm really happy to share...I want to dedicate an entire episode just to piano technique - this one is more of an overview.
Where is Episode 2 ?! I need more !!
Great inspo watching this!
These riffs are pure genius.. So please continue your talented passions with really no limit to what you can produce. I'll certainly be watching!!
Hi, I'd just want to let you know that your music has accompanied me for many, many hours while I'm writing my thesis for my masters. It's keeping me focused, giving me lots of emotions, and makes me feel like I'm in a different reality. It's beautiful, intense, and has pulled the right heartstrings. I don't know how you convey things so deep in music without words, all I catch is from your song titles and it leaves me imagining. You're amazing, Tony. Thank you.
I'm a composer and i've been SUCH a big fan of your work and your music and your sound and seeing this was such a burst of inspiration. Your space is incredible, hell even your home is incredible. Im a gardener myself, loved seeing you water your plants, and the hummingbirds!! PLEASE keep these videos coming. You have no idea how inspirational and helpful it is for people like me wanting to learn and get insight onto my favorite artists!
Thank you Daniel!
@@TonyAndersonMusic Tony im DYING for the follow up video! I would love to see your piano recording and Pro3 workflows!
It's such an honour to finally learn a bit more about you! Thank you for showing us your space where this immaculate and inspirational music originates from. Your sincerity, openness and music is much appreciated.
❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely love this episode Tony. Your music has been a huge part of my musical journey both as a producer and in personal life. So happy to have a sneak peak into your life and studio, really inspirational video. Please keep them coming. Much love!
I'm just thinking about what a heavenly feeling you got whenever you work on your studio!! I wish I could have a tour on your studio 💖💖
This is so exciting! God bless you Tony, excited to see how God continues to work through you 💐👏
Thank you!
An absolutely spectacular video, Tony. I'd easily watch this for hours assuming that I'm not listening to your incredible music already.
Journey and Bloom, is easily amongst my top 5 music pieces from you. Wish to hear more impactful, emotional and motivational songs from you like Journey and Bloom and of course like any other amazing music that your produce.
Keep up the great work!
Loved the video. And laughed like anything at the end credits, especially when mentioning other names for just 1 frame 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this video! I have listen to you music a lot! So glad that you are doing this studio tour for us! I would like to hear more about how you shape your sound, it really sounds so great and polished and with life! Keep up the good work, you are a good inspiration!
Hi Tony!
I just wanted to say your piano sounds the damn best I've heard.
I would love to know more about this!
Love you. You give a lot of new things to me.

Love this video! A Part 2 would be great! Talking about the gear and your process....PLEASE : )
You have certainly unlocked a lot of things for me with your music! Thank you Tony.

A masterpiece... Very excited and glad to be here in the premiere. You are amazing, bro! Having beautiful music in difficult times makes everything different, it makes everything much better. Thanks for the gift :'D
So glad you enjoyed it!
I also have a Dodge Viper from my childhood! Haha crazy :) Thanks for making this Tony, it's good to see the professionalism of your music finally colliding with what we see on video. Would love to see more.
Thanks bro! You also have a viper?!?!?
@@TonyAndersonMusic haha yea a yellow one :)

Funny thing is, 90s kid from Russia myself, had a red Viper too :) One of a kind car!
@@beaverbreweryminsk5392 BRO!!!!1 YES!
All of this makes me appreciate you more as an artist/creator.
But mostly as a person too.
Thanks for all the music that you have made! I have enjoyed so much.
Your music is on a higher level than the rest
I totally understand the sitting in the Chair. I totally agree on how essential it is to just calmly center yourself. Whenever I want to make music on my piano I do something similar. Coffee, feel the wind or breath in the fresh air, allow my mind to relax, then become inspired. I also live in Joplin Missouri making music but only on my piano. Another video idea maybe. If someone is trying to start making ambient music what equipment or programs is a good place to start. I also love your music bro. Your music inspires me to continually improve
Love it. And I love Joplin!
Hi tony…you’re wonderful man
I like the way of your demonstration
It’s mind catching and that closing
Credit was epic man.
waiting for next Episode!!!
YOU GOT IT!!!!!! Thank you!
This is probably the best studio tour I’ve ever seen just a man enjoying his own space crazy but not crazy definitely a dream
This is the best studio tour I've ever seen (my dream studio is basically this exact vibe), and it made me a fan of your music :) I love the quick insights into your creative process, this whole thing was incredibly inspirational to me.
That was an amazing Pilot episode. Super excited about what's more to come. (I hope it's making of Immanuel by popular vote :) ) You will always be my favourite composer!
You got it
My Monday has been made. ❤️ Good start to the week.
YAY!!!!!!
Been a fan for a while now Tony and have loved listening to your amazing works. So glad to have found this video to see the inner workings of you, the artist. Thank you!
I keep coming back to this video.. I tried my whole life to have this kind of life and could never get close. What a lucky guy
This has been one of the most genuinely entertaining/informative videos that I've seen in sometime
WOW!!! Thank you!
Your studio is so beautifully unique, Mr. Anderson! Generally, you're just such a cool person :) I wish you best of luck and God bless ^^
Awww thank you!
Wow, Tony! So great! 👍
You are so full of life Tony, thank you. Going in to this video, I expected you to be really calm and reserved. I mean your music is so oblivion to me, I feel alive listening to it, steering away from the melancholy of our life. However, your thought process and perspective towards music and life is so modest and real. Please make more of these! I'm not yet over my favourite tracks by you - Eclosion, Retour, Ariana, Younger, Immanuel and Indigo of course. If you can, please talk about your thought process to create such unique sonics. How are they so emotionally heavy! What is your journey over these evolving sounds?
Love your music
In case anyone else is wondering, the silky smooth synth featured from 0:00-1:13 appears to be the Alesis A6 Andromeda.
Yes sir it is!!!!! My favorite.
I long to get my hands on one! Maybe even a custom faceplate. Lol, I am sure the guy that did yours would love that.
The intro music to this video, Is this a completed track? I used Shazam and nothing comes up. Whatever it is it sounds awesome!
I love this! Thanks for doing it and showing us the magic.
Just discovered you man, your latest album is a masterpiece it will be with me forever. Thank you so much for being an absolute legend.
Excited for this!
Me too :)
Loved the "If I become a CZcamsr, send help" line. That's hilarious. Enjoyer of your music so I'm looking forward to a new perspective of your story. Thank you for sharing! BTW...as fans of spirits (as you can tell by our channel name), love seeing the decanter of bourbon on the desk. We live just outside of KY and big fans ourselves.
Come on!!!!! What are you enjoying these days? My friend just introduced me to a barrel pick of weller full proof this past week in Lexington and I went to heaven.
@@TonyAndersonMusic OMG. We're jealous of that as we're unable to get that here in OH. Funny you mention that though as we were lucky enough to grab the only 2 bottles of Weller Antique Reserve on the shelves at our local spot. Looking forward to popping them open and making an Old Pappy with them.
I’ve loved your music for years! Nice to see the face behind all the feels! Keep it up - always looking forward to the next one ❤️
Finally, someone has done a studio tour that is art in itself, beautiful production and delivery worthy of an A list actor.
I will set a reminder on my phone so I don’t forget to watch it.
I always do that!
Is that first track which you seem to be in the process of producing going to be released as well? Sounds absolutely mesmerising ^^

What an amazing studio you have, the studio itself is a craftmanship, a fine art, a bridge between digital & analogue, inspiration & production...Marvellous tour Tony!
Thanks for your courage to open up your personal and proffesional life in such a way to your fans and everyone else interested in making music out there. Best of luck in LA and I personally can't wait to hear what's next masterpiece you are going to come up with. Your music in an inspiration and I thank you for that!
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE BEGINING SONG??
Your music revs up my braincells. Just gets me to write and write.
I often recommend it to my students.
Also, this tour felt right from the heart.
Just a request, and also as you said, it's been a terrible year (last 365 days).
And as we speak, India is literally being torn apart by the virus.
I was just wondering if you could make a piece for India. A piece to lift up the spirits. A piece that commemorates the ones who are no longer with us. A piece that heals.
A piece for India.
Hello, I completely agree! I'm a student too and I listen to his stuff a lot to study and do my assignments
Wow...this is so special and deep for me!
Great episode, I'm looking forward to the next one! Very ambient and cinematic, just like your music! Great humor too!
Love Tony's vibe. I think there's a lot of wisdom in how he approaches writing.
Most important lesson from episode 1: Always use reverb.
ALWAYS
I feel sad for the people who missed the end credits.... LOL
That was the creative team. Love those guys.
Perfect work! 👏 Perfect studio! You're really a good person! 😎 You make these perfect songs for us! 😍 Keep it up! I look forward to the next new part! 🙏🎶🎧

真的太喜欢Tony了!不管是工作室还是生活都完全符合我的向往,音乐更不用说,我完全被打动了。希望我有生之年也能有这样的经历吧。Love and Peace!
It's films like these that I love seeing the most because we can dive into our favorite creators lives a little bit without being too strange about it. I love this film and would love to see more in the future. Also, it just makes me want to work with you even more so in the future. Cheers to you Tony! 💙
Shouts out to the people that read the entire credits. lolol
Thank you for sharing this. Really enjoyed hearing about how you approach anxiety and work. I find myself frenzied to create and make, but hardly ever making from a place of organization or peace. Would enjoy hearing you talk more about the integration of day-to-day life and work. Hustle culture is exhausting, but everything is screaming that it is the only way to make it as a creative. Thank you for offering another view.

Thank you so much Tony for this amazing tour and for sharing your creative process! Truly inspring! Warm greetings from Switzerland, Bruno
