    Had an 03 Q45..They only came in 2 trims, I had the base version. The one you tested was base as well; the upgraded one had ventilated front seats, heated and reclining rear seats, with manual side shades and a power rear shade, along with audio controls in the rear console. Anyhow, you're spot on with the review, very low key luxury, comfortable, potent V8, and if you know about the car, then you know you got something special that you probably won't even see once a month! My particular one had a few previous owners who apparently didn't give it the required love and upkeep it needed, because electrical gremlins, a suspension issue, an engine misfire and few other things led to me finally selling it after only 2 years. Repair parts are expensive and hard to come by, being no other Nissan model was comparable to it. But when it works properly, yes, a wonderful car to pilot.

    ...wow, kid. First off, I'm impressed that someone from your generation would take notice to the Infiniti Q45. Good job and great video.
    I have an 03' Q45 as well. Just this month I chopped off the Cats (so much for that 'subtle' acceleration exhaust note. Lol) and I picked up 14 hp to the stock 340 hp. Now instead of my Q sounding like a choked 370z...it sounds like an angry GTR...lol.

    I'm not sure why I am just seeing this post because I have a 2005 Q45 with the premium package every bell and whistle fire brick leather seats 18 inch chrome wheels rear reclining seats and AC control in the rear center armrest, I also have the power privacy shades in the rear I love having this incredibly rare car I have searched high and low for a 2006 model which is even more rare. I previously had a 2003 version of this car which is slightly different, from 2002-2004 is the original version and 2005-2006 was the last version of this classic automobile. I was so impressed with the 2003 that I had I absolutely had to purchase the same car again after a careless driver T-boned me despite the damage I was able to drive the car home this car is incredibly sound structurally. The current version I have I had it shipped from California to the east coast. This car is my daily driver it is incredibly reliable I keep up with my regular maintenance and this car just keeps going. I have yet to see another version of my car with the same packaging. The version you featured is close but the fire brick interior on my car and the chrome wheels just pushes it over the top. Thanks for sharing Zack!

      @Organic Iverson that’s so interesting because I have never seen a 06 version of this Q45 that’s the rarest version of this car, but the firebrick seats has had me so satisfied.

      @TheSeanpoppa Před 3 lety +1

      @Organic Iverson I did research and called the dealer ahead of time they had a good reputation but that still didn’t prevent a few hiccups however it all worked out. I wanted that car specifically and I understood how rare it was I also let him know who I was career wise so I think that kept them honest. The 06 s was Infiniti’s last efforts on this car to salvage this car so I imagine the few 06’s might have been lavishly outfitted.

      Just when you think you pretty much have it all covered in regards to all possible extras and what not with theses Q45s, I like to add that our 2002 which my father purchased back in 2009 from its first owner in the San Diego area was black with black interior, chrome rims, had a nice rear wing and along all that the emblems, door handles inside out, shift knob and all that jazz was in factory gold tone rather than the usual chrome haha so ya what else can I say I was what 20 and drove the car a lot more than my dad did :) cruising up and down Hollywood and sunset with friends multiple times on the weekends and taking it to palm springs on holiday long weekends...

If you had reviewed the premium package then you will have reclining rear seats that's heated..the rear arm rest has controls for the front climate control and radio...also you get different leather on all seats and front seats have ac/ heat.....sunshade all around. The premium package was about 6k more than base ..and 1k extra if you wanted the chrome factory wheels.and the adaptive cruise control were only included on the premium package 👍👍

      @LCdic09 Před 2 lety

      I had a 2003 one. I liked the car, but since I bought it I thought something was off with the car, I don't know exactly why. Maybe it was a transmission issue. At higher speeds, it was revving much higher than my Altima 3.5 v6, which I felt odd having a bigger engine. One day I run over a deer. Only the front right side was damaged. But I found out that just the headlight was worth over a thousand dollars! So I freaked out and started thinking that the car will cost me a fortune to maintain eventually, so I took the money from the insurance and got rid of the car.

    • @bigd7386
      @bigd7386 Před 2 lety +4

      I don't recall this being a negative against the Q45. They just happened to debut around the same time and I think they both kinda caused a revolution in car design. They were the first two cars... that I recall... with the modern kinda swept back headlights and the separated interior lighting sections/modules instead of the typical rectangular or completely round headlights. Again, I don't think any resemblance to the Altima, which was very well received, caused the car to flop. It was a lack of marketing and until the big SUVs took over, this was a hard class to break into and the standard was the S-Class, followed by the 7 Series and the LS. It was a formidable competitor and was WAY better than the LS of its day, but it didn't have the right badge on the front. Now if they had released this car AFTER the run of the G35 sedan and coupe, FX and M cars, I think it would have had much more success. Those cars really elevated the brand, but Infiniti threw in the card on the class.

      @@bigd7386 You're talking about the 'debut' of the Q45 which was in 1990 and had nothing to do with this car. A totally different car. Nice review. I owned of if these when I lived in Japan where in its motherland is known as a Cima. Some of the nuances between the two was I had a TV tuner, front side cameras and power reclining rear seats as a 2002. Great cars. I felt this was a better car than the Lexus of the time but the styling was a bit of a miss and that’s what hurt sales. I like the styling but I think they should’ve made it a little more chiseled up front and they would’ve had a hit. She was awesome on the highway and is a great touring car.

Cam sensors in particular. Out of all of them, the M45 is a phenomenal car, but the same old issues. The '90 model handled and looked great, but the 2003 model seemed confused about just what it was supposed to be. Still, a pretty cool looking car.

    I own a '02 q45 with the sport trim option, and I love it. The seats are comfier than any car I have sat in, and I love the "sleeper" look and feel of it. I love when a clapped out civic with a ebay turbo kit pulls up beside me, because they have no idea that I have a good ole fashion v8 under the hood, ready to take 'em to Gapplebees. It's a old school, heavy, mob looking luxury sedan, just how I like it.

    This was rebadged Nissan Cima, originally created during Japan economy boom, it was a high quality lexus rival. However, the body isn't wide enough for US markets. Also with the recession of Japanese economy and the misfortune of Nissan, Nissan didn't want to spent money creating low volume flagship again, hence discontinuing Cima as an individual car (it became a long wheelbase Nissan Fuga, the Japanese Infiniti M).

    These Q45's were cool cars, always loved those headlights, early 2000's was peak design language for Infiniti, my favorite car I owned was the 03'-04' M45 340HP RWD V8, the styling is timeless and ya just don't see them, nobody ever knew what it was, I had a white 03' M45 I bought back in early 2004 and it looked like nothing on the road, the styling looks even more at home today due to it's sharp clean lines, it just looked aggressive without being busy, I miss that car.

    I never forgot about the Q and I really feel like it was better on release back in 1990 than the legendary LS400. It was just marketed poorly and Infiniti quickly removed a lot of the things that made it unique in their quest to reign in the aforementioned Lexus. By the time this 2005 model came out the Q45 was almost completely dead in the market which is a real shame as it was still a really great car, with ahead-of-its time features.

    This is my car!!!! I have a 2006 with 132k
    And I love it. My husband and I have been a infinite family for a long time and our last one was a m35 2007 and we loved it. But my husband was sitting at a red light when he was rear ended.
    Now when I got the check from the insurance company my husband was sending me a million pictures a day of cars that he wanted to get and they were nice but I have always told me husband to never run out and just buy any old car. You want to get a car that you know is right. And when you find the right car....you will get this feeling....you will know its the car for you. Well even tho I have picked out our last 3 infinite and every one of them was the perfect car and once we bought the cars each time my husband will tell me....ok.....you always pick the best car...for now on I will let you pick out our car from now on.....
    Now I prayed to God and told him to please show me my perfect car....bc we had to turn the rental car back in and I didn't want to rush into getting any old car.
    And to my surprise when I went back on to marketplace it reloaded and this was the very 1st car and I knew it was mine and I had to have it. Now we didn't know what it was untill after we bought it.
    But once we got it home and started looking things up we found out how rare it is and now we want to buy another car and just put this one in the garage and just never drive it bc its so pretty.
    Lol. We love this car. Ours is a 2006 but even so.....it's so amazing. Ours has it where the back tires will also turn a little bit. And one I have not seen that on any other car.
    Infinite is a car you can and will fall in love with. 😍

    hi
    I am the happy owner of the NISSAN CIMA VIP model from the 2010 year
    Inifiti Q45 is like a little older brother of my Car. From the Outside Looks really like the Infiniti Q45 Premium version
    This model was made ONLY for the Japanese market in the years 02.2008 to 06.2010.
    It's a little longer than previous models of Nissan CIma and Infiniti
    I have all extras You said in this movie, of course, + many, many more toys like an Adaptive light and adaptive cruise control, and several types of messages on one of the back site-+ dunno how to explain that in English proper but a front passenger site part of the backrest can be folded down and the rear passenger can stretch out his legs.
    The car is in amazingly good condition with only 98,000 miles
    As you rightly noticed, the Infiniti Q45 is a wrongly forgotten flagship model..let alone the Nissan CIma Vip?
    I'm pretty sure very few people commenting here have even heard of such a car 8-)
    The obvious downside of my car is, unfortunately, the Japanese language in the AUdio system
    NTSC TV, radio up to 90MHZ and subtitles in Japanese.
    I managed with the subtitles by simply using google translate on my phone.
    I bought a frequency converter for the radio and an NTSC to Pal secam converter for the TV.
    I'm just about to install these upgrades.
    Maybe I'll make a video about my car
    Maybe any one of You want to see my car?
    If just a few persons answer me YES I will make some movie about it ..Greetings to everyone who comments here under this movie about this so rare and perfect car

    Went from a 1997 Lincoln Continental to a 2002 Q45. Ride was better (less floaty) as you could tell it wasn’t based upon a front wheel drive family sedan {cough Taurus }, and given the front wheels were left to do what nature intended: just steer, it handled much better. On ramps were taken with a spirit the Lincoln could match. And when compared to the LS400/430 of the day, much more “youthful” driving dynamics as well.
    What killed the Q was the front end styling and horrible marketing. The same thing that Nissan has done with the Maxima. Ever since their partnership with Renault, Nissan/Infiniti has last its way. If it weren’t for the G35/37 sedan, they would have filled bankruptcy years ago. It’s a shame. Very sad that cost cutting and a horrible marketing department has severely damaged the brand.
